Scratch that - it is better. Its missiles do not have a cooldoun like the ones on the Buzzard. You can spam them like you are in a Hunter.

I have a question and rather than create a thread, I will ask it here. I started a heist and went to the Island to scope stuff. I was planning on going back and scoping some more for this heist, and I assumed you could do this. However, now I can't seem to get back to the island. I can't figure out how to get back there from the Heist room in the Sub. I have a funny feeling, and I hope I'm wrong, that once you leave the island you can't go back to do more scoping for that heist, and have to wait until the next one?

Edit: Okay I think I just figured it out. Sorry! It appears I had to click on Intel something or other.

Word of warning about the setups where you destroy weapons, armor and buzzards. I started up the weapon one, and nothing happened, no way point to travel to, the mission didn't start (similar thing happened with some casino heist setups), so found another session. Problem is the mission is marked as complete, so can't do this one now, the guards will have good weapons. With duggan shipments you could find new session if it went tits up and you want to restart, doesn't look like you can do this here. Not overly bothered though, haven't tried the heist yet, but I've completed the other two, armor and air support, so should be fine :)

Forklift can be used during the finale but I can't see what use it'll actually have. You can pick up some boxes but the cage on the 2nd floor seems inaccessible?

I guess it's another "lol 2 players or more, bitch" from Rockstar.

The cage is accessible, and the forklift allows you to reach its gate. You can do this solo.

Thanks, I realized this today. I guess I gotta learn how to think outside the box a little faster in the future, heh.

Quit Application on Console or Force Close the game on PC. Don't give the game a chance to save.

I have done this multiple times and I have always been able to try again when I load back in.

You can skip the “flying back to LS” part of the scoping mission by joining a new session as soon as you finish scoping the content on camera.

That's good, but then the lone guard at the tower wouldn't get to see me swan dive onto the pavement to spawn right next to the plane.

General questions about points of interest:

1. Is there any real point or benefit to the truck/main gate entry? I did it solo and it was fine, nice to drive around the island freely I guess. But once inside it conferred no major benefit. A few of the many guards were marked friendly. And then you can't use the truck to leave, the ruse is over. For all the effort it takes to find the truck and uniform(s), then go put them on, this seems like just a novelty, and it's nearly the same to just take the drain pipe in and stealth your way from the back.

2. Similarly, any benefit to doing the grappling hook entry? I want to do it just to see what it's like, but finding those things is a pain in the ass--I've set up the heist three times now, finding one hook the first time, none the second, and now two on my third attempt. As I usually play with two friends, I've never had enough of them. Which leads to my related question: do you actually need one gear per player? That is my assumption since there are four to find, but want to confirm.

3. Last but definitely not least--for those who have played with the other options (support crew, poisoning the guards), does any of it seem worthwhile at all? We've tried using the sniper (didn't seem like he did anything for us we couldn't have done ourselves, since you have to aim at the guard to paint them as a target). I'm curious about the air support--as we are consistently setting off the alarm when leaving the compound so far, I'd like to have some cover fire, if it's effective. And as for that poison, what is its impact?

Basically just hoping to get feedback on all the weird details of the heist that you might have experimented with. Thanks.

Okay, so if I am understanding you correctly, the latter is sort of like an expanded version of "Vault Contents" in the casino heist, where you have to scope the vault every time you start a new heist, but the former is like the POI's in the same Casino Heists, in that they are permanent once you find them. Thanks for the answer!

So dumb question then. If you have to scope tools and all the loot every time, are they always in pretty much the same places every time? Or did you mean that they change every heists, when you said they are randomized? I could be misinterpreting this, but if you have to literally hunt for where all the tools and various loot caches are every time you start a new heist...man that sounds really tedious! At least with the Casino Heists, "Vault Contents" is like a 3-5 minute mission in its entirety. Finally, how long does it take to scope out all the tools and loot stashes at the beginning of a newly started heist?

It is tedious but not necessary to scope out all the secondary supplies. They'll still be in the usual spots regardless if we scope them. Once the compound is cleaned out there's not much space in the bags for anything else.

Thanks, @FlacidJack!

Okay, so I did most of my scoping for my first hosting of the heist from my Sub. I did:

8/8 Infiltration Points

4/4 Escape Points

6/6 Compound Entry Points

Now I assume all those above are permanent? Meaning I won't have to scope them again in subsequent heists?

Something I am confused by: I only have 2/6 Points of Interest (last category in the Intel tab). But I have one each of all items. Does the game think I need more bolt cutters, grappling Equipment, and Guard Clothes? Is this for multiple people doing the heist with me or something? Because only 1 instance of the Supply Truck and the Control Tower were needed to check off those boxes.

Finally, before I start my preps, I only have one each of my secondary targets, and only Gold and Paintings. I don't have any Weed, Cash, or Cocaine. Now I remember taking pics of them, soooooo am I right in assuming that the pics I took were of my primary targets? Because I took a bunch of pics of cash and weed, and I think Cocaine when I scoped out the island my first time there. Also they are showing up on my map when I am on the island. Any idea what's going on? Should I be looking for more Secondary Loot before starting the prep missions and finale?

