I love how ads on FB (and IG!) translate and appropriate info around the DLC in your main language. It's meaningless and provides nothing more than the english info, but it's so cool to see, to me at least.

I am a bit worried. I have a slight feeling we wont get any dripfeed like the LSSS update. Could be maybe because the last update was a filler but the dripfeed mostly contains the good stuff. I love to see the datamined dripfeed dropping in by the minute on the pages...

Nah, there's gotta be something to keep us going well into 2021. If not vehicles (which would be a shame, like you said - there is nothing better than the morning before a DLC when we see datamined stuff!), then at least I'm thinking some new contact missions, a treasure hunt on Cayo Perico (fingers crossed!), possibly new TCPH targets, like TDCH got diamonds as vault content, etc. etc.

[Spoiler]You can use ad blockers in your phone, at least Android phones, I don't know about Apple. I'm using one right now.

 

I started using them when the ads here turned into political hit jobs.

 

You'll have to sideload the app since Google doesn't allow Ad blockers in the Play Store. Just search "Ad blocker Android" & follow the instructions in the articles. Most apps are free, you don't need to pay for a subscription.

You don't need specific browsers, some blockers work system wide & get rid of the ads everywhere (except youtube, you need a different app for that).

 

Of course Android being Android, the apps work 90% of time & you have to restart them every once in a while.[/Spoiler]

I think so too. Maybe half of the DLC we currently got, are improvised/new, the other stuff is like (SP) cut content in someway like the casino. Rockstar probably got enough ideas and content through 2021.

I think that the Summer Special was a unique case, since there wasn't really some beefy content to keep players engaged at launch, and that's why they decided to shove in it everything they had ready for release. With Cayo Perico I believe we are going back to our usual 3 month-long dripfeed, and then even weeks until the next big update

The datamined stuff builds hype and speculation, and I enjoy seeing what might be coming too! 

 

As for drip-fed content, it doesn't irritate me like it used to - and now that Rockstar will be on an even-keel and not making up for lost time, I can see them bringing back drip-feed. It would tie-in with their 'new DJ releases' at The Music Locker as well.

I'm wondering how much content will be locked behind completing the Cayo Perico heist. I don't think it'll be like the original heists where a player wasn't allowed to buy certain vehicles / equipment / clothes unless they finished all of the setups and the finale (which Rockstar altered with 'trade prices' a few years later) - in this case I reckon we'll see trade prices again like with the DCH.

 

But then again, things like the Ceramic Pistol can't be bought without completing certain setups and finales... as well as the various disguises and other outfits. I hope solo heisters won't be locked out from access to certain items just because they're not teaming up with randoms other people.

I know this is not the thread, maybe there is some sort of dedicated thread I havent seen? (Relatively new around here)

 

But did you ever give Xenforo a thought? I moved a 20 year old phpbb forum to Xenforo a few years ago. The only major problem for us, as well as you guys, would be that there was no way to migrate all posts and users over. Basically starting from scratch, which I would say wouldn't be an option for you guys due to the size and numbers. But I felt it was worth it for the future of the site/forum's I was running, and over time, the majority of users came back. The old forum's were archived to a new URL, and are looked back upon with fond memories. If anything, the move helped bring in new fans too.

yeah, no one knows yet, but it safe to assume that it will not be freely explorable in free-mode, players can only go there to do heist related activities, like scoping locations and so, thats what I think... maybe there will be an option to go there and hang out with friends or something once the heist is cleared, I hope

There probably will be a glitch to visit the island anyways, no matter how they want to restrict the acess to it.

You should use adblockers. Recent attack used ads to inject malicious browser extensions.

 

On Apple you can use ABP too, but the best way is to spend some bucks and get a special VPN with adblocking functions. Nothing is stopping you from creating your own usig VPS, this way all of your data will stay with you and you will use whatever keys you like to encrypt your traffic. At home buying standalone firewall based on something like Pfsense will do the trick too. I personally use custom made private VPS  based VPN over a cheap 100 mbit channel in Russia and the only downside is that some sites are not really happy to see you as a Russian lol. One of the advantages of this method is that if you have another machine (could be virtual if you are crazy enough) in the same network as your VPS, you can access it remotely and if it is behind NAT you will be indistinguishable behind public IP address of your ISP that hosts your VPS. Thwarts local restrictions plus confuses the hell out of people. Downside, it will be slow since your using VPN to connect to your VPS and then connecting to your local machine behind NAT.
