TheGasmeter
Discovered anything worth of use? Anything new? To start off, when you have to evade the guards and make your way to the compound after leaving the party, don't do what I have done, and jump in the water to swim around. There is literally NO entry point along the coast to even get back on the island. Not a one. Your character will do that idiotic slip.and slide down animation and the slightest hint of an incline. Jumping will not work either. I am currently backtracking after about a half hour Taterman, saintsrow, AgentSapphire and 10 others

I closed.tje app and restarted. It put me on the sub and I had to work out how the hell to get back to the island. Turns out, I had to go back to the H screen and restart the whole going to the airport stuff again, with no cutscene skips. When evading the guards I would say just gun it through the middle of the island. There's no point exploring since you need to get to the yellow marker to begin finding locations, so don't waste your time. saintsrow

itsallup
If you do decide to hit the water you will have to swim a lot but halfway through you will find a dinghy and it will help you. Once in the control tower make sure to look through all cameras before leaving it takes a while but you will learn more and it will be good in the future. To make the correct picture for the north dock, climb on the derelict boat and click the camera facing the speedboat.
partci
I'd say if you buy the submarine for heists - the Sparrow is mandatory. To be able to lift off and land on the submarine with it is priceless. Also the heli is on par with the Buzzard. Maybe a bit faster. partci
One more thing: after the first heist (?), fast traveling with the Kosatka goes down to 2k and you can use it when starting your preps. For example: if you are starting your prep fro Vespucci but your end location is Paleto Bay, you can fast travel with the submarine to Paleto and launch your Sparrow out of it from there. PP.Fang
Ok I did two heists here’s what I found out FOR HEIST FINALS: 1. solo and getting one teammate with 15% cut earns you about same amount of money, even when having one more player allows you to access more valuable loot 2. ALWAYS choose night 3. At night (haven’t tried day) guards literally don’t give a f*ck about dead bodies, and they are really really slow 4. Starting from airstrip allows you to destroy the air defense first 5. Snipers CAN miss 6. Use the dirt bike, Jeeps and Hummvs are too big a target and get stuck between trees all the time FOR PREP: 1. It’s better if you have sparrow 2. You can technically park your oppressor mkii on the sub 3. You can move the sub after you started the prep 4. You can park your sub next to your yacht for more heli pad FOR SCOOP: 1. At the entrance, time the guard/camera and just run through the gate then hide behind the cabin, better then swimming 20 minutes to the dock 2. If there are two stacks of loot, take two pictures 3. If you find a box of mixture near cocaine packing place or weed farm, climb on a water tower (look for small circles on map) and pull the mixture in the guards water supply. REALLY REALLY help with mission. 4. Always try to find more tools near your preferred entrance BuckingSeason, saintsrow, AllNighter1 and 7 others
zhb94430
My take after 4 heists: There’s very little value in scoping outside of the compound. What you get are locations of loots and tools. For the loot location, they are incredibly obvious and you can easily find them during the heist without scoping it out first. Plus, chances are your bags will be full before you grab all the loots from inside the compound, if you are playing with 2 or more people. On a side note, with how small the bag capacity is, I doubt you can get all the secondary targets even with four people. For tools, the only thing useful is the wire cutter since it allows you to open gates without making a sound. But once you find the drainage entrance, you unlock a prep mission that allows you to get a torch that does the same thing. This heist is more generous when it comes down to shooting down cameras. I think you can get close to taking down all the cameras in the compound without getting punished. Guards inside the compound will drop one keycard and one gate key. The second keycard can only be found in the upstairs office. Fast travel with the sub is reduced from 10k to 2k after completing the heist for the first time. Combined with the sparrow, this makes most of the preps incredibly easy. I was able to get most of the preps done around 5 minutes. You can also return and call out the sub during the prep if you end up too far from the starting point, it’ll save you even more time. The best solo route I find so far is use the drainage pipe and exit through the main dock. Be sure to clear out all the guards near the dock before exiting. I was able to get two primary targets so far: pink diamond and the tequila bottle. 1.4 mil for the pink diamond and 990k for the tequila bottle. partci, ten-a-penny, Rev. EkaSwede
Tips I can give Scout the tunnel entrance. THI SIS IMPORTANT. This unlocks an optional item "Steel cutter?) that also replaces Bolt Cutters meaning you won't have to take a detour to pick those up. Helicopter DIsarm Once you destroy a helicopter FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT REMAIN STILL. Fly like the wind, you fool! The 5-6 waves of Froggers manned with Assault Rifle Aimbots will tear you to SHREDS if you're on the ground and they spawn obnoxiously ABOVE you whenyou take out a a pair. Hop into a weaponized heli/jet and blast every objective Buzzard and just WING IT. The Helis spawn so close and so above you they won't have time to catch you and then despawn. After 5 or so waves the game stops sending them. Again, you're caught on the ground with this guys active. YOU. ARE. SCREWED. Explosives DO NOT APPROAcH YOU R SUB IF YOU HAVE WANTED LEVEL. Once the wanted level goes away you will be unable to enter your sub through any means and you have to switch sessions. Might've been a one time glitch for me but do not f*cking trust it. I've found randoms try really hard when you are giving them an 85% cut. Everything being solo is great but from what I have played of Cayo Perico I think having to play with one random for the casino heist is better. RyuNova
If it's the first time you are doing the mission then the Disruption Preps are critical. Learning the lay of the land and how it all works is a hell of alot easier without Buzzards and Automatic Weapons. Once you have done it and you go back for your own gain unless you are doing a guaranteed silent in and silent out Heist with people you trust the Buzzard one and weapons are still mandatory. The armour one is hit or miss, if you can pull off headshots then its pointless.
ChiroVette
Okay, I did the Heist preps and finale yesterday with a friend, but we used his Sub instead of mine to launch everything. While I was very much underwhelmed, and at the moment have no interest in replaying it on my own save from my own Sub, if that changes sometime in the future, I have a question. If one were ambitious and decided to follow one of the many new Youtube videos and grind away an evening or two looking for literally ALL the points to scope, weapons, POI's, tools...everything, does that mean that on your save those things are scoped out forever, like in the Casino Heists? Meaning if you find every, single, solitary thing on the island, does that mean that if you complete a heist with all preps and finale, then start again, are those points all still scoped? Or do you have to scope weapons and points every time you start a new heist from your own sub?

Okay, so if I am understanding you correctly, the latter is sort of like an expanded version of "Vault Contents" in the casino heist, where you have to scope the vault every time you start a new heist, but the former is like the POI's in the same Casino Heists, in that they are permanent once you find them. Thanks for the answer! So dumb question then. If you have to scope tools and all the loot every time, are they always in pretty much the same places every time? Or did you mean that they change every heists, when you said they are randomized? I could be misinterpreting this, but if you have to literally hunt for where all the tools and various loot caches are every time you start a new heist...man that sounds really tedious! At least with the Casino Heists, "Vault Contents" is like a 3-5 minute mission in its entirety. Finally, how long does it take to scope out all the tools and loot stashes at the beginning of a newly started heist?