Edit: By the way, regarding above, when I am in the Secondary Targets tab, the game is telling me "Secondary Target Scoped: Cash, but shows no number, meaning no 1/1 or anything, like I have with Gold and Paintings. The same for Weed and Cocaine. It says Secondary Target Scoped: Weed and Secondary Target Scoped: Cocaine, but again no numbers next to them. Weird.

For questions 1 and 2, not really. More just another way to do it for variety, although there is an award for the truck entry one. One and done for me.

For question 3, I've not needed to use any if those as I prefer to either go through the drainage and be sneaky or just blow the front door down and go in aggressive. More frequently the sneaky way, but I do like a bit of a shootout over there. Again I feel it's more just for variety to mix things up. The poison definitely didn't seem to offer much at all as there was still plenty of guards.

Indeed, permanent and no need to re-scope those points.

Yes to both aspects. It'll say 1/4 unless you find others, but if you're going solo, you don't need to scope out those others as these will reset after the heist is completed and you'll have to scope out more on the next run. If you plan to use those items of course.

Must add, be mindful that these items and the truck might not be in the same location next time too.

If the coke/weed/cash is showing on the map when on the island, it is marked ready to loot when you heist. IIRC those don't have a '1/4' or similar listing on the Intel screen but it does say '5' or however many there you've found once you've found all the potential secondary targets of each type of loot there.

These targets are random per heist and it could be that you find 4 coke on one run or 5, same for cash and weed. There is a map on the forums and I'll tag you by quoting it in a moment if you'd prefer to take a look at all the potential locations as it'll highlight what I mean by random more I feel.

(I hope I made that last part clear about the random spawning/Intel listings etc lol).

Upgrade wise for the Sub.

The Sparrow with Homing Missile upgrades should be mandatory for anyone who wants to do Heist Prep.

Completing the Heist the first time lowers the Fast Travel price to two thousand. This makes travelling across the map insanely easy and should be unlocked as soon as possible. You can FT even in Prep Work so use it. It takes about thirty seconds to move across the map so time accordingly. The targets graciously stay on the FT map as well so you can position yourself.

The Guided Missiles upgrade is hard to master but combined with FT you can stomp Prep Work from across the map. The range of the Guided Missiles is about half the map East to West and one third the map North to South. Plan accordingly.

In which preps u can use the guided misile?

I’m not sure about it... I’m doing with oppressor mk2 currently... but, in the last prep (disclosure) can u hit the 4 set of buzzards?

Any example of how u use it?

thanks.

You need to use Fast Travel in conjunction with the Guided Missiles. FT close to your target and then fire.

The Buzzard one is the easiest one as the targets are so big.

So, looks like the supply truck is only needed to go inside the mansion. You can simply get some guard clothes and a Winky to go to the mansion, just don't use the front door to go inside.

I always get a Manchez Scout to jump over that small gate just outside the party area. It's very quick and easy once you get the hang of it. When coming from the airfield, approach from the left of the tower, pull a wheelie, and use the natural ramp to jump.

I also tend to land a Buzzard on the front of the submarine, and it hasn't fallen off yet, so I might not even buy the Sparrow. Seems like going in and out of the main hatch might actually be quicker.

Nope.

I shot down all but one of the cams in the compound and nobody noticed me until the scripted discovery.

Also where is that bloody shotgun?

I checked all 7 locations last night and it was not there.

When I did my elite, there was no objective to not get detected listed.

There is an award in the stats menu to complete it without detection, but it's seperate from the elite challenge and the elite award.

The elite challenge objectives are:

Finish in less than 15 minutes.

Don't fail any hacks.

Fill the bag with secondary loot.

Also @Commander S (Just in case you've not caught the objectives yourself yet. Apologies for the delay as I said I'd return with the info. :))

A word of caution here. The don’t get detected before entering the compound / reaching the safe might be a hidden objective.

This was the case with the silent and sneaky approach at the casino. It didn’t show in the objective list if you completed the challenge but you got a fail if you were detected inside the casino. Outside was ok though.

Is it true you can put the Blazer Aqua in the Kosatka Moon Pool?

If so then why can't we swap the Sparrow out with the Thruster or MkII?

It is not, as the Sparrow is right next to the heist screen. Coming from the hatch you'll need to walk around and climb some stairs. Also, with the Sparrow you can fly at top speed towards the sub and get in by clicking E when right on top of it. Trust me - this heli makes the in and out a piece of cake.

After I payed for Air Support on my first go and it did absolutely nothing for me - I'd say those are worthless. Maybe if you go aggressive they'll worth a while, but going aggressive means you'll lose a significant portion of the secondary target loot, so I prefer to go S&S (which, I've found the hard way, is impossible when you do the Velum approach).

My last attempt I think I've found a cheeky easy way to escape absolutely undetected with... swimming. Will try to shoot a video later.

If you take the Kosatka approach you will have a Scuba set equipped meaning you swim faster and have unlimited air.

Dude, you can insta-spawn the Sparrow right next to you from the Kosatka menu. Just like the Buzzard from the CEO menu.

It does not, only if you put a vehicle in the second Sub slot like the Stromberg or Toreador.
