A real shame as well, it looks breath taking on a high end PC.. until it crashes any way.

I had an issue with crashing early on as well. I honestly don't even know what I did to address the issue, but I tried many things. I switched to dx12, I ran it in compatibility mode, I did a bunch of other stuff. For me, turned out my XMP was undervolting my RAM... not sure why, but it solved a bunch of other problems too. Since I resolved that, I disabled all the compatibility modes, put it back on vulkan and all has been well. Not saying the issue is with everyone's components, but it's a good place to look for most people. Especially considering the massive amount of tweaking and "auto" settings on PC's. What may run 12 games just fine crashes another every time. Although, I do suspect it's mostly driver related, as do most. The problem is that it could be something in a BIOS that needs updated, GPU Driver related, Windows Update related... etc etc... So here is hoping you figure it out and are able to play. I personally think it's worth trying because how will you know until you try? Of course the internet will be full of complaints, it's the internet. And the small issues look like big ones because they get shared by people having them. That does not mean the majority of people are having them, just that a lot of people shared it.

I honestly haven't had random crashes in a big while, and when I did it was related to a RAM overclock...

Never had random crashes either. Never had a problem with the game period, until this sound issue became a thing with the latest patch.

Which I'm still baffled hasn't been fixed yet. Not even a hotfix. Why do we need to wait for a RDO update to get anything? Haven't touched the game in a while, been waiting for a new patch. But whatever, I'm keeping busy with Max Payne 3 for now.

So, coming back to this game after a while, trying my new hardware... and immideately running into a lot of issues.

Will the low volume on startup bug be fixed? It is mildly annoying.

And the game just wont display a picture if I try to use it in HDR Mode... any tipps on how I get this to work normally without me trying to start the game 5 times until I even see the start menu?

I am rather dissapointed. Now that I have the hardware to view it in all its 4k HDR Glory game simply does not want to run. Only managed to do the Benchmark 2 times by now.

After that I tried to up the volume in the audio mixer, and since then I could not start the game again. I just do not get any picture after the Rockstar Games Logo.

DirectX 12 Problems: I get occassional framedrops to 3 or 4 FPS. Variable Refresh Rate in DX12 Fullscreen Mode is not working. Switched back to Vulcan.

If you exit the game with HDR enabled, game wont start the next time. You get no picture after the Rockstar Games Logo.

You have to Disable HDR in Windows, start the game, exit game, and launch it again.

It seems you cant get HDR and VRR to work at the same time. Even got some game crashes trying to get it to work.

How long did you have to fix this by now?!?

EDIT2: Ok, some further testing revealed HDR and VRR is brocken in other games to.

The Windows 10 Update has broken some things it seems.

AAAnd another EDIT:

The VRR problems where caused by the last Nvidia Graphics driver not recognising my Display as GSync Compatible it seems. They already released a hotfix driver for this.

But the HDR Problems persist.
