I mean they're not "shooting" at Rockstar. It's just a reference/Easter egg. There's another one where the guy says "...a grand theft auto virgin like you...", Doubt they're shooting at Rockstar while being a fan of Rockstar's work. https://www.mcvuk.com/development-news/cd-projekt-red-we-want-to-be-like-rockstar/amp/

Take 2 will slam them if they did it on a parody purpose, (can't wait to see CP2077 parody easter eggs on gta VI)

??? whut? What does Take 2 have to do with anything?

GTA and Rockstar has been parodied multiple times in other games.

Rockstar games already shooted the parodies of GTA on an easter egg on gta sa , R* made a graveyard of parodies of gta

He would even say a comment along the lines of "Vice City? That game sucked" if he got called to a car jacking.

Yeah, but I don’t game on PC so I was obviously talking about the PS4 and XB1 where the root of the problems are for Cyberpunk 2077 and that’s what the guy I quoted was talking about.

I know that's why I said PC first to divert your attention towards the other launches of Rockstar games. R* is just a not good example IMO.

RDR2 had its bugs and glitches, but on equivalent hardware (PS4 and XB1) it wasn’t broken, unplayable like the reports are suggesting for the PS4 and XB1 versions of Cyberpunk 2077.

While RDR2 1.00 version was better on PS4 and XB1, the future patches continued to introduce more glitches and bugs that people now consider reverting back to 1.00. It wasn't broken but that's still a poor display by Rockstar. Whereas Witcher 3 was supported well, even on the PC with future patches.

CDPR are very fortunate that the PS5 and Series X/S just launched with BC as the game seems the fare a bit better otherwise they’d be shot ducks in water.

Which is to say that to compare Cyberpunk 2077 and RDR2 launches are a bit unfair. RDR2 was designed for PS4 and XB1 (much more focused scope and hence optimization). Whereas Cyberpunk 2077 was for PS4, XB1 AND PC as well as the newer consoles. Situation is different.

But the point of my argument is that, Rockstar did some things right but then you have things like PC versions and future patches (of consoles as well) that happened to be sh*tty. Conclusion is that I don't recall a developer in recent years to release a stable AAA game on launch (especially if it involves PC). It is an industry issue IMO.

With all the issues CDPR has been having with Cyberpunk 2077 lately Rockstar has decided to step in and help them

CD Projekt have said many times Rockstar are their main role model, so every reference is them paying respects. They are no Rockstar though despite thinking they can be...

CD Projekt started with awful games sold in Kiosks for $1. And that was only 15 years ago.

It's really a miracle that they created this game, and Witcher.

Polish government is going to give away money to everyone who wants to promote Poland in one way or another (act of desperation) - maybe Rockstar should locate Grand Theft Auto VI in Warsaw, this government would give them whatever they need.

If Rockstar did that they would make Sam Houser president of Poland.

So Rockstar themselves say they have no plans for an RDR2 SP DLC and some 4chan dude is suddenly more reliable? Also that looks like a picture of RedM or something on PC, with extra props added and low settings.

No... When I started playing I didn't install any patch for a couple days and it ran perfectly fine, without any bugs or performance issues. It was very polished. Same with now, I'm on the latest patch and every runs perfectly, except Saint Denis which dips to 25fps, while Cyberpunk runs at 15-25fps on lmao. PC version was bad at launch but now it's really not "sh*tty" afaik. And well if you say there are performance issues because they had to focus on PC version too, then what Rockstar does is reasonable, optimise the game well for the consoles and port it to PC later.

Someone educate me here, isn't it running via backwards compatibility meaning they don't have to optimise it that much for newer consoles?

No developer is perfect after all including R* , but I don’t see how comparing the launches of RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077 is unfair.

CDPR’s undertaking of more versions on different platforms really doesn’t matter.

They chose to take on that sort of load. No one forced them to. Imagine if this game released back in April or whenever it was supposed to? If anything as I said the PS5 and Series X/S releasing just a month ago has kind of saved Cyberpunk 2077 from being a complete failure on a technical front.

R* didn’t have that sort of benefit back in 2018. The thing I feel is CDPR  knew this game was a mess on PS4 and XB1 and did everything possible to hide it. That’s why there was no footage of gameplay shown on the base PS4 and XB1 before release.

