I did that, for GTA Online (basically, the full game again though not just online.)


For some stupid reason, when I went from xbox 360 to xbox one I bought the DISC version of gta v with the Xbox one (at the store.)

I already had my online character from xbox 360, which transferred (and got a free appearance change!)

 

I got irritated having to have the disc in, while playing, so I eventually bought the digital version when it was some deal llike

the full game and a megaldon shark card for $11 bucks; really it was pretty worth it (for the megaldon money, plus not needing to have the disc in.)

 

After that, I never bought another "disc" game, always download.

 

So yeah, $4.99 to not need the disc in is pretty good too  ;)

Though might be worth backing up your game to flash drive just in case you ever have to reinstall it.

I'm gonna get an extra copy for my daughter. She's into horses and this might just interest her alot... Unsure if her PC can handle the game though...

Ah well, 4.99 is a bargain for this (online only) game... I'm playing over a year now and still haven't touched storymode LOL...

Want a treat? Read Jonah Hex from either 2004 or 2005. Don't let the movie fool you, when done right which is most of the time in his comic appearances, Hex is awesome. The particular series I recommended is very grounded and based in realism with tons of references to the Western genre and to north American history as well. The issues set in Canada drawn by Darwyn Cooke are some of the best comics I've ever read and I've read hundreds of thousands. If you're interested PM me and I'll dig them out and give you some exact issue numbers and publication dates.

...and now, through their revamp of daily challenge bonuses which is rolling out on the same day that RDO is being released as a standalone game for $5, Rockstar seems to have decided that regular players are no longer worthy of a fair income of gold bars.  The game is nullifying my 90-day streak and my in-game income will become a small fraction of what it has been. It will be way more difficult to collect gold without a credit card.  They've already sold 34 million copies at $60 a pop, but they'll sacrifice the in game enjoyment of regular players (who paid $60) aside for more $$$.  I now understand why people bitch so much about Rockstar.  Instead of paying your devs to tweak your profit margin, why don't you have them fix the broken weapons loadout system or create a better way to create outfits since this is what the endgame amounts to anyway????

I was looking at the teaser image for the next Update and I realised the guy is not wearing a bandanna, the coat has a massive collar. f*cking bitch ass Sasuke Uchiha looking motherf*cker.

 

The BH outfits get worse, this one is a literal gimp suit. Looks like Sasukes black outfit after the time skip.

I would hold off until it's reported as fixed by Steam users (I can let you know; will be checking after tomorrow's update drops).

 

There's no good reason why it shouldn't be working--the game was running just fine a few weeks ago--it's just pure laziness -or- lack of dedicating personnel to work on it by R*.

 

Giving credit where credit is due: R* did recently get rid of the error below, but RDO still freezes/locks up during the loading screen or within three minutes of spawning in... and then RDO instantly vanishes, returning you to the desktop.

Steam is (IMO) one of the better ways to buy and use RDO on the PC; R* just needs to fix their blooming game.

Ok, thank you! 😁 I feel stupid asking but I only use my pc to play the Sims, and I buy those through my Origin account. The only reason I have Steam so far is because my son wanted me to sign up so we could play G mod, I just wanted to ask players who are pc gamers their input before I made a mistake.

I use Steam for loads of games.

 

And particularly for those games lacking built in screenshot tools (*cough* greedstar *cough*) Steam is excellent and managing those...as long as the devs don't break their game every week...

Mine's working now but wasn't for more than 2 or 3 minutes at a time when still using Win7. And after a couple of weeks on 10, I still VASTLY prefer 7, but that's not the sole cause of the game freeze, and they had absolutely no clue how to fix it.

I know not everyone's experience with Steam has been good, but FWIW I've been using it for ~16 years, and have never had a problem with it.

 

IMO it's far more stable and "mature" than either Origin or UbiSoft's offerings.

It's out on Xbox and the RGL, not sure on PS and Steam yet.
