Is there a way to make gold easy and fast in the RDO even with Rockstar nerfing the dailies?

After all the mess, I'm thinking about playing again just for the new bountys, then I'll probably quit the game again. 

 

The problem is that I only have 2 gold bars and I'm not really into spending an entire afternoon grinding just to buy an extension of a role.

 

Is there any way to grind without spending so much time?

Quick way is to buy it. Other than that you’ll have to grind it out.

Even with the nerf, dailies are still the fastest way.  All other methods are on a timer.

According to those who've done the math, dailies are still the most efficient way.

Bounties are now more viable.

 

Most important is to do whatever gold earning activities you like and not stress about how long it may take.

Maybe showdowns & races, too, I haven't done any of those in ages, so no idea if the AFK brigade is still there.

Hurrying through things just burns you out faster, enjoy the ride, it pays off because you don't get tired and bored.

Yeah, I do the dailies (at least the 9 role for sure) and some bounties too.

 

I'm at the last two infamous bounties, Riggs and Wallace (of the 13.)

Completely doing 10 of those awards one gold, in the awards (pinned that, until

completed - unlike the bounty xp one this reward is just ONCE (not repeatable) )

 

Something to remember is that 0-10,000 bounty award, for (actually .5 gold and $100),

can just be continually done; so I'm on my third time or something of that (after level 30.)

I "pinned" it, on Xbox One, so I can look over there fast in the quck menu to see it

(you are also told when it gets to 10,000 again, so you can "claim" it.)

 

I just don't find the PVP ones "fun", only doing them if they are for a daily.

On Xbox One, whenever I play they are all try hards and I never see an AFK person.

I generally avoid doing anything that requires multiple tries to achieve, partly why I abandoned doing bounties months ago, just WAY too much work for the reward (or no reward at all because of being glitched out all the time).

A supposedly AAA game company that's made as much profit as greedstar has should be doing a much better job at removing bugs and glitches.

 

I did them all today because of the eventual award for doing 7/7, it's rare that the general dailies are non pvp/posse.

I didn't care for bounty hunting though I'm doing it a bit more now, especially since I'm finding them in free roam. I finally got 10000 bounty XP and turned it in--I got .5 gold, $100 and some XP. But whenever I get one of those "go find the bounty using the ? mark" I immediately start doing some collecting until it's over. I hate them.

 

I never really got into hunting legendaries either, I just usually bump into them in my travels. I knew LA hunting wasn't going to be a favorite of mine after moving around and dropping five of those tonics/locators and getting that message saying something like "the legendary is nearby but it's not clear where the sound is coming from." So why did I pay to learn how to craft these tonics/locators? 

 

I guess we all have our limits of how much we think doing something is worth. When I feel parts of this game are playing me instead of me playing them, I either figure a workaround or don't engage in that particular part.

No really. Dailies are a terrible way or getting gold if you're starting out. About the quickest way to get gold is to do missions. If you do a 15 minute missions and wait for the timer to run down to 30 seconds (you might not need to wait that long) you'll get 0.32.

At least one daily, for the income boost.  Bounties (Bounty Hunter role) after that.  If you don't have the Bounty Hunter role yet you can do Stranger missions.

 

Important... make sure to count 12 minutes from the moment you accept the mission to when you complete the mission/bounty, to maximize the gold payout.  Or if you don't want to track it that carefully... just let the timer tick down to under 2min.

Yeah, the nerf REALLy made it harder on people just starting out (obviously on purpose, by Rockstar...)

Before, they had something to look forward to once they found out about the streak and keeping it

up with a minimal amount of work until dailies were .5 gold.

 

In retrospect, it was lame at the time even but I was impatient; I paid that one time $4 special

offer for 20 gold bars, back when Frontier Pursuits first dropped. I think they still have that,

where a user can do that one time? I did it back then because even though I'd been playing

since Online was in beta, I did not really have a handle on just how lucrative it was to keep

up the daily streak!!! So when Frontier Pursuits dropped, I had enough to buy trader, but

not bounty hunter (then I got collector for the 52 playing cards found in GTAO, an offer

which no longer exists.)

 

So if someone found it daunting now, that one time offer of 20 gold bars for $4

might get you started (as a one time thing, though of course we don't want to

give Rockstar money for gold...)

The best thing to do is learn to coordinate your preferred missions with the dailies that are easy and don't take you out of your way.

Sure, they pay well if you get them all done, but you don't need to get every one if it makes the game tedious, and some of them certainly do.

