It does not, only if you put a vehicle in the second Sub slot like the Stromberg or Toreador.

Thanks. I will buy it immediately.😊

Dude, you can insta-spawn the Sparrow right next to you from the Kosatka menu. Just like the Buzzard from the CEO menu.

Haha, I'm a little peculiar when it comes to my Mechanic and like I said I didn't have a problem using a Buzzard to land on the sub. But I will get the Sparrow next.

You can freely swap out the vehicle in the back so if you want a Stromberg or Toreador later on you can just put it in another garage to remove it from the Mechanic list.

Buy the Sparrow, access it from the Kosatka Services menu.

Okay, weird question, since this is the Tips & Tricks thread:

Is there a guide that explains the rhyme and reason for everything you are able to choose to collect, find, take pictures, of etc.? I started doing preps yesterday, after choosing the Submarine as my approach vehicle. I am struck by the fact that, while I found stuff, at least one of every optional item, I have no idea what any of this stuff is even used for. I would love to read a guide of some sort that explains what the grappling hooks, bolt cutters, Supply Truck, are all used for and how to use them, where to access them once in the finale. Do I or a team have to collect it/them somewhere? Using the guard clothes, do we have to find them again when we are doing the finale? All the loadout weapons I read about, all the approach vehicles, how they change the preps and finale?

I don't expect you guys to answer all these questions, of course, But I go into my Heist menu screen and all I see is a bunch of tabs and screens and stuff I don't actually understand when I look at it. A comprehensive guide, if one is available, would be awesome.

When I did my elite, there was no objective to not get detected listed.

There is an award in the stats menu to complete it without detection, but it's seperate from the elite challenge and the elite award.

The elite challenge objectives are:

Finish in less than 15 minutes.

Don't fail any hacks.

Fill the bag with secondary loot.

Also @Commander S (Just in case you've not caught the objectives yourself yet. Apologies for the delay as I said I'd return with the info. :))

A word of caution here. The don’t get detected before entering the compound / reaching the safe might be a hidden objective.

This was the case with the silent and sneaky approach at the casino. It didn’t show in the objective list if you completed the challenge but you got a fail if you were detected inside the casino. Outside was ok though.

Great advice, I found this out the hard way in an S&S Casino Heist a few months back, where I thought I had the Elite, after being detected just after leaving the control room, but still managing to get to the exit without dying. It's a little cheap with the Casino Heist, since as you said this wasn't shown in the objectives list foe the Elite.

It is not, as the Sparrow is right next to the heist screen. Coming from the hatch you'll need to walk around and climb some stairs. Also, with the Sparrow you can fly at top speed towards the sub and get in by clicking E when right on top of it. Trust me - this heli makes the in and out a piece of cake.

After I payed for Air Support on my first go and it did absolutely nothing for me - I'd say those are worthless. Maybe if you go aggressive they'll worth a while, but going aggressive means you'll lose a significant portion of the secondary target loot, so I prefer to go S&S (which, I've found the hard way, is impossible when you do the Velum approach).

My last attempt I think I've found a cheeky easy way to escape absolutely undetected with... swimming. Will try to shoot a video later.

It is possible to do silent with Velum. You need to purchase the weapon stash support crew first.

Good advice, I'm sure I'll test this in future as I get more comfy on the aggressive approach, lol. I shall report back but it'll be a couple days I think. :)

I found the INFO on the heist computer useful, Y on xbox, triangle? on PS. Tells you what it does.

Basically;

Grappling hooks allow you to use the broken wall entrances and exits from the compound

Boltcutters will get you into secondary stores and the safe area, but once you scope the drainage tunnel you're better off getting the acetylene cutter in prep.

Cutting powder, take to a water tower (there's 2 to choose from) during scope and the guards will be sh*t shots

Guard clothes let you walk around like a boss outside the compound, and combined with a supply truck will allow main gate entry

All of the above are found during Scope but collected during the heist. If you just want a quiet life, use the Kosatka entry vehicle combined with the drainage tunnel, then leave via the main gate and get to your exit.

