I just watched a Youtube video from Trippy Commentaries about this. He had screenshots in his video stating that players who have high streaks will not only be reset, but will also see a huge reduction in the amount of gold they are able to earn in the future. This is new information to me, and really puts the final nail in the coffin if this is true. Has anyone else heard about this decreased gold earnings?

People with long streaks won't be affected any more than those will short streaks. So I don't understand what you're getting at.

Instead of being able to earn a max of 308 every 28 days from the daily challenges, you'll now earn 215.6...

All 5 roles cost 95 Gold...

From 308 Gold to 215.6 Gold...

Are we posting pictures of our Streaks and pouring one out for them Homies that lost massive ones?

I feel genuinely sorry for the people that are upset about losing massive streaks.  Not for losing the little number on their daily list - that’s utterly meaningless.  But rather for the fact that their lives are such that it mattered to them in the first place.

Long daily streaks aren’t impressive, they are embarrassing.  They indicate an incredible over commitment to a game that could be described as mediocre at best.  Why would anyone want to tell the world that they had so little going on in their life for the better part of a year that they were able to put time aside every single day to log in, clean a weapon and log out again?

@Gray-Hand Maybe some people really like the game and genuinely enjoy playing it daily 🤔

Nothing wrong with that - but that’s no reason to be upset with having a streak reset.

Nah, logging into the game for a few seconds (enough to keep the streak, either on a trader or general list daily 95 percent of the time)

is not what I'd call "embarrassing overcommitted video game play."

In fact, it would be more correct to call it "casual"; if you can take the time to brush your teeth once or twice a day, you can

log into this once a day (sometimes for an even shorter period of time.)

Many people will still bother to keep up 28 day streaks, since at the 22 day point they will again reward .5 per daily.

So that won't be any more, or less, "embarrassing."

Come on:

Maintaining basic oral hygiene is actually beneficial.  It is important.  It has real life health effects.

Maintaining a daily streak is meaningless.

A 28 day streak isn’t embarrassing.  That’s just someone who wants to make gold.  I’ll definitely be doing it.
A 200 day streak is tragic.  That’s someone who has so little going on in their life that they been away from their house for longer than a day in more than 6 months.

I'm personally at a 17 day streak right now and if I remember correctly my longest was probably 50 something days when the Daily streaks were first introduced.

Mainly I couldn't keep up with it either due to work, if I visited someone or was on vacation.

But there are plenty of opportunities to keep up your streak even if you are not home.

For example this weekend I visited someone but this person also had an Xbox so I could just login and continue.

Personally I find it more embarrassing that someone has the need to tell others that in a core gaming forum that spending time on that game is embarrassing.

If you had so much going on in your life you wouldn't bother, right? Is Elon Musk on forums telling others they are embarrassing because they log in to a game daily?

Or look at Phil Spencer, executive from Microsoft and head of Xbox. He plays Destiny on a daily basis, but is probably more successful than you.

So please stop, you only want to feel righteous.

I’m not getting at anything. I’m quoting what I read/watched in the video. Maybe I misinterpreted it, but it sounded as though players with higher streaks would experience lower gold earnings.

I think some in here are just here to stir up some sh. I think everyone is entitled to play a game like they see fit. If you like to do repetitive tasks to have a steady income, that's your right to do so. I did a few dailies every day and in the process I was playing the game, doing other things aside, making some purpose for myself in this game. It is a visually fantasticly looking game. I enjoy the tweaking of my character's clothing to fit my horses. To tweak my guns to fit my different outfits,... That stuff I enjoy...

But the thing is, it's overly clear where R* priorities lay time and time again... It's about making MORE money. Now if this money would be used to actually take care of stuff that's extremely annoying in game (Cheaters, modmenu a s s hats, game freezing out of the blue when starting up sales,...). But they don't. And that's just because it hurts player's income, thus in some form could potentially mean extra microtransactions for them. So they leave it for y ears on end...

