"No Fog" mod doesn't remove height fog, how would I go about fixing this?

I recently downloaded this mod which claims to remove all the ingame fog, increasing detail apparently performance along with it:

It does exactly what it describes and the game looks much better.  However, I found something that no one in the comments tab complained about - height fog.  Flying upwards in a plane or helicopter causes fog to re-appear.  It's not thick fog, the mod removes that, but it's still fog and it looks ugly.  Here's a video I made showing the transition:
 

 

As you can see, flying high in aircraft causes that height fog to appear.  After messing around with the files that the No Fog mod uses as well as other weather and environment files I found using OpenIV, I can say with 99% certainty that this height fog is not listed as "fog", "smog", "smoke", "haze", or "clouds" internally.  If anyone could help me disable this height fog, I'd be forever grateful.
