The truth is that I mistook the side of the wagon that the door was really on and she just lit me up while I was trying to climb up the side of it. The door was on the other side.... Who tries to climb up the side of a wagon with a freaking mounted gun aimed at your head? My character having to bend to the will of my bad judgement, that's who.

After all of complaints and petitions and calls for boycotts based on greed, not that those were illegitimate, but I think its pretty clear that to do what R* has done with RDO and GTAO is extremely difficult to do.   There really is no competitor.  To see Cyberpunk go down in flames with only a single player...can you imagine if they had tried to go for an online world.

It looks like Cyberpunk failed miserably on consoles at least.

Been doing legendary bounties lately because why not. Extra cash and gold is always nice. I think legendaries are the best way to make gold anyway after the great nerf of dailies.

Open world games have VERY steep demands in terms of ongoing maintenance, etc.

 

Yes, R* did a pretty good job of keeping GTA Online running, but it's not so much the technical side of R* that's so poor (though there are times...).

 

It's the upper management decision-level aspect that needs a complete 180-degree turn. GTA Online and RDO could easily be several times better than they currently are, and potentially making even more money.

Their attitude should have been the first thing to change long ago.

I heard TagBackTV say they started basically cutting off contact after getting grief over something or other GTA related years ago, they should have a thicker skin. Some people will always emphasize the negative, but most will be understanding if they feel you're genuinely doing your best. sh*t happens, anyone who won't accept that is being unreasonable.

 

Now it's too late.

 

I probably give the impression that I would never buy dlc from any dev, but I would have and have with others, (777 studios 'Rise of Flight' for example, I bought every single extra they made, glad to do it) if their attitude was open and encouraging.

I don't mind supporting people who are worthy of the expense and effort, are genuinely trying to make their product as good as it can be.

Then faults can be easily accepted, delays are not an issue, communication and a friendly manner go a very, very long way to ameliorating problems. Some issues are inevitable, nothing ever goes as planned, but remaining silent and aloof just seems extremely arrogant, and no one likes arrogance.

Mistakes happen, never admitting them and acting like every issue is the fault of the end user does not engender goodwill.

 

Openly treating your customers like morons is a sure recipe for failure, they may learn that or not.

I honestly don't care any more.

I love this game and will play it as long as I feel that enjoyment, but whatever else greedstar ever does in future I'm not having any part of it.

I guess buying 9 of their games is enough.

Other companies know how to provide customer satisfaction, so that's where my money will go if I like their ideas.

They are not beyond criticism.  But until a competitor comes along,we are going to be subject to their crappy business decisions.  I bet whoever pushed for and approved the standalone, assumingly to compete with CP2077, is probably worried they are on the chopping block.

Cyperpunk needed to release just in current gen, or wait for next year to optimize... greed from their investor screwed them, as they do to all.
