That reminds me, didn't R* told that both RDO and GTAO would get "considerable sized" dlc's? xD LMAO. RDO xmas dlc was like our GTA summer filler dlc.

remember when R* would continue to tease doomsday heist by posting images of vehicles and a little description of them? I feel like that would have worked out really well here

I just hope there would be some long requested vehicles in this update. Classic comet was fan request for years and if they don't add it now, then they are either considering clean version to be similar to custom so it's useless waste or resources, even though we have multiple version of other cars, such as yosemite and dukes, or they plan on holding it for enhanced version. It would be nice if we get modern comet like gt3 and then benny conversion to classic one, similar how it had been handled with comet  to retro custom. Don't even want to think about other cars such as modern ubermacht sedan based on m5 or m8 competition because comet has higher chance to be added, but seeing how they added rebla when i though they forgot completely about ubermacht, i still hold some minor hope.

I'm fine with waiting another week, I just hope we'll get a decent trailer before release. I did appreciate the various Instagram vehicle teases we had gotten right before Smuggler's Run and Doomsday Heist and I'd welcome their return.

I just don't know what the deal with releasing a trailer in the day of the dlc, or at the very least a day prior. That don't work in their favour. Bcz in the day of the dlc the community are just going straight to the game and not to the trailer, so less views for that trailer.

Trailer that says "Play Now" is better than a trailer that says "Coming soon" for the great chunk of the casual playerbase that's out of the loop.

1 - 5% - Us forumers who know every detail of what Rockstar has released and what's coming, going over the Newswire with a fine tooth comb and probably even watch a few GTA Youtubers.

45 - 49% - People who don't go on the Newswire at all, let alone gaming forums like this, who haven't clicked that event weeks are actual things that happen every week and occur 9:30 - 10am UK Time on a Thursday and only get their gaming news via social media such as Facebook or Twitter.

50% - People who play only GTA Online once in a while / once an update is released, who still might have no idea a new Heist update is coming.

x% - People who might have wanted to get into GTA Online but don't follow it closely to know what's going on right now.

 

Releasing a trailer that ends with the words "PLAY NOW" on the day of the release, signifies to the 50%+ of the community who may have been completely unaware a new update was even coming that they don't need to wait for everythign they saw in the trailer to come out.... because it's already in the game at that very moment. It makes people consider playing GTA Online the first thing they do once they get a bit of free time.

I don't think they'd do that. They will probably do what they did with the clique. Have it free until the user purchases the car after that it will go to it's regular price. The limited time factor may be somewhat like the clique, where maybe the car is free to everyone for a week and after that, if the user hasn't yet bought it, they will miss their chance to get it for free and it will go to it's original price. If they made it the podium vehicle, the community wouldn't be very happy as Rockstar stated "we’ll reward the entire community at large with a special new vehicle, free of charge"

Remember when the Comet Retro was the car released a day or two prior to Christmas? Was that one free on Xmas or did we have to pay for it? I'd be happy if they simply add a long requested car like a legit Comet Classic or ZR350, even if we had to pay for it..

That's R* for ya. No sense for marketing their DLC updates. Our hype train does their job for them. Just imagine what effect they could've achieved if they actually did tease and announce their content like other companies do. If I was a rich and greedy investor in T2/R*, I'd definitely push toward some kind of "classic" marketing strategy. Not just stay quiet until the last minute and keep an ever bad (non-existent) communication with my customers.
