Same.  I got to the radio tower and then somehow got spotted while halfway up, even though it was almost comical that we are running around in a bright white T-shirt given to you on the airplane to run up open hills with guard towers everywhere.  The "stealth" in this game is beyond horrible.  The storyline for this heist is even worse, and the characters a notch below the storyline

I spent all morning setting up for the heist. Tried completing it solo multiple times and got completely SMOKED. And I'm not exactly bad at the game. 

 

I bought everything available this morning and still have $115 million. I don't know why I'm even attempting this heist.

Yep, here's the thing. I entered through the drainage and once inside, you melee what, 3 guards, into the vault and away you go. 2 artworks and the files for 1.4 million. 

 

The only way out is the main entrance and that is literally impossible solo. I mean someone upload a video of that, and I will shake their hand.

The fact I can return and enjoy the best part, the party is enough. The rest of the island is a bland boring set piece. Like a movie set after filming is finished, it looks cool but nothing.

It would help I could ACTUALLY play the new update, I've had the game freeze twice on the fuzzy screen when trying to view the hacked cameras on the sightseer app, and now getting back into online is impossible because I keep getting an error saying that save data could not be loaded from rockstar cloud services

R*'s AI has always been pathetic in this regard--GTA Online -and- RDO share the same underlying "NPCs get a pass, but players do not" B.S.

 

i.e. Enemy NPCs can see and shoot you through bushes, heavy fog, etc. when you as a player cannot do the same to them.

Only thing which keeps me from uninstalling and having 100gb more ssd space are beautiful cars.

And even that point is pretty sparse in this new dlc.

So i heard that PC performance on the island is horrible for some reason to the point where you have to lower everything to normal and resolution to 720p to play smoothly and that's on high end hardware. Anybody have same experience?

I have some experience with ymap and it's true that it takes a toll to performance since GTA V by itself is a big CPU hog. Then you have interiors like the Casino running like sh*t on PC (and PS4) and with the excessive ammount of vegetation it makes sense that it runs like crap. Totally expected

Lol, so i can be happy if i hit 30fps with my antic i5 4460 then. I think that perhaps vegetation is bigger issue on the island, so it's more GPU bound. I have yet to play it. I have gtx 1650s, but if i have trash performance i might need to find a way to lock on 30fps for the island. Thing is i don't see how it's even worth to do all of that because payout is low, ai is aimbot and infinite spawning and if you get detected it's better to restart or you gonna get killed almost instantly with swarming aimbots. While casino heist may take 12-20 minutes depending if you play with some noob randoms, this takes much more time for lower payout and more frustration. Add to that trash performance when i expected some smooth one like in the Blaine County and it makes me tired to even download this not to mention playing it.

So it seems the only way you can revisit the island after the heist final, is when you're the leader in the final. If you do it with friends, there's no option to revisit the party. Fk this blsht update. Rather doing the casino heist or some business stuff. Pays better for the amount of time as well.

Lazy re-use of old props on the island

Use of the character creator and character clothing to create and dress the island NPCs instead of creating new ones.

Really low-res NPC characters that look like they are from the XBOX 360 / PS3 era. No, that's being too kind, XBOX and PS2.

Really boring, dated and lazy gameplay. "Sneak over there and take a picture of some bolt cutters man" Wowee, that's f*cking thrilling.

Nightclubs and dancing sh*te

English Dave, the biggest tossbag character ever to grace a GTA game

Long, boring and incoherent cut-scenes. Most featuring English Dave

 

Aw man, it's actually funny just how bad this is.

 

If there were a Mission Creator or Heist Creator feature where you could even craft new environments, then this is what you might get. It just feels as if it is fan-made content.

Update has lead me to believe that some folks would ride Rockstar even if they literally released a virtual pile of sh*t as a DLC. Boy, I seriously do not miss this fanbase. I guess this is semi-related to the B&M about this update. I just feel like it's people like that who enable Rockstar to stoop this low in the first place.

 

"The car isn't even out yet, stop complaining" and then people automatically assume you don't know what you're talking about when you point out the problem with something. If you disagree, you can state your counter argument without completely ridiculing and personally insulting whoever you disagree with in the process. I mean this is an internet forum. You do not know anything about me anyway so why would that work?

It's a bit harsh to blame people and sneer at them for constantly being optimistic before every update. Rockstar have had some past glories and hit some really high marks, so they have set their own precedent in fairness.

I mean, the quality of all the content (the island, the vehicles etc.) in this DLC is way below the usual Rockstar standard.

 

Maybe they outsourced their whole idea to a 3rd party who are just new into the game-development?

You just don't know really, what with Coronavirus and everything this year, just who has been responsible for what with this DLC? 

 

I don't think that it is an unreasonable musing given the circumstances. Maybe resourcing this year has been difficult?

I never said there was anything wrong with being hyped. I was slightly optimistic myself. It's after the fact when there are clear issues but all they say is "stop complaining" it's just not productive... when it comes to anything. Part of the reason why I tend to f*ck off from forums but I couldn't help this time around with this update being so anticipated.

 

But it is just exhausting. I'd love for everyone to be happy. Every single update since Arena Wars has satisfied me to my core actually so it's not like I'm just bitching about every update. But people need to stop discouraging criticism and personally invalidating those who do.

First heist update that made me play the heist once and then close the game. Feels weird and idk yet if the update is THAT bad or this stale year made me loose my interest in GTAO. Or the game is too old and overly-played?

 

But still, the first stealth part was...bad. Then the preps, the lack of cars. I understand that they must use marketing buzzwords, but "biggest update ever"? Seriously?
