TexVoe 1
Win 10, 64 bit 1920x1080 (playing at native resolution) RTX 2080 8 GB GDDR6 SDRAM Intel Core i7-9700K 16 GB RAM Installed on HDD Settings: https://imgur.com/a/Q757xVS Epic Games Store version of GTA V I'll be covering both issues separately, though they both appeared at the same time. These issues appeared seemingly at random, I'm reasonably sure that it wasn't related to a driver update, as I had updated it before this occurred. (I had the 457.51 Game Ready driver back then, I have the 460.79 driver now) Render/draw distance https://imgur.com/a/Rsphc9v (in the video, pay attention to the end of the beach on the right) As I'm not very knowledgeable on how render/draw distance works or how to change it in GTA V, I'm not going to comment much on it, but I'm certain that it shouldn't look that bad as shown in the screenshot and the video. AA Issues https://imgur.com/a/vrYrzqB ( I know that the images don't look bad at the size imgur puts them in, but when put in fullscreen they are pretty bad) I have tried every solution I have found, upping the frame scaling, performing a clean driver install, reinstalling the game, trying different AA combinations, none of which seem to work or have a significant impact on the games' appearance. (I also tried to enable 8xSGSSAA in nVidia profile inspector, but it didn't have a noticeable effect on how the game looked) Edited December 15, 2020 by TexVoe Formatting fixes
AirWolf359 4,919
First issue is probably because it's loading textures from a HDD. Second issue is pretty much normal behaviour from GTA V. It is very pixelated because of the deferred shader. I use 4x msaa plus FXaa, no TXaa. Sometimes I use nVidia DSR (4x) to set my 1080p monitor to 4k with 2/3 frame scaling. That looks better, but I only use it to make screenshots, I don't like to have my desktop at 4k all the time. I don't think nVidia anti-aliasing ssettings work on GTA V with DX 11, might work with DX 10. Edited December 14, 2020 by AirWolf359
_MK_ 8,018
Turn off FXAA and TXAA from the game's settings, enable 2x or 4XMSAA and have your resolution at least 1440p (2560x1440) then apply the following Nvidia control panel settings for the game(apply the marked settings): And get it installed on a SSD. TexVoe 1
Using the settings @_MK_ provided I was able to get this: https://imgur.com/a/O2uWQpP It's definitely an improvement and certainly the best visuals I've gotten since this began. Quote First issue is probably because it's loading textures from a HDD I should have GTA V installed on a SSD by tomorrow, I'll post the results when I do. Quote I don't think nVidia anti-aliasing ssettings work on GTA V with DX 11, might work with DX 10. I had forgotten to mention in my original post that I had switched to dx 10.1 in-game when trying to use SGSSAA. As I said, there was little to no improvement. _MK_ 8,018
Bro I'm seeing blur in your last screenshot, what is that sh*t? is it DOF? and don't switch to DX10.1. Did you apply the settings that i mentioned to the letter?

Did you apply the settings that i mentioned to the letter? Yes I applied all the settings you had mentioned. I'm using DX11, I was just referring to what I did before as a response to AirWolf's nVidia AA comment. DoF is off, so is FXAA, I've had that issue for the same amount of time. Googling it didn't resolve anything as every "solution" was just disable FXAA or DoF, both are off. I assumed that it was a result of my game being installed on a HDD Edited December 14, 2020 by TexVoe
_MK_ 8,018
I haven't tested the game on a HDD so i wouldn't know how exactly it will act, but the background there is blurred as hell, please screenshot your advanced settings. You might end up needing to use ENB or ReShade or both for the perfect image quality.

I'll see what installing the game on an SSD does, then I'll make my decision. Edited December 14, 2020 by TexVoe
_MK_ 8,018
I'm going to install the game tomorrow without any mods while using the same settings (i will post all the settings that I've used) and see if the results are the same, by then have the game installed on your SSD. Never personally experienced that blur however haven't played the game for a while. Edited December 14, 2020 by _MK_ TexVoe
TexVoe 1
Loaded the game on an SSD and here's the result: https://imgur.com/a/Pwl4LlB I can't exactly say that there's been significant improvement. Render distance is still awful, though pop-in has been slightly improved. There is slightly less blur, but is still very noticeable. Something I forgot to mention in my original post, I had installed a Realtek WLAN driver just before this mess started, shown here: https://imgur.com/a/0IGljxv Edited December 15, 2020 by TexVoe Additional info added
_MK_ 8,018
Forgot to ask, what graphics mod are you using? as i don't see the vanilla SMOG effect in your game.
TexVoe 1
I'm using a completely vanilla version of gta v, no mods. I could take a screenshot of my gta folder, but nothing looks out of the ordinary. Edited December 15, 2020 by TexVoe
_MK_ 8,018
What's the time and weather for this screenshot? so i can compare accurately. If you don't know exactly then please make a new one. Edited December 15, 2020 by _MK_
TexVoe 1
I will do so as soon as I can, epic games is updating GTA V at a 0B/s, so it'll take a while
_MK_ 8,018
As for this screenshot those are LODs, as you can see how the building lacks HD textures, might be the same case with the other screenshot.

TexVoe 1
Could it be possible that these graphical issues are caused by low wattage? I opened up HWiNFO and saw this: https://imgur.com/a/VNVoQHb I'd also like to point out that this is an issue on other games as well, though gta v is by far the most noticeable. This was captured with photoshop, adobe premiere and GTA V running at the same time. Edited December 15, 2020 by TexVoe
_MK_ 8,018
Sorry for not getting with this earlier, on with your issues or should i say they aren't really an issue since it's from the game itself. The "draw distance" is fine, it's not related to the draw distance, it's actually the sh*tty vanilla timecycle that adds blur effect, here an example of vanilla and modded timecycle: Vanilla Modded For the second part, it's just LODs, that building seems to have a low value for LOD HD which makes the LOD (non HD) load from a short distance making those very LQ textures appear, so it's just related to that model and maybe you'll see one here and there around the map: So all of these are game related and not from your end. As for AA, this game doesn't have a good one, if you want to make it even better you'll have to use ENB, in enblocal.ini set [ANTIALIASING] HighQualityMSAA=true HighQualityVehicleMSAA=true Or try to up your resolution to 4k.
