What are the main issues with the new update?

Well, different people enjoy different things. Is that so hard to understand?

I honestly prefer RDRO over GTA Online because of it's simplicity.

My main issue is that a private lobby option was not added with the latest update.

Yeah. They can add all the crazy crap they want and I'd even give the awful gold nerfing on dailies a pass if they offered lobby choices.

If anything, they could keep the dailies gold as it was for those in public and offer the current halved payouts for invite and I'd be fine with that. Could even stop me using trader/moonshiner for all I care like GTA with businesses being public only.

I'll never see the silly nonsense to break my immersion and role playing with lobby options. If a DLC comes and did offer that freedom of lobby choice, they could literally put anything in the game and I'd rate it a 10/10. 🤣🤠

Why I keep lingering and returning to this game I don't yet know.

I've run in to quite a few new bugs with the update.  Moonshiner Shack is still a game of Russian roulette, so nothing new there.   But tonight I was unable to 'clean/repair' any of my guns myself. I had to go to a weaponsmith to do it. The option was completely removed from the weapon wheel sub-menu.   I couldn't shop new Saddles since my L3 and D-Pad buttons did not work in any of the horse Saddle sub-menus in the Stable.  I was able to buy a new skin for my Bounty Wagon though.   Misc freezes and non-starts to some bounty missions, especially when grouped.  Not a surprise, but still very dissapointing.

It seems like they're kind of throwing changes at the wall to see what sticks, without really any cohesive thought to an overall game plan.  My buddy and I went all in on Bounty hunter, Outlaw pass, etc...because at this point they are the only thing qualifying as 'new content' in a 'wild west' survival/sandbox environment we enjoy tramping around in, despite everything.  We had the in-game gold to afford it, so figured why not.  I think the gold nerfs to content / item cost ratio is a pretty big cynical kick in the pants. Maybe it was necessary to slow down gold earning, but I'd like to have seen it done more elagantely.  Definately should be a gold reward for achieving a 28 day streak. I'm thinking 10gp seems about right.  $cash Reward is pretty useless, frankly.

So much they could, and should be doing with this game. But it's very clear we are getting their B or C team and their B or C effort on this thing.

I do. Despite the many issues with the game it's still awesome.

XP froze on the pass for me.  Did the new legendary bounty, after finishing got 3000+XP but nothing counted toward the pass. Shut the game off and switched consoles. Can't clean guns in a posse as previously mentioned.  Drinking strong moonshine daily hasn't been working all of the time.  I couldn't get it at all yesterday, but got it the other day no problem.  Collectors maps daily didn't work for me either, it only counted 1.

I understand that, what I don't understand is why people accept Rockstar doing so much sh*t to this game.

It's only sad because the more people accept this lazy content from Rockstar, the less this game will need to evolve. Why is Rockstar going to invest in this if giving crumbs are there players like you who accept and think everything is ok?

Me too! I've been playing RDO since 2018 in the beta, it's an infinitely better experience than GTAO imo, I have enough gold bars to keep quiet and not complain. But I love this game more than the developer itself, so I just gave up.

It's a beautiful open world with (relatively, compared to games like Escape from Tarkov) low stress that I can run around in is pretty much my reasoning... but it also has no competition, which it really needs.

Yes, but that's a good thing. It sets a high bar for other games to live up to. I've played other games like Ghost Recon that looks alright but lacks detail. The amount of effort that's been put into the details in Red Dead is incredible. Little things that most others haven't even though of. The way your character moves differently when you're running along the top of a roof and looking a bit off balance. The sweat marks and dust that builds up over time on your horse. The marks that carts and footprints leave in the mod. The vapour that comes from your mouth when you're in a cold area. The list is almost endless and all quite incredible. It almost feels like two teams worked on Red Dead. The graphics people who got everything absolutely perfect and the game mechanics team who are a bit shoddy.

Yes, the open world is beautiful, but eventually it isn't enough to keep interest, at least for me. Game graphics aren't normally why I purchase games and they definitely are not a reason I will continue to play it if I feel the game makers are not acting in good faith. Honestly, taking time playing the story, not rushing along at all, is a lot more enjoyable than playing online for me. Even though nothing in SP is being updated, it still is way better than online to me.

I'm willing to bet that's the case (two teams were involved).

IMNSHO, the game mechanics (and animations as they relate to mechanics) team needs dire replacement. The modal issues alone in RDO are case in point for that--unlike GTA Online's animations and mechanics that work quite well.

They may as well have a dialog box that appears telling you to wait while animation X finishes before you can resume your next action.

The animations are a bit clunky and not very smooth in transition into or out of it in most cases, then the idea that you can't get out of an animation if you need to (like being attacked) is absurd.

Possibly a bug/issue with the update?

I've been doing the

"10 infamous bounty posters completed

gold payout"

Thing under progress and then role/bounty (one of the new ones added, which don't award a buckle but gold instead.)

I'm at 9/10, with them going off without a hitch.

Now I'm stuck on the second (I presume?) part of the Blackwater infamous Thaddeous gang $$$ one.

The first part went off easily, catch the two guys in Thieves landing.

The problem I have with the second part is it never LOADS; I simply get that grayed out bounty 'X", like before it loads,

but it never does. I can go around in game, fish/whatever, but if I try to take fast travel it says

"you can't fast travel while on a mission."

So it basically "locks" me up. My only choice is to go to online selections and "free roam" again and try again, with the same thing

happening.

Have other people experienced this?

Am I just supposed to wait 40 minutes??

I tried to look up the possible issue, but am not finding it. The only clue I have is that this one does
NOT put you inj a private session, like some of them do. The only info I found on it is that

" Blackwater 2 has another cool train sequence..." By "2", I'm assuming the part I'm on, so the

culprit is likely the "train sequence" since it isn't in a private lobby. I wonder if you are waiting

in line, if someone else is doing it?

The weird part is that some of these infamous ones put you in a private lobby for really NO REASON;

they don't really involve stuff that other players could probably mess with. Then some don't put you in a private

lobby. The cutscene ones usually put you in a private one. So I'm surprised this one doesn't.  I even tried

doing another one first, that put me in a private lobby, but by the time I was starting the 2nd part of the Blackwater

one I was back in public with 14 people/whatever.

I'd like to continue with the Blackwater one since I'm at 9/10 for the gold for doing infamous bounties,

while I've already completed part of that one.

Same, never had a problem with it working before.

The only thing that will work for me is menu/online,

then "free roam",

so then I'm roughly outside my shack again when I get back in game,

then I go in the shack and usually getting the shine behind the bar

counts for "strong moonshine drank" now.

This is something I would hope to see fixed. I can tell you that in real life a person isn't going to continue to pick an herb while a bear is charging at them, only to be mauled to death.

The life they put into the game is amazing and so detailed there are times when I just have to stop and watch what is going on around me. And how the reactions change so much, like how the character swats flies from their face in the swamps and how the horses seem to be more agitated down there because of all the biting. It's so subtle but amazing to notice.

Just yesterday I actually saw my guy picking his nose and wiping it away, I was like that is so gross but so cool at the same time! 😁

This game could be so much if they would just get their act together.