But whenever something drops that enables players to glitch/make use of bugs to make money, it takes hours to change/fix/tweak out. And I'm all for that, I  understand, but when stuff hurts a player's income (modmenu blowing up your sale,...) it  can persist for years on end (see GTA sad  t rackrecord in that department). You can't even identify these morons in game. If you're lucky and report them, they get the warning but the report doesn't go through to rockstar (not that they plan on doing something about it, but ok )  More griefing on the way... They know this, but they don't change it, because it is in their interest. And on another note, this beta-game makes them more money than they imagined, but not close enough to what they (increasingly) want. So let's go for a great strategy... 1) Make something dirtcheap. 2) Have the cheap buyer realise he/she can't play the game as they thought they would be able to... 3) Wave all kinds of flashy things and stuff to do in their face 4) Limit ingame moneymaking or lock special stuff behind another ingame currency, which you simultaneously make harder to earn ingame 5) Watch the profits grow again 6) Laugh at  your loyal playerbase, cos you screw them over as well...

They've become the thing they once despised...

Ah well, preordering Cyberpunk now... :-)... I hope it can capture me, although multiplayer will take another year or so... Looks promising, but so did RDR-online at one point... Microtransactions are the curse for every player these days... Every game starts to feel like a smartphone game these days... Pay to win or pay to enjoy... Pffff pure BS...

I really don't get pre-ordering now, finding it so weird people do it in 2020:

Games are all digital, unless you want to contribute to landfills  ;)

Since you can therefore get them instantly, on release day, pre-ordering makes no sense to me.

Also, people have really crapped out when the game was "junk" and all the reviews say that.

Cyberpunk just seems like it is too "hyped" to me? It reminds me of "No Man's Sky", with all the hoopla for that

(while it was not getting good reviews until the "Beyond" update, which is when I finally bought it four years after release  ;)  (really great game now ))

It seems to me that people are most bothered by the number resetting more than the gold that's earned. Rockstar could have done this a lot better. Maybe having the earnings reset after 28 says but still maintain the number of days played without a break.

And I'm not convinced yet that rockstar will make any more money out of selling a cheaper game and then making gold a little bit harder to earn. I expect what will happen is that people will spend £5 on the game and then £20 on some gold - which is still less than the full game.

Pre-orders from the PlayStation store download up to week 1 to 48 hours prior to the game's release at retail and the actual day the digital game is playable. 👍

So for Cyberpunk if you have a pre-order as I do then I will start having my game download at the earliest this Thursday so that when midnight comes on Thursday next week I can play the game without having to wait any further for it to actually download.

This is why a pre-order still has an advantage as it saves time on release date.

Day 390 here, not embarrassed at all.

Generally play in a posse of between 4 and 7 of us so always someone else on. Sometimes play for a good few hours each evening.

We have a great laugh and love it.

Digital games can be pre ordered too, and often a pre order comes with extra fluff. Why not buy it a couple weeks early for a little bonus if its already something you know you want to play/try?

But I do prefer physical media myself though. If I don't like it, I can get a bit of money back. Don't really care what happens to it then, lol.

On that I do agree though, but it's not the first or last game that'll be overhyped. I'm looking forward to trying it out, but I'm not in any rush to pre order it mind you. I'm not sure I'll adapt to the 1st person only aspect so will wait until it's cheaper to try it out.

That said, reviews mean nothing to me, too many worry about what others say/think or need something to become liked to jump on the bandwagon, lol. The world can over hype it or castrate it once it comes, I'll still try it.

I have had the streak reset and I have got 0.25 Gold for challenge I left to do after the update so is it possible different ones reward different amounts of gold perhaps. Since obviously I currently have a 0 day streak due to it starting from week 1, not week 4.

Pathetic really, but some will continue to defend it and see R* alright.

They really wanted the faithful for the beta/testing phase and now we've served the purpose of making sure the game lasted a couple of years, the loyalty is rewarded with a swift 'f*ck off or buy gold' 🤣🤣🤣
