Very excited for this. Anyone else? I'm not that big of a Fincher fan(though, as a director, he's undoubtedly one of the best), but I absolutely adore Orson Welles and his movies. I'm one of those people who still genuinely enjoys Citizen Kane, so, hopefully, I'm in for a treat.

I'm a fan of Fincher, especially after watching Mindhunter and more recently Zodiac, so naturally MANK got my attention. And Gary Oldman. This is bound be great.

Don't half look like Stephen Graham in that picture on that video, lol.

Yeah, I'm down for this though I must admit I've not actually seen Citizen Kane I'm ashamed to say guven I love classic cinema. But this reminds me to do so as soon as I can

As @Mister Pink mentioned, the director can offer some real movie gold so here's hoping for more.

Yeah man! :)  Gone Girl, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I need to rewatch Se7en as I haven't seen in about 20 years when I was definitely too young and didn't know anything enough to appreciate, even though I enjoyed it. God, I can remember something I haven't seen in 20 years. I'm getting old.

If anyone wants to get hyped on MANK through Fincher, this is a nice short look at analysis of his work and what you can expect in terms of the energy he put's in to the craft. He says they'll do 7 takes. Then, they're ready to begin. He's notorious for doing a lot of takes but hey.. you can't argue with the results.

You're telling me, blimey!

At least when I do go to watch a film like Citizen Kane which is well before my time, mentally I already know that the film is old. But when I go back and watch a 90's flick like Fincher's Se7en, or even some Gary Olman gold I remember as if it was yesterday, I read the blurb on the back of the case and see something like '1996' (for The Fifth Element as example) and I'm like 'what, nearly 25 years ago. Wow!' It's crazy. 🤣

Kubrick be like 'you ain't got crap on me' 🤣

But yeah, you've definitely got to be in the moment to really get these types of directors engaged and then as you said, the results start to shine through. Gary Oldman is certainly an actor that can go there and really embrace a role too. I mean, just a few minutes in True Romance, but stole that scene. Cracking stuff.
