Lazlo_
I am not certain that I understand the question. If you are replacing a model, it will use the same ID. If you are adding a new object rather than replacing one: When I create a new object, I just write a new entry into the respective IDE file. However in my case, it is usually a mapped object. I usually stay in the 19000 range which seems to be free of other ID numbers. That is where I naturally add the other requisite information also, as can be seen in the IDE files. Some custom models may come with a list of other data that may need to be altered for replacements; config data etc. They are usually included in READMEs or as file replacements. However, its always important to remember to back up any previous working file before replacing or altering it. I hope this was helpful and invite others to add to, clarify or correct this information. Edited December 2, 2020 by Lazlo_
