Kosatka submarine Appreciation Thread

Chumash would be nice too, its the only place on the map that I dont own property. Point is my sub doesnt stay where I left it when switching sessions. Maybe if I use Last Location instead of Kosatka as the spawn location?

Its strange, mine always seems to be near the place I left it but I am (now) always in a Invite Only lobby so I would assume that the Kosatka spawn points are being taken up by Yachts and other Kosatkas in your Session and you are being pushed further North looking for a spawn point.

Setting it to Last Location will spawn you on land with your Sub in storage as it's a "Service Vehicle" like the Avenger and MOC.

Sometimes when you join a job, but the host leaves, you spawn in a Kosatka on the spot where the job lobby is located. That explains some Kosatkas at the airport.

This was not my experience when I did a little test last night. In a Solo session I drove the Kosatka out to the bottom southeast corner of the map as far as you can move the cursor. I quit out onboard the Submarine with my spawn location as Last Location,  then started another Solo session. I respawned onboard my submarine which was now off the coast of Chumash

Huh, it must literally see "Last Location" as your Kosatka?

I have mine set as the Kosatka specifically and I always seem to spawn close to where I left it.

Strange.

I normally leave my Kosatka near the beach and when I load back in (Invite Only) I am normally very close to there, not all the way up in Paleto.

This time I had it next to my Yacht in Paleto Bay, when I come back its north of Mt Gordo

The missiles paired with the thermal helmet is really something. It's great for bounty hunting too.

Guess what, you can land your planes on Kosatka, so it's kind of personal aircraft carrier. And a submersible one.

I love the Kosatka, but the lack of a Master Control Terminal is very disappointing.

I even have its location planned. If the Weapons Workshop can remove the Brig then the MCC can remove some of the useless bunks in the Sleeping Quarters.

the best place would be as an addon to the planning screen so you could use the one terminal for both functions

or it could replace the monitors next to the weapon workshop

The monitors next to the Weapon Workshop at the Security Cameras for the Sub, you can actually use them.

While I would agree that having it all in one place would be good R* don't normally like to go back and change stuff, better to just add the Master Control terminal to some dead space and let it run off the Casino Heist code.

I wish it was used in conjunction with the yacht or ssomething, that would have been badass. Have it directly under the yacht and be able to spawn pegasus vehicles on the yacht too

I finally killed someone with a guided missile, poor fella was just driving down the Great Ocean Highway in his supercar trying desperately to outrun my missile. I felt so bad

The master control terminal should be at our phones, replacing that stupidly useless SecuroServ app.

Absolutely.

I bet if they sold phone upgrades with such feature, people would buy them in a heartbeat.

Oh I'd spend an obscene amount of money for an app like that on my phone.  There's a lot of things I've thought about over the past few years that I think a lot of people would be willing to pay for if given the option - one of the top ones being the ability to upgrade MC delivery vehicles like we can with CEO crates.  And you'd think they'd do these things if it meant costing the player more in-game money (therefore increasing likelihood of Shark Card sales).

It probably would cost a couple of millions for said upgrade, and I bet it would also require us to own the Terminal at the Arcade, which piles up 1.5M over it.

Still worth it for the hardcore grinders, and I also see it as a likely addition in the future, why?

Because the Cayo Perico heist has made almost every single freeroam business outdated by now, so it makes sense that R* could throw us a curve ball.

I wouldn't keep my hopes up for it though.

The two biggest problem of MC sale vehicles are the fact that they can be locked on by homing missiles with absolutely no way for the MC president to defend itself besides bailing the vehicle and calling for his own MK2, which is a crapshoot because the other player already has the drop on you.

And the fact most of said vehicles are just too slow and boring to use, which makes for a very awkward gameplay scenario where you're at a incredibly disadvantage against anyone else with a meme vehicle...Even an Weapoonized Tampa can be a lot of problem for Post OP Van's and trash trucks.

There's also two other problems with the sale missions as a whole:

1) The fact that said missions are meant to be done with more than a single player(most of times it's 3 to 4 players) doesn't excuse the fact that said missions are lazily done and borderline impossible for a single player...Rockstar allows for a single player to sell their stuff on their own, so OBVIOUSLY they shouldn't make it impossible for that single player.

Either they should rework the MC sale missions to account for solo players, or not make them available for solo players at all.

As it stands, it's just a broken piece of gameplay that shouldn't even exist by 2010s standards.

Oh, and this also applies for Air Freight sale missions.

2) There's no option for the MC president to hide their sale vehicles on the map temporarily like a CEO can do with Ghost Organization, so even if a MC president has successfully taken down a jet or Mk2 griefer and blew up their vehicles, nothing stops the griefers from getting a Toreador, a Deluxo or even Sparrow to come after the MC President and the product.

A CEO can also defend their product from a griefer, and once the threat has been successfully neutralized they can escape and finish the mission using Ghost Organization.

For sale missions, MC presidents also needs Ghost Organization available.

So, in the end, you have four big problems that needs amending:

1) MC sale vehicles being locked on by homing missiles, any idiot with almost any vehicle can destroy you, your best hope is bailing out and trying your best to defend yourself...Oh, the sale vehicles happens to be a aircraft? Then sorry but your product is either being blow up by the griefer, or by the explosion from the crash because you bailed it out.

2) MC sale vehicles being too slow and awkward to drive in general, Not only the Post OP Van's but also the garbage trucks, the Dodos...We are part of a Motorclub, so why aren't we selling products on our bikes???

3) MC sale missions not accounting for the possibility of solo players, if solo players are allowed to play them, then they should be designed in a way that makes the mission harder for the solo player to complete, but not impossible.

(This one also applies for Air Freight missions)

4) No Ghost Organization available for MC Presidents makes it nigh impossible for a MC President to escape a griefer after successfully defending the product, the griefer can just keep coming.

Mix all of that on top of garbage payouts, and it's a no wonder why you barely have people selling MC cargo...And NOBODY selling Air Freight.

Nobody should be doing MC sale missions in 2021.

Well it's a 400K bucks, so if i reload the lobby often enough and the loss is under 25%, it's a truck trip.

The most you can make is from a coke delivery worth $420k, but factoring in the $187.5k cost of supplies to produce a full shipment, the net is $232.5k.

Since the introduction of the Cayo Perico heist it is not unreasonable to be making $1.5 million in 1.5 hours (probably actually a low estimate); or $16.7k per minute.

$232.5k / $16.7k/min ~= 14 minutes. So if you can do everything involved in a full coke sale in 14 minutes (buying supplies, traveling to business, making the sale, reloading lobbies if needed), then yes, it is worthwhile to do in lieu of the CP heist. But I don't think that's a realistic average for coke sales at all, and the other MC businesses are even worse.

You can hang out in your Kosatka while its in storage. If you fail a cayo perico gather intel setup pavel will send you a text to teleport back to the Kosatka, which works even after youve returned it to storage

I do it only because i like trucking and the sale mission has a truck in it. Everything else is a unnecessary pain.

You should sell the weed farm then. Double the chance of trucking. 😉
