List of non-pvp in-game events

I have been playin with keyboard and mouse, and between lag and other factors I get demolished by pvp players with controllers due to the aim assist.  And since the vast majority of events are pvp (plus the fact that a lot of activities throw away any carcasses/furs you might have on your horse) I stopped paying attention when they pop up on screen.

 

But if I am not carrying anything at the moment I might not mind PvE events if there was a list.

 

So, can someone point me to such a PvE event list if one exists, or simply post any PvE events that you know (ideally with QA brief description of what they are and how they function)?

You can check here for an up to date list of free roam events.

 

 

And the vast majority are not PvP. In fact it's a fairly even split of the scheduled events. But there are others that come up between these events that are not PvP. Here are the latest ones grouped by category.

From what I've heard, pve things end off being pvp.

Master Archer  turns into people just shooting each other frequently, and the legendary animal events are always 'lasso kid' festivals.

 

They gain nothing by the lasso trolling, and during master archer I suppose potentially they could protect their lead by killing other players, but this doesn't work if there are more than one who are close in score, so it's mainly for the trolling.

Trade Route tends to get ruined by f*ckwits throwing dynamite around liberally and wrecking the goods in their trolling attempts.

I don't know anyone who ever does the wildlife photo one, so it may run as designed.

 

The pvp events can be fun if the skill levels are fairly evenly matched, often there are people who are masters of them so you don't stand much of a chance of improving.

There really should be some kind of rating based event entry to match up players with similar skill ratings.

Higher skill players would be matched with each other to provide more challenge.

Easy wins are no more fun than total losses, except for the people who get off on blasting noobs.

I have notifications turned off cuz I got tired of invites popping up every few minutes so I have no idea what events they have anymore.

 

I agree with the rating thing too. Would be nice if lobbies were set up for certain rank levels. Like 1-150 in a lobby. 151-300 in a lobby. Anything over 300 in another lobby. I really wish, more than anything, they would bring back separate free aim lobbies. A lot less problems with other players in those.

Even a k/d system might work, as long as it only received stats from showdowns (NOT freeroam or FRE), and perhaps if it ranked those by type of showdown: hardcore vs standard, with weapon pick up showdowns counting for more points than ones allowing custom weapons & ammo.

Not completely but I think it has been slashed down to appear only once now in the full 24 hour list.

Ty, it sounds that due to misbehaviors even the PvE events are a waste of time.

Actually I Saw what you meant, the other day. 

Was a "player kills in free roam with a repeater", so I joined "master archer", obviously!

So I got my 3 kills pretty fast, going way overboard figuring it would all be try hards so I was using explosive rounds to boot!

Then I notice something I've never seen before...

 

They were all JUST ... DOING MASTER ARCHER, AS DESIGNED!

So I was dead last, also being the only person with any kills (just the 3 for the challenge, though, I'm not a TOTAL JERK! I lol'd, but felt bad.)

 

So I think of ANY of them that ALLOW PVP as being "PVP."

Never understood the 'logic' behind allowing firearms!!!! and player killing in Master Archer.

And you can run out of arrows in MA (though you can pick up arrows from targets), but in target races you can't.

Stupid design.

 

There have been a few 'Protect LA' events I've seen - on live streams - were not popular because they drag on forever so people get bored (seems that's where the lasso foolishness started).

During the gator mission you definitely can get eaten by the LA, I assume the bear will as well.

That seems to be the point of the lasso thing: drag a player in front of the LA so they get munched, and when you die you're out it seems.

 

Again, stupid design if they left that mechanic in by accident, however I suspect they did it on purpose, which shows their mentality: purposely make a boring event so people will grief each other.

And throw in some NPC enemies so they can pretend they didn't mean to make a sh*t event.

Firearms should be disabled in Master Archer, but PvP shouldn't. At it's best, I quite enjoy riding the fine line of getting as many bullseyes as possible while also trying to sneak in a few quick strategic kills against the people just ahead of or behind you on the scoreboard.

I'm not sure but you can't autoaim with a bow can you? If not I would kinda like doing that archer thing.

Not really sure, I play free aim. I'm pretty sure I can recall being able to autoaim with a bow back when I played when that way, at least in free roam, but it may be disabled in Master Archer.
