Of course they will, but at the moment this forum is dying and we have nothing left to discuss. I remember when the San Andreas logo was revealed - it gave us something to discuss. As did the V logo, IIRC. We know a drought will follow, but I'd rather a drop of rain in between droughts than no rain at all.

Since there's nothing to discuss about VI..., How was the hype for San Andreas when it was revealed? Did the forums crash? How was it revealed? Must have been amazing times. Tried searching if there's any article for GTA III Announcement but I couldn't find any lol. And I got one more question, when SA released, did anyone react to it negatively? Maybe even a year after its release? Or is GTA V the only game to be trashed this much after release lol.

 

I get it V is not as good as the others but they tried something different after the serious stories of GTA IV and RDR1. I still love the game, though.

IV was trashed quite heavily due to the difference in tone with the game and the lack of customization like weight, hair, no rpg elements, and no planes. Even the lack of countryside was criticized, since there was only city which became boring over time. But I enjoyed the game, maybe because it was only my third GTA that I played at that time.

I actually agree with you. I'm just speaking from experience. As happy as people will be, many will still be frustrated by their silence. Just look at all the replies to their tweets throughout 2017/18, whenever Rockstar tweeted about GTA Online. Just begging for RDR2 news. It'll be the same again. It this age, and having experienced pretty much every GTA so far, I kinda' know what to expect, so this time I guess I'm just more relaxed about it and less 'eager' for news? IDK.

IV was also bashed for the repetitive missions and the driving physics

Welp, as far as I remember, you can´t fly commercial planes in any game with the exception of San Andreas with the first controllable plane and in GTA V as returning, I think it´s more a R* choice rather than technical problems, I mean, LC is based on NY...I don´t need to remember why it wouldn´t be a good idea to leave the player to fly planes there... I didn´t complain on that when it came like that, I wanted to fly planes in LC of course, but I saw R* choice as something fair and ok

some are static, some others not, you can sometimes see commercial planes taking off and flying around the map, but only in story mode unfortunately

It's just that specific one. Only the 747. None of the others are pilotable. Just tap Y/Triangle/Whatever the hell key it is on PCMasterRace near the nose landing gear to get in.

i remember reading about it in a coverage of E3 2004 i think. the first picture i saw was this shot of CJ on his bike in front of the LA Convention Center. must have been pretty cool to be one of the people who attended E3 that year and saw this screenshot while they were inside the Convention Center. i also remember that there was an interactive map of San Andreas on the official webpage. it had a bunch of very short videos showcasing the in-game world too. it took hours to download them but it was worth it lol. not even GTA V got me this hyped

lets be honest, we all drool over gta and rockstar and its understandable. but gta v came out late 2013. today is late 2020. its already been *7 years* since gta v release and we havent heard a single thing about gta 6. not even a shred of information. this is not right. i know they invest in every tiny detail so it be perfect and i respect it as a fellow gta2 - v player, but thats way out of line.

gta v gets updates and remastered version only cause its a milking cow of dollars. i dont remmber gta iv got any major update beside the ballad of gay tony and the lost and damned. which was kinda lame tbh. i thought rockstar was trolling us with that.

7 years in the making should be plenty of time making almost a game that big. or for at least a trailer or 2 or some info about the upcoming game. lets not forget that this aint some new company or the developers aint some rookies. i believe its all the same little people who made gta  v, iv, sa  and vice city. and lets leave out the excuse of they got another projects like RDR. got more projects? hire more developers.

i got all the respect and patient for rockstar even if it gonna be at 2025, but 7 years without any detail? thats just mad.

It's not more projects on top of GTA VI, it's that their next project was RDR2 - they're not going to hire a load of other devs when it's something they want to make themselves.

GTA VI hasn't been in development for 7 years. There were working on RDR2 FOR FIVE YEARS after GTA V released.

The forums didn't crash as far as I'm aware. They weren't as big as they are now. They did crash when the second trailers and the San Fierro section of the map was revealed on the website, IIRC, or that might have been the Rockstar website? Or both? When the logo was revealed many speculated, correctly, that it looked like gang graffiti. Before the logo was revealed I distinctly remember the debate was San Andreas (San Francisco) vs Sin City (Las Vegas). I don't recall Los Angeles being discussed much. When it was, people corrected that the original San Andreas in GTA was San Francisco. I also remember that the argument against Las Vegas was that it would be Vice City without the sea.

 

San Andreas had largely huge popular following on here. I've said it before and I'll say it again. III-SA were, on the whole, universally loved on here. IV divided the fans into "SA fans vs IV fans" and then V displeased both sets of fans. V has been trashed even more than IV was for this reason. V doesn't have a core fanbase in the way that every other GTA does.

 

It is not always inevitable that people trash the current game. Its a more "recent thing" that began with IV, in terms of it being a regular debate.

it doesnt matter. you dont just have 1 team of devs to focus on one project each time. you dont pause the production of the best game in history just cause the shot caller had an idea for a complete different game. if thats your logic then rockstar will release every 5-7 years a new game or a new project. now its gta 6? in 2030 its next RDR or next new project.

I think a lot of people like me remember how Rstar used to be and wish Rstar was still like that. meaning they were releasing games every year and we didnt have to wait for 7+ years for a new GTA game. I know it takes more time to develop games now but I hate the fact that we could possibly wait for 10 f*cking years for a new one. that doesnt sit well with me. also I do believe GTA6 would be released sooner (whenever that is) if GTAO didnt exist. selfishly I wish GTAO never existed and I cant stand the fact that so many people play it and spend money on it. its the f*cking worst. and if that makes me a dick thats fine. I know Im a dick and I hate you GTAO players.
