Volume Bug

[HAR_GP]

Since the latest update I have to go into volume mixer and reset the game volume ( it is at 5%) EVERY time I start it. Why is this happening? and when will it be fixed

Ya, I've been having the same problem.  Glad it's not just me.

Same here on PC.

Looks like it may become one of the permanent bugs.

I sure hope not--I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of someone at R* getting time to tackle it... though how long that will be is anyone's guess. Could be the next "big" update.

 

I'm quite impressed that R* -actually- fixed all the loading bugs and crashes I (and others) were experiencing. It runs quite well again.

 

The stuttering issue I saw earlier seems to have disappeared too; thankful for that!

It is still not fixed.  Very annoying.

 

Almost as annoying is when you are in the silly load screens and the game keeps stealing the focus.  I mean come on!!! If the game isn't ready let us at least browse the web and do other stuff in peace.

I thought it was something else and have been trying to fix the issue for the last week, I didn’t once think it was the actual game since it shouldn’t be able to control the volume at OS level if you haven’t given it permission to either!

Still no idea how this is happening, but I have noticed the volume remains set at the level you had it last until you get to the menu, where you select your camp, or region, showdowns, etc.

The menu screen is where the volume drops.

I am wondering what Graphics Card every is using, as I didn't think it started happening until I install the latest couple NVIDIA Drivers as I swear I didn't have the issue when I was using a beta or insider version of NVIDIA Drivers only the last two official drivers, that said as I mentioned before it shouldn't even be able to change the volume at OS level either since you haven't given it permission to and would most likely be a breach of some privacy if any one had the money to issue a lawsuit against Rockstar to something this small, since being able to control your system even if it's just the volume shouldn't be allowed to happen as what else is Rockstar able to control at OS level, even if it is a bug that is causing it and not intentional.

I'm an AMD fan, both CPU and GPU: RX580, drivers have been updated twice since this started, so that's 3 sets of drivers without fixing the sound issue.

Hmm I must have not noticed it before or but I have recently bought a new 8K AV Receiver so I was messing about with sound and Dolby Atmos and everything after the update so I may have just thought it was myself that was changing the volume mixer, since I'm going to be 36 years old at Christmas (well the day after), my memory isn't the same any more haha so it could have been happening and I didn't notice but now I have every perfect on the Audio / Visual side I have only noticed it over the last week properly. Hopefully it's fixed next week as I always keep forgetting about adjusting the volume mixer so turn up the AV Receiver and then something else I'm doing at full volume then scares the sh*t out of me as I forget about just changing the game volume in the volume mixer on PC!

I mean I'm a slight audiophile so it definitely bugs me, especially after I've replaced my whole AV setup, which wasn't cheap by a long stretch (not cause of the bug) so when things aren't perfect it just annoys me having to fix something a developer has broken, in this case Rockstar.

This bug is sh*tting me to tears.

 

I've also had the issue where I've increased the volume from 3% to 70% while the game was in the menu, and after loading into the world the game would play at 3% volume regardless of where the volume slider is set in Windows settings. The only fix is to restart. There is definitely some weird f*ckery going on in the menu.

 

They NEED to fix this sooner rather than later.

While we won't know if it will help make sure everyone submits a bug report to Rockstar. The forums are one thing but if they start getting hundreds of actual reports to their support team it will hopefully get it fixed faster.

My guess is since it isn't affecting their gold sales or not some kind of method players created to make the game more enjoyable for themselves, it won't be fixed any time soon.
