I wanna know why they made casino heist so cheap? Seeing as they worded that as the most extravagant robbery to happen in LS. Well I guess this will be Our biggest adventure but not on LS grounds

It’s totally going to be property. Anyone expecting it to be drivable will be disappointed. It’s likely going to either be docked somewhere or just sit in the ocean like the yacht. You will be able to drive to it and enter from a hatch. Then you will likely be able to choose a spot to go underwater from a long list of options all around the map like the Yachts. Very good chance the heist is started from the Submarine as well. That would lend credence to the theory we will have to travel to the island and that it will be a separate map.

I wonder how the submarine will be delivered though. It seems a pretty big vehicle, so it needs to spawn in already deep waters.

It definitely wouldn't surprise me if it was a property on the water, like the yacht, that can't be driven around. I would also not be surprised if you can choose the location of it, off the shore. Definitely buying any new properties that come out, as I have really been grinding out a f**k ton of money with @xInfected_Virus in the 6 months I have been playing GTAO.

How would you get on and off the sub though? Presumably it would at least have the versatility to surface and then dive.

 

If it’s indestructible like the Yacht then I guess it would just be a static object, with maybe some kind of very expensive torpedo / cruise missile function similar to the Orbital Cannon. If it’s more manoeuvrable but vulnerable like the Aveneger than that would be a whole world of fun, but wouldn’t something of that size get stuck all the time in shallow water? The average GTAO gamer isn’t known for their cautious and sensible stewardship of expensive vehicles!

Even though I no longer truly believe there will be an actual town on the island, I still would have loved to buy a cool little apartment above a vendor shop on the main street or something, with a small bedroom with mosquito nets over the windows, and a living room with a small kitchenette/bar, and an old couch, with windows overlooking tropical jungle and the ocean.  

 

And then downstairs behind the store could be a single car garage, that opens and closes without any loading screens, with a vehicle that you choose from a limited list of themed cars, like an old CJ Jeep or maybe a Suzuki Samurai/Jimny, or an old air-cooled VW of some sort, like a fastback:

Which you would be stuck using while on the island, but you could then buy back on the mainland and have Benny restore:

That could very well be a cutscene for when you order your crew to move it around, just like with the yacht.

Or it could be from one of the missions.

Funny thing about that is, that the yacht isn't actually moving when you re-adjust the position of the yacht, The camera just slides across the yacht making it look like it moves. Pretty clever.

If I had to guess, and take this with a grain of salt, of course, I would say that it would be mostly static, and that players who own it of their crew/friends could board it in a default location when it was surfaced. Perhaps missions would allow for limited movement of some sort, such as diving and surfacing. In short, lol I have no earthly idea.

edit: with that said, I'd actually love only being to have maybe one or two personal (non weaponized) vehicles you can take with you to the island, durng in the heists or freeroam, whatever. would make things feel a lot more surreal..

Judging by the submarine, i think some weaponized vehicles will be added (might as well replace oppmk2 if it's op).

Someone has to do this with every DLC and every new game. I remember having these massive arguments with a guy (who I won't name, it doesn't matter now) about RDR2's leaked map. He was convinced that the game world was absolutely massive and that they were going to keep making it bigger and bigger, adding all these states via DLC until it was practically the entire US coast to coast. Obviously that did not come to pass, and the game is plenty big, but it was never going to live up to his most outlandish hopes.

About as much as we can drive the yacht. This new island might be surrounded by submarines like LosSantos with the yachts.

Realistically or optimistically I could have seen Mexico from rdr1 being added as a new location expansion for the red dead online mode (not for singleplayer not unless you play as a completely different character for narrative or canon reasons). I do find the idea of a giant United states map on the level of the crew existing for rdr2 pretty funny but I feel as if these people are stuck under the same mindset from 2013 where Rockstar was teasing at the idea of GTA V and Online continously adding more and more locations outside of and in the US(of course this was back then when everyone thought singleplayer expansions for V was expected). Obviously now we get a new location so maybe there is some hope but yeah....the idea of it being open in free roam has slowly dwindled. It's just easier to enjoy it as a new heist location with new vehicles (with old ones like the squaddie coming).

Just spawning the 3d model on its own? Yeah, probably.

But if theres a freeroam version of it, porting all of it to SP (including npcs and all the other stuff) would be probably easier than extracting all of that stuff from heists.

if you fly above office or penthouse, you can automatically land and teleport inside. I'm guessing same thing gonna happen if you get near it.

It's a unique way to hide it like when you enter/exit interiors :)

the aircraft carrier would be a almost identical example.

bc it has exterior and interiors.

just like that island will have.

so we could most likely load it very similiar to the aircraft carrier.

maybe it would even be easier.

bc maybe they will need to put it into a stream.ymap.

bc unlike the carrier, it would need to have proper LOD and such for the seperate areas.

we will see.

Honestly I think the island is a little bit larger than I first thought. Watching the trailer again, there's some good distance between suspected locations. I sense a thick jungle/swamp/bog area in the middle resembling Zancudo River area cutting through the map in the radio tower shot...

 

edit: Oak Island size comes to mind...

I think vehicles that we can use will be limited to those that are on island and what submarine can store in the form of boats, jetski or drones. So no personal vehicles or option to call mechanic to deliver one unless those vehicles are tied to our submarine.

I think everyone is wrong where it will be located. Rockstar themselves said it's a remote island, what's more remote than the other side of US? Alamo Sea ofc!

Alamo Sea would be finally useful? Yep.

I am a believer of the cruise missile upgrade for the submarine. Yes, it has torpedo's but what would you use them against? Other non harmfull jetskis or boats? the APC? I think there will be something similar like the Orbital strike but the map has a range limit on where you can shoot. I dont think you can have surveillance over all the players like the Orbital canon. Also the missile wont be an insta-hit either. You basicly have to guess where the enemy is located in order to get a kill. Just an assumption. I would love to see some top tier tracking abilities as well to counter those pesky MK2's.
