For some reason, when I first saw those buildings on the cliff edge, I thought it was a small neighborhood of nice villa/mission style homes.  But it's clear that those buildings are all part of just a single compound, belonging to one person.  That bums me out a lot, because I thought there might be a chance to have multiple properties on the island to maybe purchase, but that seems less and less likely to me now. 

 

It doesn't really look like there is any sort of town at all.  Just a compound, and a few structures for processing drugs, probably.  A couple tents at the cove, some docks, and an airstrip.  I don't know.  If that is really the full extent of the island, then I could more realistically see it being limited to just the heist missions.  I thought it would be more of a miniature island nation, but it really does look more and more like just a private island.  

Indeed, even if it's available to free roam it won't be that interesting, at least for me, since it seems there is no any kind of urban area like some small town or settlement.

I’m going to be pissed about no freeroam because there are no towns. It looks like a great map for offroading and mudding with whatever new vehicles they add.

I think, the island will be available in freeroam in standalone version of GTAO.

So either Yan and all of the mods and insiders are bullsh*tting everyone to make us all even more happy at release, or—the more likely option—they’re just bracing us so this doesn’t become a B&M thread. I think that’s the simpler, more likely explanation. 

Maybe...or he's trolling and the "a lot of people" that  will be disapointed is the ones who said that it will not be in the free roam. But, tbh, that people are just being pessimists, if they are proved wrong, they would be happy, so, it looks like it will not be free roam at all.

The uncertainty comes with the "look for more places to party and socialize", it would be logical to think it would be in the new island, even more when they make parties there. But since the casino is getting upgrades that can tell that it's just new things in Los Santos, and maybe opening bahamas mamas, but, if the dance system is the same boring lvl of the personal nightclubs then, i don't see the appeal. I think R* will be doing a mistake if they not release the new map in free roam, bcz after 7 years of no map expansion, the first that comes, it's not explorable out of the heist, then, people will be pissed. And maybe we will see more favourable stats to CP2077 than GTA Online.

This is a perfect time to add more off roaders since we are getting a narcos style update, will come in handy especially on the island. Hopefully we get a custom version of the bobcat Xl and the og Bobcat from IV. A Rancher Xl is much needed too

My hot take, if this update wasn’t on an island and these parts of this druglords property just popped up in the map we already have, then it wouldn’t be the biggest update yet.

ONCE AGAIN To all the People who keeps asking will it be in free roam. The answer is YES 

1. Why would they add new radio stations and over 100 songs 

2. We have to move around the island for set ups and preps

3. They’re adding little party spots n stuff to hang out 

4. I know rockstar can be a pain in the A but they’re not about to create a whole island with new dj’s and hundreds of

songs just for a 15 to 20 minute heist come on guys use your brain it’s obvious the island is available in free roam

Maybe you're right. But if you're right, then Yan is just bullsh*ting us. But usually his words are true. Althought it doesnt make your point less validade, bcz and i'm with you: i think those new radios stations will only be available in the new island, bcz it's a different location, then, new radios makes total sense. But the part of the DJ's aren't directly imposed to the new island, despite of being parties, they can be in los santos, going to our nigthclubs or new spots like Bahamas Mamas, maybe. And maybe those new spots, one at least we know is in the Casino, will be there just to make us not rage so much at R* bcz the island will not be in free roam. Like: "hey, it's not free roam, but at least we are giving you guys new spots to hang out in los santos".

Its more probably that we will get the JB700WX. A JB700 with badly patched up gunmounts, slick mines and as a new feature an ejector seat.

It's more than likely just one of our entrance disguises for the heist. Rich drug lord's have parties all the time. It's the perfect disguise.

The map will be fully explorable with restricted areas near the drug kingpin property. The cabana will most likely have a live dj playing sets there. No way rockstar adds a map expansion that can't be enjoyed, that is bad for business.

He may be referring to the seamless transition to the new island. That choice is leading the poll. Looking at the trailer, we know the submarine will be a new HQ, and it was moving in the water near the new island. Why add a new hq that you can only use in a heist? Doesn't make sense. I think his comment is in regards to seamless travel between LS and the island. The good news is, next week we will get more information is my guess. R* is going to hype this dlc up. (T2 stocks went up $4 a share with its announcement btw) 

 

I don't believe there have been any dlcs with two teaser trailers.. I could be mistaken. I also wonder if a new website will soon be available for this dlc. There is so many moving parts to it, more then the casino, that I would think r* would want to "prepare" us.

I was searching for Yan’s words earlier today, but found some old comments in the IX thread when the casino construction info came out. Reading the comments there, I realized that sometimes people can be just consistently/habitually pessimistic...Seeing things in a positive light can yield benefits lol

I think there are people in the forums who are optimistic, pessimistic, and realistic. It balances this place out having all three imo.

I think yan was referring to the 40% of people who think it'll be seamless. Imo I think it's very possible it'll be accessible only through a loading screen.

I hope it's made as an unlockable in some way like what you're describing. To this day I haven't once bought myself a shark card, only grinded for everything (taking it slow too), but I basically made a vow years ago that one way or another I would pay out of my own pocket to get access to the expansion. If that means buying a shark card for the submarine and then subsequently completing the heist so be it. If it's optimized well enough (I trust them, I had many map expansion mods at once back on GTA IV/4 without performance issues, and a AAA company would try to optimize such content more than the average mod) I want to help encourage them to do more Map Expansions, if there's one thing I will pay for out-of-pocket in this game it's Map Expansions.
