Salvage Mode Tips

I don’t find anything during Salvage Mode.

 

The items I see at beginning with Eagle Eye always get grabbed by other players before me, if I start to use metal detector everyone swarms my spot and digs items up first or I spend entire tine running around to these white blips on mini-map that have nothing there when I arrive!

 

I want to like this mode, but at most can only find 6 collectibles and last match came up empty-handed with literally nothing.
