One last thing about Didier Sachs, the person who writes these newswire may not know the universe and it doesn't matter, nobody knows it at 100%. Maybe he just mentioned a luxury brand, nothing more. The Lore that they have fleshed out at each game is so vast that they get their brushes tangled up.

@SpaceOdyssey69

Ye would think ah company whae a multi billion income would be, at least, double, treble or even quadruple checking these media statements aye?

It does matter.

Still, that wasn't Victor Vance and there's nothing that can change my mind.

@gonnaenodaethat We'll see
Being a multi-billion dollar company means nothing, whether Scottish or not. The current state of the game proves it. You seem to know things, but I've also heard that you're not very reliable.
In any case, Didier Sachs or not, the future looks good.

Insoluble Fiber

And I'm sorry if I'll sound mean, but because of people like @SpaceOdyssey69 whom think that collabs are "transcending the game", the game actually becomes more diluted and generic. It makes the game lose its world building and character that's been built for years by likes of Steven Walsh. Rockstar sadly only sees the praises and not the the criticism and if more people like that pop up the more IRL brands we will see.

Good thing is I've seen more backlash to the whole MSBHV and Civilist thing then the praise, still I'm really sad that there are people who actually dont think at all about this (world building) stuff and when they are advocating to "look at the bigger picture", they actually don't do that themselves.

Also same goes to the cars that are near carbon copy of IRL ones, with changed badge. Rockstar has become lazy and I'm personally not happy with it.

By transcending I meant R* going into a new phase with GTA:O. I didn't regard it as being a good or bad thing! You can surely have your opinion and dislike the additions.

But.

Some folks enjoy change and GTA:O is taking a new experimental path. I guess you could say GTA:O is a big experiment at this point that keeps on giving. To me personally, this whole brand ordeal is making a big deal outta relatively small things. If it makes you feel sad then I am "sorry" for you.

 I advocate for people to look at the bigger picture in this case because a simple irl clothing brand is not that harmful to the overall storytelling that you are talking about. If you persist staunchly with your opinions you will find it hard to enjoy the game. There really has been no clear indication at this point that there will be in the future shameful promotions with other large companies that you fear might happen and I honestly don't think it might happen.

Also regarding vehicles, I think that has been the intention with some of them at least, do you remember Huntley from GTA 4 and countless other ones?

As with many things in life, you get what you pay for. I'm told that a sh*t-hot PR service that would help to make accurate and engaging content for a company such as Rockstar isn't all that expensive in the big scheme of things. Yet there are always cheaper options available, and over the last 18 months or so it sure shows.

Just look at how some other studios are getting innovative, interesting and regular engagement out to their community. Quality comms that mirrors the AAA level of the game and the ethos of studio as a whole. I can think of plenty of current examples.

Then look at the miserable doggerel that Rockstar still erratically spits out to its fanbase, using a comms model that hasn't evolved much in the last decade and in some ways seems to have regressed. It just not AAA standard anymore. Comms shouldn't be an afterthought if you're striving to be the best in the business - or if you're in any business at all.

@Volatollotalov Exactly, and I don't believe that EVERYTHING must have a particular meaning. When @gonnaenodaethat says that Rockstar checks several times before posting it makes me smile, has everyone forgotten about sports classics? We've had these discounts for several months, no explanation, nothing. The guy/girl/other who makes these newswires is paid normally, he's not a millionaire. You can check your work three times, and three times not see your mistake. Your company's money doesn't make you infallible, CDPROJEKT proved that recently.

This man most definitely wasn't around for deepthroatgta4 in 2007, and their return in 2011 lmao. Everybody thought it was the mods and it never was, and the 2007 situation had pretty much leaked GTA IV in riddles.

I'm not even from the same country as that man, Judas.

I don't want to speak on his behalf, but I think Gonnaenodaethat was suggesting that it would be reasonable to expect double, triple checking of content before it goes out, and that this checking obviously isn't happening. So I guess we're all in agreement there. I would add though that the kind of laziness we're seeing in Rockstar's comms isn't really good enough for a studio of that level. It isn't really good enough for a dodgy second-hand fireplace shop down the side of some warehouse on the docks, either.

It's just substandard. Sure, the people who compose the Rockstar copy probably aren't paid megabucks, I don't doubt they're doing their best in the circumstances and it isn't a personal criticisim against anyone, but this is all about the day-to-day shop front of Rockstar. There should be a healthy and positive culture of quality comms, backed up by a coherent strategy that's focussed and innovative. Projects that fully activate the excellent opportunities they have through the music and brand collabs and so on. That kind of thing needs a team effort with senior level interest and buy-in, rather than the best shot of some hapless folk in the corner.

So no new vehicle, no panther statue, no diamonds, what the hell?

We had the worst Christmas event last year but now I think this is also the worst Valentines event. And they are never good anyway.

I can see Rockstar expanding onto the music aspect more in the future to include more DJs and artists, and with that, we may see more real-life brands featured within the game.

You can clearly see that the MSBHV and Civilist collab happened mainly due to the deep connections the DJs had with Rockstar.

I'm sure the newswire is not managed by one person only.

Like Blizzard, it's not farfetched to think R* have a dedicated team assuring the lore of the franchises is respected.

Imagine this being added to the game

@Volatollotalov If your employer asks you to do your best to engage your hearing. Anyone in their right mind would do the exact opposite of what is happening today, the way to communicate clearly comes from above and is outdated, but do they realize they are ruining their image? They know that their next game will sell anyway. I still think that the departure of Leslie, Lazlow and Dan marks the end of a great era. Lack of communication is also their strength. At least someone recently proved to them that announcing a game 10 years earlier and overhyping it is a big risk.A lot of money in a short period of time but a long term risk.

I quite heavily disagree. The whole purpose of the Music Locker was to be a "social space". Rockstar isn't dumb, if they see that the idea didn't work (and as far as I know it didn't, I can rarely find someone there) they're not just gonna throw more money at DJ collaborations. There's a reason why they don't add music very often, and I think that they're doing it more often than usual lately just because many deals are unfortunately going to expire soon, since the game is almost 10 years old. The new music serves as a replacement to the old songs that are going to be removed.

Edit: To be more clear, I do think that there is a possibility for the addition of new songs into the game in the future, I just don't think that it's going to be at the level of Cayo Perico or even After Hours. It's one thing to buy licenses, it's another to pay people to dress in mocap suits and create exclusive music and so on.

to be honest, even MMOs from godddamn post-Soviets are doing that better

back to R*; adding that, lack of new titles and GTAO being mess we got image of company which just stopped giving a sh*t, because 14yo 360noscopers will still play it and pay no matter what