 

It takes a little time to figure out how they fit together or if they don't, so when you get a kind of routine worked out you'll find gold accumulates faster than you would have thought.

Familiarity with each of the elements is important, and don't necessarily dismiss something if you haven't tried it, you may find something surprisingly enjoyable.

I thought races would be insanely boring, but I really enjoy the open target races.

Of course, in that case, the time consumed by matchmaking really detracts from the fun, but my point is that you shouldn't dismiss something because it sounds boring.

Someone suggested that I do the Featured Series for gold until Tuesday because the payouts are supposed to be better. I figured I'd give them a try. Still not that impressed so I'll probably go back to bounties and missions for gold.

 

This is not a complaint, just something that I noticed while playing in a couple of those Featured. After I got killed, I could watch the game from the perspective of the remaining players. On more than one occasion, there were at least two players teaming up against the rest of us!!

 

Hey, I actually appreciate it when players circumvent parts of this Rockstar  game for their fortune or fame, so God bless 'em. Maybe I'd care more if I enjoyed those PvP modes but, since I don't...

I'm late to the party on noticing you can RESET many of the "award" buckles TEN TIMES and get

 

.4 GOLD each time!

 

Since notcing, a week or so ago, I've reset the "sold herbs to the doctor" and "purchased from stores" about 5 times each.

I think I have "sold to butcher" up to 3x by now; I pick SO MANY herbs I'm glad I found out about resetting the doctor.

 

Some of them kind of tie in together, like if you have tons of $$$$ to waste and want the .4 gold faster (without having reset them 10x yet)

you can buy prime beef/pork loin and such from the General store then sell the entire stacks at the butcher (covers bought from stores, as

well as "sold to butcher" awards) You can basically turn in game $$$$ into gold, until you do it 10x that is, without getting hung up on the "processing"

by selling him singles.

I've maxed out the doctor early this year, and I think I've done with the butcher as well, but for buying consumables I'm a long way off, I tend to pick stuff up rather than buy it, it's a hard habit to break.

I'll have to check about the butcher to be sure, though. I do have loads of cash...

Actually, this is still going on...and, since I hate hunting and fishing in the snow, I've been playing a little of this rather than what I regularly do for fun in RDO.

 

I've been seeing some hilarious stuff, from the AFKers moving in circles as they collect gold (no hate here, do what you want) to people constantly swigging potions to come out on top. I'm just in it for a few gold pieces so I guess I don't take it that seriously.

 

I don't want to cheat players out of their bragging rights so I'm getting  tagged pretty frequently while using just regular ammo. I see when you purchase ammo before the match that only regular ammo is for sale, so I try to only use that. But, for some reason, after every death, I have to switch my ammo back to regular--the game automatically switches to my explosive rounds and I have to change it back to regular (which actually loses precious seconds for me as the round begins). Is that normal? Why does the game switch from my regular ammo to explosive? Is it the game's way of telling me that I suck and I need all the help I can get?

I switched to express the other day, to get practice killing people with "Paint it black" instead of depending on head shots with the "expensive" (time consuming to farm the animal fat) explosive ammo.

It stayed on express, after I switched.

 

I was surprised how well paint it black worked with the express rounds, to kill people; I was doing it in railroad baron where I usually depend on explosive rounds.

 

Besides always getting the 9 role dailies, and sometimes the 7 if they are not too horrible, I've been mainly getting gold from bounties. 

Even a "not very hard" single guy one might give .24 gold or something, on average (plus the cash, as well as part of the 10,000 BH xp you turn in for .5 gold and $100.) They can also be kind of fun.

Yeah, it was definitely happening with me. Although the more I played, the less I was concerned with it. By the time i finished playing, I had been dynamited and set on fire numerous times. I guess some just go all out and use whatever they want. Now that the $$$ is gone, I probably won't do those PvP modes anymore. Overrun was the only one I found somewhat interesting.

 

And, yes, I've been using the bounties for gold now also and found that the 10,000 bounty turn in resets. 

 

I'm basically a soloer but I possied up with a new player to help him out a bit. We eventually went our separate ways. I'm not sure if he went AFK or whatever else he was doing but toward the end of my session, he sends me another thank you for the gold and XP. I forgot to disband the posse and, apparently, he continued to get gold and XP from whatever I was doing.

The only time it switches for me is when I run out of the ammo I'm using. It seems to give you the next most powerful ammo that you own. It has happened so much to me now that I just keep hold of fat and craft it when I need it.
