Yeah, just saw that. To be fair, the role isn't for me much even before this so not sure if it's good or bad. (Though 'tailing off considerably' is food for thought).

 

Just crazy how we all thought the streak ending was all they had up their sleeves but the completely halved it too.

So just to clarify:

 

 If you do 1-2 challenges per day which is what a lot of people did to maintain the streak and slowly build up gold you will have went from an average of 28 gold per month with a max streak to 10.

 

If you did every single challenge every day of every week you are going from 308 gold per month to 107.8.

 

They have nerfed the gold payouts from daily challenges by 65%.

I looked at all the challenges, including role ones and they all said 0.1 for me. Ahh well.

Just looked at my list again and I have a 2.5x multiplier applied so it could just be a bug as I finished them all but one earlier today, so from tomorrow it will most likely be back to 0.10 per challenge for week one, since I didn't even get a +1 day streak due to doing the Dailies already today so my streak won't reset properly until tomorrow it would seem.

So going forward when everyone streak properly reset, it should go like this.
Week 1 - 0.10 gold nuggets per challenge

Week 2 - 0.15 gold nuggets per challenge

Week 3 - 0.20 gold nuggets per challenge

Week 4 - 0.25 gold nuggets per challenge

 

I have updated rdodailies.com accordingly, so the gold counter at the top should match with the new pay out of gold by changing the multiplier in the only setting the site has near the bottom of the page.

It's always tailed off after 10 minutes. 
The base was $1.50 a minute for the first 10 minutes, then $0.75 after that. 
At least I have something to spreadsheet now I guess.

The reduction on gold payout will be much harder on many gamers then losing their long streaks I assume. It will be so for me as well,  I was not so pessimistic on the 28 day streak issue but paired with half payout then its a bit different.

 

However as I have said before, in a game where gold has come easy, maybe we as players benefit a bit gamewise in the sense that we really have to start to think about what items we want to spend our earned gold on. This could have a positive effect. For me knowing that I could buy the "entire game" cause I am rich enough gives me less pleasure in the gaming economy then knowing that I actually have to think about what I will use my gold on.

Not a fan of this change but I have accumulated a lot of gold this past year so maybe this "deflation" will increase its value...  properties would be nice...

Hopefully everything will become clearer tomorrow, that's the trouble with having a reset half way through the day as those who didn't do challenges before update have the new correct values whilst those who completed the dailies before the update still have old multipliers applied and hopefully you know by now I try to get everything correct at least to the best of my ability heh. 

So tomorrow's daily challenge reset, everyone should be the same multiplier so there is less confusion.

I was annoyed by the change in rewards for challenges, but I have over 700 gold and $23,000 or so saved up so it's not like I'm spending it anywhere.  I did the role and daily challenges more out of trying to accomplish the tasks rather than the rewards.  I suppose now that the gold is nerfed I will turn my attention to all those treasure maps I've been ignoring.

 

Looking forward to at least trying some of the new Bounty missions.  They were not my favourite even before the update, and I still have quite a few I never even tried.

 

VERY glad to hear about the ammo satchel.  I never understood why the bandoliers and gunbelts didn't increase your ammo capacity.

The stated nerf was bad enough.  All these youtubers all assumed as did I that the payouts would remain the same.  I will not buy another Rockstar game.  I will not buy a new console.  There is literally no reason to play this game consistently.  I paid full price for this game.  I did not buy candy crush horse edition.

Another issue in terms with the cut back on gold payouts making it much harder to get a small fortune is that the ways of earning RDO dollars are still like they used to be, and in a way it how it should be in many ways.

 

All the things that players really need can be bought with RDO dollars. The gold are reserved for "luxury items" within the game. I am not saying I totally like the idea of earning way less gold per playing session, but the more I think about it, the more sense it makes. so I am not to bothered.

 

Another thing is the note at the end of the new bounty role expansion where it says that after one has ranked up to level 30 BH. then we continue to earn XP which can be traded for RDO dollars or gold in the awards meny, so at least that is something.

I still had the game installed on my harddrive. Time to uninstall to make sure I never fire it up again... This is an all time low for a company...Luckily they fixed the modmenu/hacking issues... Or didn't they? LOL Moneyhungry ba....

I lied. I actually did go into rdr online. To collect $200 and benefits and then logged right back off. I didn't even bother looking at the daily objectives because at .1 gold they are a waste of time. That 3 minutes I spent at my camp before logging off is probably the shortest amount of time I've spent in an rdr online session in a long time. Thanks R☆ for killing any incentivs I had for playing your game. Since gold is so much harder to earn now I absolutely don't want to spend any of my 534 bars on a bounty hunter license I likely won't use or an outlaw pass I won't ever recover gold from. This is the first time I haven't purchased an outlaw pass.

Saw some guy on youtube doing a vid where he was defending this BS idea. Makes sense though in away to just going along with all the crap decisions r* pushes out. There in it for the $ as well. Anyone trying to justify the idea of cutting the daily payouts in half, capping the streaks at 28 days, and just flat out pissing in the face of all the loyal players who continued to support this crap game for going on three years, have at it. Would rather play story mode then this joke anyway.

So how much time do you have to spend to earn enough for gold or money? Any less time than you would spend doing other things for the same gold or money? Serious question, I don't know how it pays out anymore. If memory serves me, bounty hunting is the least lucrative role when it comes to payouts of anything which is why I stopped doing it after I got to level 20.

Yes in terms of the BH role that is true, I do not know how much gold or RDO dollars we get for the xp that we can trade or exchange after we have reached rank 30, probably not to much but with all the nerfs on gold it is the only new introduction that brings a small amount of it back.

After watching a stream focusing on bounty hunting, I'd say that clearly along with cutting player's income, they're trying to force more people into the BH role as it's the only role to pay gold and you can apparently accumulate role XP to exchange for gold after level 30.

Also showdowns & races, since they pay gold.

 

G* (greedstar) loves to try and manipulate players into doing the least popular activities.

 

Better solution: just put out something to spend the gold on. You know, something useful that the majority of people actually want.

Make it super expensive.

Sure people will squawk about it, but really, we all know things are definitely going to be overpriced.

THAT is why players are banking money and gold. Also because there's bugger all else to do.

And those that don't have the time or are new will either have to be patient or buy it.