To put it simply the game wasn’t ready to be released this year. I have a feeling the only reason they did is because it just happened to coincide with the PS5 and Series X/S releases (which are both conveniently BC) whilst the native versions for those consoles are still being developed, but for anyone who bought it on an OG PS4 or XB1 it seems like they’ve been f*cked hard.

Hi, I'm experiencing a bug that doesn't allow me to create polls. Basically, what happens is that whenever I try to add options, I automatically get redirected to the "GTA 6" home page.

Is this a bug or a feature that I'm not aware of?

To play devil's advocate, companies say they have no plans for things all the time, while actively working on them. And the picture of Beecher's Hope is just taken from the wiki page. And to be fair, they did say "image is not from the DLC but it is related"

We all know most leaks are bullsh*t. But every so often, they do turn out to be real. Everybody wants single player DLC. So it's very easy to believe it, because you want to believe it. Look at the past 2 years, regarding every GTA VI leak.

Personally, if it turns out to be real, then cool! But I'm not wasting my time on it, hoping it's real.

Compare Cyberpunk and RDR2 graphics, physics & how real the game feels.

RDR2 just feels like more in every aspect.

GTA VI will be the true cornerstone in next gen gaming.

You nailed it. Everybody wants single player DLC-and fake “leakers” know that. I know many fakes tell people what they want to hear, and single player DLC is exactly what everyone wants to hear.

Do you mean graphics as in the PS4 version or the PC version? People who actually thought the PS4 could run Cynerpunk 2077 well clearly don’t know how outdated it is. I’m glad actually that unlike GTA 5 they didn’t tone the game down to run on outdated hardware

Well to be honest, it is difficult to see Cyberpunk 2077 being initially made for next gen back when it was in development. It seems CDPR saw an opportunity in shifting to next gen when the new consoles were announced and lost focus on current gen in the process.  Nonetheless my point is that it's a different approach, quantity versus quality I suppose. The difference is that CPDR might deliver polish over time to an initially damaged product (whereas R* delivers rust over time to a initially polished product).

Ah I think you need to re-read what I wrote. PS4 and XB1's 1.00 version was good in RDR2, it got crappy over time with the patches. Like R* manage to screw up a polished game. That's bad in another way. As for PC version, I literally played it a few months ago and it was crashing. You had to go on Default graphical setting, lowering would lead to crash and for about 80% of the game I had to suffer performance loss because changing setting wasn't an option. Latest patches just recently this year fixed this but it makes you realize just how long R* took. Graphical glitches still exist tho to this day, that's just R* way of showing love.

I don't think it's that simple that it's just a PS4/XB1 version being ported to next gen. Considering it is a DirectX 12 exclusive on PC, it could be possible that CPDR is porting it from PC to consoles or from next gen optimized version to both PC and current gen (hence why next gen consoles are playing it so smoothly).

But even if it just simply backwards compatibility, the inclusion of a PC version does causes issue. It's a reason why Rockstar introduces a PC port later because if they f*ck up, it is limited to PC and not beyond. And that's my point, it's a different approach.

...on the other hand I've played RDR2 on PC since launch without any major issues. Go figure.

Regardless, I'm not sure why this topic is getting flooded with Cyberpunk and CDPR, really isn't the place. We all know Rockstar is bigger and better and GTA VI will surely be better we hope lol.

Much of it is honestly a fusion of corporate and management affairs. Project was probably restarted and went through development hell, smaller team taking on such an ambitious project, COVID impacts, bad crunch publicity, long development time which resulted probably going over budget. A bunch of mismanagement. It was always going to come to consoles to maximise return to shareholders and further pump the price. Internally this was probably the best time to release for purely shareholders. More delays would equal further public scrutiny, more crunch and a plunging stock price. It’s in consumers hands now and employees get there Performance bonuses.

In saying that CDPRs stock was so overvalued and was going to pull back eventually, this buggy release just made the stock dive even harder.

People compare Cyberpunk to R* because of the hype and the quality.

And now just think for a second. If CDPR pulled this masterpiece of a game, imagine what R* is cooking with GTA VI.
