You are now tasked with creating the most believable fake GTA 6 leak. How do you proceed?

I’d probably use the few potentially genuine leaks as sources, such as the scouting letter, so even Len LFC would admit its unlikely, but still possible to be real. I’d also keep in mind the game will be “moderately sized” so not go too extreme with the wishlist. I’d also make up stuff that has valid business points but is made up by me, such as the game will be announced a couple years before it releases to build up hype.

Find the guy who will report any leak as real no matter how fake it is and then just send him whatever.

come up with a single, detailed piece of information. a screenshot with no context, or a well made map concept. just like the early rdr2 leaks.

face it, gta 6 is never coming :kekw:

Logic.

Look at it from Rockstar's point of view. Despite what some want on here. Rockstar knows that only a handful of cities are marketable. New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago and possibly Boston or Washington DC. I will eat my hat if GTA VI, VII, VIII does not feature at least one of those cities. NY and LA have been done recently so scratch those. Chicago has never done been done but may be seen as too similar to NY. Boston and DC would not hold their own in standalone games and would have be coupled with NY so that won't happen soon. That leaves Miami, Las Vegas and San Francisco. San Andreas was featured in V and so I can't seeing them doing LV and SF next. That leaves Miami as the big one missing. Most of the fans want it and it has been referenced in both IV and V. Therefore logic leaves with VC.

The next one is scope. Rockstar knows many loved the scope and scale of SA. Three cities and countryside. They also know many loved the depth of IV's LC. They should also know that V's single city and countryside faced criticism. The logic would then be two cities and countryside, with the depth of IV but expanded. With Vice City as the main city, a leak should either venture north or south. Work from that basis and keep it simple.

That sounds just like how I would like the map to be. Having the southern part of Florida with Miami and Orlando would be awesome! That’s a very good point

Make up a bunch of fake rumors on the internet, make people believe me, then with some money buy some ad space on buses and billboards in major cities, pay some social media influencers to tease fake stuff kinda like the Fyre festival tatics, buy some tv ads teasing a date, somehow trick people into thinking it's Rockstar and making it one of the biggest fake marketing campaigns ever to make people stay tuned for a fake date.

This would you require you to have sh*t tons of dollars, that you are willing to dump on a trolling campaign.

And if you do have of sh*t ton of money, you might as well pay a videogame agency to forge a fake GTA trailer.

Furthermore, you could even pay a few millions to some hackers (or bribe a twitter employee) for them to hack Rockstar's twitter account for you and then you can tweet #GTAVI with the trailer mentioned above.

You'd also need to dump a f*ck ton of money on lawyers when Rockstar eventually catches yo ass.

Over the course of three months post on either GTAForums or reddit claiming to work for Rockstar.

January '21 - post a lengthy statement on the protagonists name, plot, location

February '21 - pop up again and post the "map" along with concept art of characters (very believable looking art)

March '21 - post in game pic of the character, again very believable looking

Days later delete my account

Here's a better question:

You're a Rockstar employee tasked with actually announcing GTA6. How do you do it without the internet immediately thinking it's another hoax? 😏😉

Well, I mean .... yeah. Probably the fact that it'll also be announced at some big press event will help, too.

I just meant in the sense that, after all the official-looking fake screenshots and clickbait videos, it'll be hard to for most to believe it's the real thing when it actually drops.

Pretend to be an outside source on something that *might* be for GTA VI but isn't *definitely* for GTA VI. For example, I'd pretend to be somebody working at a weather station or something in Florida and say we got a request from a video game publisher for detailed weather data between the years of, say, 1975 and 1995, as well as specific data on natural disasters, such as hurricanes, from 1980 to 1990. Also act like I am a casual gamer who has a vague interest in the GTA series, without being an absolutely huge fan, and saw a news article online about the Project Americas leak a short while ago, which is why I noticed the connection. When pressed about what kind of weather data, I'd say the average amount of rainfall, cloud density, wind speeds and hours of sunshine per day for each month, as well as the lowest and highest amounts of rainfall and wind speeds recorded, and weather patterns, e.g. how long does a storm usually last, what's the prevailing wind direction etc.

Develop another game that is similar to GTA and then leak a screenshot from that game and claim it's GTA VI.

1970s Detroit, surrounded by Great Lakes and corn fields (with plenty of UFO activity)! Micheal type character - a low level union worker climbing the ladder of mafia endeavors to take over the automotive industry as the next Jimmy Hoffa, after he takes out the first Jimmy Hoffa of coarse! Franklin type character- a young tagger rising through the ranks in a world full of pimps, pushers and panthers to become the next Superfly, with plenty of blaxploitation homage! Trevor type character- a Vietnam POW Vet home from the war early to become a loose cannon biker immersed in a life of sex, drugs and plenty of rock & roll, with in-game flashbacks of Nam!

Model a bunch of palm trees in Blender and stick a bunch of modernist buildings and skyscrapers in the distance with a clear view of the ocean. Import some GTA car models from the HD Universe and place them accordingly in the scene. Render the animation of the palm trees swaying and sh*t and some guy with a gun sitting on the hood of the car and filter it with a neonish filter. Slap a fake GTA 6 logo at the end through a cool fadeout and then bingo, a completely believable fake gta 6 teaser that would get 15 million views on youtube in three days.

Using mods, create a fake email claims it's some sort of the "GTA VI beta testing program"...
