Deleting Photos

Can we seriously only delete one photo at a time? I'm fairly certain the technology exits allowing one to delete all ones selections simultaneously... If I'm missing something someone straighten me out but damn its looking like its going to take me an hour or longer to clear out my photos.

What platform you are on? Im on PS4 and theres a method to delete all the photos at once through "save game file".

On Xbox it's only one photo at a time, wait 20 seconds, delete the next one. And that's if it all works right.

There needs to be a better way, I have a full gallery and can only delete maybe 20 photos before I'm so bored and shut it down.

You can delete the whole gallery at once by cleaning the game files themselves but that can be tricky if you don't know exactly what you are doing, so if someone has that knowledge maybe they can share.

As a PC player, i converted all the photos to JPG, then delete them all

What puzzles me is how easy the whole photo process is with GTA 5 compared to RDR2.
Taking several shots then deleting some or all is so painfully slow with Red Dead. Why?

One good thing with Red Dead is in game full frame viewing that allows quick screen shots.

Yeah, it is INSANELY horrible and slow.

ah, VideoTech_  posted how to delete them all on xbox one (as well as ps4/pc):

https://gtaforums.com/topic/960093-rockstars-naturalist-photo-challenge/

"Xbox One

Head into My Games & Apps

Find Red Dead Redemption 2 and press the menu button

Select 'Manage game & add-ons'

Scroll down to save data

Select 'Reserved game data'

It will ask you delete it, then press yes."

I've not tried it myself (on xbox) but various people in that thread say the stuff he posted works.

Bleah, didn't work:

Photos still there. Good Lord, even deleting ONE takes forever (why does it have to reload the social club photo page, like it did at the start, after EVERY SINGLE ONE?)

I asked the same question some time ago. I forgot what the solution was for PS4, but there is one.

My two personal most wanted QoL additions right now are a way to split stacks of items for selling, and a way to easily delete multiple photos.

I am a wimp and was too scared to try it myself. Figured I would end up deleting my character or something. 😑

Maybe there is another step to it?

You need to go to PS4 storage then choose rdr2,in there you need to find save file with "PHOTOS" gallery name on it. Then just delete it,all of your photos should be gone.

Yeah, for ps4 it is easy. All the videos/info on it I find were that simple fix for the ps4,

since it just has that area that says "PHOTO."

I don't know what the 18 gb "reserved data" section is for, on the Xbox one, but deleting it seemed to do nothing whatsoever

(then the game just makes it again, when you start it.) So I have NO IDEA what that area is for, not having anything

to do with where your photos are kept.

I went to my Rockstar Social club, figuring out how to delete the photos there; HOWEVER, they are ONLY

photos I uploaded FROM the photos are of the game TO the Rockstar Social club. So that also did nothing, to

ones in your game.

I then bothered to delete, the hard way in game, about 15 of my 90 plus photos. Then it finally did not say

it was "full." I have no idea why even though you are deleting a bunch, it takes quite a few before the camera

even says you can take new photos? I mean, weren't those other ones taking up space?

People have already complained to Rockstar about it, so it seems like that would not help either. Is it as horrible

on the Xbox Series X? Is it at least FASTER when the social club photo area RELOADS EVERY TIME?

The only fix I've arrived at is me having the patience to delete 5-10 every time I get in RDO. THEN, once I have them ALL

deleted, remembering that ANY time a daily has me take a picture I should later/immediately delete it (so they don't pile up again.)

Then any I actually would ever WANT TO KEEP, I'd upload to the Rockstar Social Club.

I think that is where the game stores odd files, like in Skyrim and Fallout 4 I believe that is where the mod files you download from the bethesda site and the club are stored?

That's what I do, spend half an hour or so deleting pictures. It's ridiculous that this is how it has to be.

Yeah that was it. Still, it's be nice to have the feature in the game.

I know right? It takes around 10 seconds to delete one photo, it's infuriating especially when you're part of the RDO Instagram community
