Stuck at home screen, Enter Key is useless

Hey, 

 

So I picked up a Bmax Y13 laptop and installed the latest version of GTA2, configured all the keys in the manager and hit start only to be stopped at the main screen, my enter key does nothing. I can't select PLAY or OPTIONS, I can navigate up and down and escape quits the game.

 

I've tried using KeyTweak to remap my enter key but it doesn't seem to do anything in the game homescreen. 

 

Any idea how to get around this? Ive also tried using a launcher to go directly to the game but then I have no way to save or exit.

 

A side note, when I put all my controls in the manager my enter key comes up as 'Numeric Pad Enter'
