The new Bolas

Are the new bolas from the new bounty Hunter expansion better than the old ones in anyway?  

Or am I just risking losing $75+ every time I throw them at a $30 bounty target?

OnlyPvPCat tested them, they're just expensive cosmetic changes.

 

 

For that price they should be insured against loss, but no, of course they're not.

Well, let's be honest here, dollars ingame a worthless, gold is where the true value is. Anyone who has played for a month or 2 will have enough dollars to start using them as toiletpaper.

Holy sh*t that is f*cking ridiculous.

 

I reckon I lose maybe 1 in every ten or at least every twenty bolas I throw, so I already thought that they were expensive as it was at $30. At $120 for the expensive ones, there is no way I can justify spending that kind of money.  Jesus Christ.

Can’t really agree with that.  With the exception of buying outlaw passes and professions, $ are more valuable than gold.  It generally takes less time to earn the $ equivalent of any gold.

 

$120 is probably an hour or so worth of playing time.  No way is that worth it.  Even the original bolas were overpriced given that they cost the same amount as you earned from bringing in a bounty.  $75-$120 is ridiculous.  That’s what we pay for guns that we can never lose.

I never claimed to be "gud"

I haven't done bounties for ages, doing a few now to get the new 10 ranks, after that...who knows. It's my least favourite activity by a large margin.

I think I lost 1 or 2 of the originals by missing the target and still have loads of the damned things in my lockbox.

I certainly don't need more, especially if they don't actually do anything the first ones don't.

These are a waste of money any way you look at it.

They could be useful, you can carry 9 more bolas.

But that also means it's more items to scroll through in the weapon wheel.

Hate scrolling through 17 long arm weapons in missions, freemode events and such.

I really want to get rid of my sh*tty lasso, sh*tty old camera, sh*tty old binoculars and what else.

AdamNortonUk (guy who posts the dailies list    ) 

pointed out (think it was him) that you can use the crappier lasso

on the same targets to get lassoing a bounty target to COUNT AGAIN for the daily!

So it does have its use, I suppose.

 

Buy yeah, it would be nice to have the choice to get rid of the extra stuff.

This was the reason I did not buy the fancier binoculars, after findng out I'd have to carry two of them;

plus people reported that what they were supposed to do really did not seem to work (seeing collectables

from far away.)

away the 3 old bolas on purpose to only carry the new ones? Or are the new ones

in separate lists from each other???? I wish they could all just be in one list (so one

choice on the wheel, maybe just put the old ones at the END of the list if you've lost the new ones.)

 

I've not bought those yet either, fearing more inventory crowding on the wheel.

Also, those don't seem worth it for a cosmetic difference that is hardly noticable when

using them in game.

They are a seperate ‘slot’ like how the reinforced and the old lassos take up two spaces.  
Not like how the hunting/lancer/jawbone knives are all in the same spot.

Well, if the bolas get lost on some uses... then they are only usable during daily challenges that require them, as you get gold for those.

Well to me it's the complete opposite. I spent dollars every day and only spend gold maybe once every 3 months.

While I do think they don't work as well as they should, you shouldn't think of those binoculars as something related to collecting, instead think of them as eagle vision with zoom. Granted might not increase their usefulness to you but yeah I've at least find them marginally useful for other things like hunting as well.

I find them useful for locating treasure chests from treasure maps.  Not sure that is worth what they cost, but they have come in handy.

So if one buys 3 standard bolas, how many Gravesend Bolas can they own? Does that number change whether or not we have regular bolas?

I can't understand why these new bolas aren't variants you scroll through while the basic bola is selected, like how the knife and it's variants work. I hate scrolling through multiple bolas these wheels are already clogged enough -_-

Yeah but my point is that in the weapon wheel each variation takes up it's own slot, instead of the basic bola taking up one slot and then you selecting which bola type you want to use like how the knife currently operates. I get that the bolas are a multi use item unlike the unlimited use knife, but they could easily show that in the UI, and if a bola is out it's greyed out until you get more. 

 

It's a nit pick sure but when I'm running around trying to quickly select a bola I have to scroll through multiple different ones depending on which one I want to use, it's just awkward.
