This is what I use:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Yshs6oLPwRFgk_zdgUiLkxbUd1S8Lqc-riiSFxnfXfU/edit?usp=sharing
You can easily make your own version, or copy my sheet and replace the information with your own.

If you really wanted to, you could even take it a step further, enlargen the cells and insert pictures of each of your cars.

I just generalize what are in my garages based on either country of origin (USA, Germany, Japan, England, Italy, etc) or by type (luxury, muscle, sports, trucks, super, tuner, etc)

Main CEO garage (60 slots) is kind of a musuem to the old days of GTA Online. All my favourite cars that have been in the game from day 1 are in here, mainly Sports and Super. Along with all the newest top-end sports and supers.

Nightclub garage (40 slots) is for any car I own but hardly ever use

Casino Penthouse garage is for cars I always use for racing

Arcade Garage is for vehicles I use in Freeroam (Scramjet, Nightshark etc.)

Then I have:

10 car garage of muscle cars

10 car garage for cars that are setup for drifting (Rapid GT, Futo, etc)

10 car garage for cars with liveries and/or massive customisation (Pisswasser Dominator, Banshee 900R Custom, etc)

10 car garage in Paleto Bay with cars I like to cruise around in to get away from the city life (Stirling GT, Carbonizzare etc.)

That's about the only organisation I have. My other garages are empty now.

I never understood asking for advice on something that's almost completely subjective.

As for memorization, well I'm into cars so remembering what's what is pretty easy so that's useless info as well.

He wasn't asking for something subjective though...

You can organize cars by year, origin, class, real life comparison, liveries, etc. And how you choose to do that is completely subjective.

I put them into the first available spot I see when I buy a new car. I know for sure that the Vigilante is in the service entrance, motorcycles are in the clubhouse and favorite Supers are in the stilt house.  Everything else is lumped together but for the most part I know where things are by memory.

Long ago I tried to keep everything sort of separated by class. Sports here, Muscle there. Garages all around the map. Beat up cars and trucks in Paleto, etc.  These days I just parachute from the top of my office, steal a car and drive over to the Casino to spin the wheel. After that I become bored and turn off the game. I just buy cars because I have to spend the money on something.

Good job quoting out of context. You really proved your point.

But asking others how they organise their cars in their garages is not subjective. It's asking a question to provoke conversation and ideas, which is what forums are for...

I tend to organise by use.

A garage for Supers and Sports, one for Specialist vehicles, one for most used etc.

I have one dedicated to farmed vehicles for selling (Sentinal, Sandkings etc) near an LSC

Plus, because I am useless at remembering which ones I have modded, I have one for new vehicles (either taken off the streets or bought). Once modded they get placed in the respective garage.

CEO Garages are organized for meets, the rest are organized by class. Sometimes I bring cars outside of the CEO garage to meets but my "cleanest" stuff is in my CEO garage with a garage level dedicated to muscle, JDM and euro respectively.

Also my Nightclub is my Mopar warehouse but while impressive to look at, I might need to write down which car is which as I often pick the wrong car. I wish you could name all your cars like you can the Arena War cars. I could tell which Gauntlet Classic is a '70 T/A vs a '71 R/T vs a 70' Cuda and which one's have vinyl tops, which one's have elastomeric bumpers etc

When i was just starting off i had quite randomized sorting, there were few enough vehicles that i could just remember what was where, then at some point (around the 12 garages/100 vehicles mark) i started sorting stuff by class, that worked well for quite a few years, but these days i have more then 10 vehicles in most of the classes (so more then 1 garage worth) so now while i still have my class garages with most of the older stuff, i also have 'dlc garages', where i just have everything of a related dlc in the best fitting garage for it (casino heist vehicles in arcade garage, casino vehicles in penthouse garage, doomsday vehicles in facilty, gunrunning vehicles in garage closest to bunker, etc etc)

The real sorting problems start when you win the casino podium vehicles often, i already had to give up an office garage & 10car garage for it, about to hit a point where i need to swap that 10car garage for another office garage 😛

I also like to have garages next to other things so everythings close.

If you own the La Mesa Arcade, there is a 10 car garage next door, as well as one across the road, and another on the next block too, all very close to the mod shop as well.

I like owning the 10 car near the airport too, as well as one in Paleto Bay, so you have the whole map covered. You can then change your spawn location and when you join a new lobby you can start pretty much anywhere you want to on the map which is handy too.

I've organized everything by class or make, Muscle cars, tuners, and supers in my office garages; Ferrari and Lamborgini in one apartment; liveried race cars in another; sedans and coupes, motorcycles in my club house and a 6 car apartment; a pick truck garage; convertibles/topless cars in a garage; a garage of lowriders. And things I don't use in the arena garages (it seemed appropriate).

My office garage 1 is progen/mclaren on ground floor.  Pegasi/Lamborghini  in floor 2 and Grotti/Ferrari on floor 3

office garage 2 is all sports classics, (ground floor is my priceless cobra collection)

office garage 3 is all muscle cars

I have a garage full of sports, another garage full of supers, a garage full of off-roaders, a German garage (pfisters one side, ubermacht the other) a predominantly fast Ford garage, a jap import garage, a hot rod shop. Casino garage is all luxury cars. Night club and arena are where it all goes wrong, but one nightclub floor is sports bikes, clubhouse is just choppers. Always keep nightclub service entrance empty for lucky wheel wins

With all the garages, arcade, crate warehouses, and mc clubhouse, I feel like I own half of La Mesa sometimes.

my favourite apartment (Sustancia) isn’t too far away either