What I have found, scope the island and then decide what to do rather than focusing on "a stealth approach using the main docks and HALO" and then getting upset when the RNG won't play along.

Also, the Longfin entry has the advantage of giving you a vehicle with a free choice of where to go.

I still haven’t played it myself - hopefully tomorrow. But the rumours I’ve seen is either getting detected before the compound entry or before getting the primary target voids the elite. Presumably only one of those is true. If it’s the compound, using the submarine entry would completely mitigate the risk. Like I say, “rumours” though!

Thanks for all the info, @Gridl0k! I actually wasn't expecting anyone to type that all out for me here, so much appreciated. I think that I am going to try and use all of the various entrances, tools, and whatnot, little by little in the next few months, to unlock all trade prices, and to experiment with all the wacky tools. I already committed to using the sub as my first entry vehicle. Just one more question: What are all the weapon loadouts I read about? Are they weapons you choose in terms of preps one or two to hold when going in? Because the weird and confusing thing to me, when I was in the Preps menus/tab was that it looked like each section of prep missions had several different missions associated with them. So I wasn't sure if I needed to do all of them, or if in each tab you choose one. I guess I can find that out by booting up the game in a little while and seeing what happens when I take a prep mission.

It's all a bit wrong, yes. For instance once you have the cutter from prep, you don't need to do the "mandatory" explosives prep at all (still need print cloner and the other one though).

If you do a prep and the main menu square for that submenu turns solid, you're done, if that makes sense. So one weapons prep (your choice here is basically sniper rifle and AP, or some sort of heavy weapon and no zoom) and that's it. The exception is Disruption, which are all optional.

I've definitely been caught as I neared a boat to get off the island so that does confirm the part about getting caught after exiting the compound and not void the elite similar to the casino.

Though if I see a video elsewhere of another getting elite on a louder approach before I get a chance to, I'll pop up a link for sure. Could be worth checking in on the record time elite heists threads, lol. I've a few of those guys on my friends list so will surely ask too. (Those guys make me look like a complete noob sometimes, lol).

This right here's important.

Wherever you locate the Guard Outfits, use that as reference when locating infiltration point as close as possible. The faster you get your hands on those outfits, the better.

And yes, Longfin is fantastic. PRetty easy prep too. Make sure to return your Kosatka, call in your Wedge and Terrorbyte for speed and ease of removing cops.

Here it is boys, I think I swam in a wrong direction for a while and took me a bit too long. Damn that boat that I couldn't hit the driver in...

Noticed you can change outfits during prep - anyone replicated the guards outfit and given it a shot?

They still get upset by FIB, firefighters and yacht captains 😂

Okay, still loving this thread, by the way.

I am just finishing up my preps. Though I may go back to the island to scope out some more secondary targets. What Optional Prep missions do you guys recommend, if any? Most notably, I'm talking about the Disruption Optional Preps. Note that I chose the Kosatka as my Approach vehicle. I stole the cutting torch, and my Weapon Loadout is Aggressor, if any of that makes any difference.

Also, this is my target info:

Medrazo Files = $1.1 Million

Secondary Targets= $2.342 Million

Should I go back and scope for any more Secondary Targets? Not sure if you can scope additional Primary Targets. I get the feeling no.

Here are a couple videos I took jumping the first gate with the Manchez Scout:

First one was a bit to the left, second a bit to the right, third was just right. It should be easy once you get the hang of it. Only when the guard in the tower looks toward the ramp (you) on the approach, can you get caught.

You can't scope additional primary targets.

Regarding the secondary targets, you can only carry a certain amount in your duffel bag - in the range of about 600k I believe (roughly 2 caches of items).  Secondary items are available on the island whether they've been scoped or not, if you know the locations.

The disruption preps are meaningless if you complete the heist stealthily.

I got caught in the compound *after* stealing the primary target and it voided the elite challenge.

So I assume the requirement is to enter and exit the compound undetected.

Tip:

There's a aircraft carrier spawn while scoping (probably glitched).

Take a helicopter from aircraft carrier ( cargobob) and scope out everything without being caught.

Note: you cannot fire in lazer and can't access to compound
