I just hope there's a lot to do in Online. With that I mean activities, that GTA V lacks.

With all these years between the games, I kind of expect it to be the biggest game yet. With it having everything ... diners, Burger Shots, restaurants, bars, bowling, tennis, golf ... JUST EVERYTHING. And even more.

I subscribe to the notion that from now on Online is going to be entirely separate from MP. Hell, aren't they doing that with the next-gen release of V?

Maybe not entirely but it's clear, that "singleplayer mode" fans are getting more demanding. Online players (at least most of them) don't care about graphics, physics,  mechanics, world design, whether the world feels alive or not etc.

People really doing mental gymnastics over here trying to convince that past is as (or even more lol) profitable as modern era. Lmao.

GTA V > RDR2 in terms of profitability.

GTA V > RDR2 in terms of profitability.

1890s and 1980s are completely different types of "past eras".

GTA VI story will probably be an enhanced version or GTA IV and Vice City. Areas they could of done better at. Im sure Rockstar knows Vice City and Liberty City are fans favorites. More international characters, a wide array of landscape and wildlife, and clothing customizations are the current trends.

Yeah, the website is all pink now

the chances of liberty in 6 are about 50/50 i would say it actually would not shock me if they cut most or all of countryside and just had vice city and liberty city the two cities as the main map assuming this is indeed a smaller tittle then we think but i trust jason s so i think he is telling the truth .

if we saw an next gen lc alongside vice city and they cut out the countryside i would take that after all around florida we only really have swampland which would basically be just a enlarged lemoyne so that would not bother me .

and if they are truly planning to have all three cities in online going  into the future gta v san andreas for the next gen gta v online and vc lc for gta 6 online which i assume will be modern day anyway that would make sense .

that podcast tied to we think the legit scouting letter did say other states so assuming this is legit it could be new york and new jersey which is also in 4 were the other states and rockstar is looking to use the basic 4 map just a bit of update from that .

just a theory that do the likely i would still say its more likely it will be just miami and the everglades .

if it is lc and vc i would say it will be a fast travel and they are  different islands that are far apart on the map like cayo perico is in the upcoming dlc .

whenever people hear that VI might be a period piece, they act as if they were about to be sent back in time to the middle ages as a punishment. if VI does take place in the past, what's the worst thing that could happen? everyone would buy and play this game anyway. Online 2 would still get updated with modern weapons and vehicles because why not? or Rockstar can simply set Online in the present if they are too scared of scaring off their younger player base. people are making this into a bigger deal than it should be. if Rockstar wanted to make the 80s work in a modern GTA game, they easily could

Exactly when we was younger GTA Vice City was set in the 80s ... did that stop anyone in class from wanting to play the game ? Nope it didn’t in fact we didn’t really care like that. Also let’s factor in the game the game including GTA online should not even be considering the younger audience as it’s not a game made or rated for them

Middle Class Roadman

A modern day setting will literally be GTA V: 2.0 - Especially if it's set in Vice City which has a very similar vibe and look to Los Santos.

I just want to last longer in gunfights and not get shredded by police officers when not in cover like in V, and also I hope they bring back the Vigilante mission, atleast something to do after you finish the story other than mowing down cops.

It's very deep, personal, emotional. It's really, really hard to achieve all of this when the story is more "open".

I wish we could say that about a Grand Theft Auto game. Maybe Grand Theft Auto VI is going to be deep, personal and emotional...? Or maybe it's going to be just another cheap fun.

In 10 years gaming systems will be good enough to run almost every photorealistic game in VR

edit: well... realistically speaking probably more like 20-60 years

Separate in the sense that the installs are separate for the benefits this brings plus the ability to sell them individually, yes.

Separate in the sense that GTAO2 will have zero to do with GTA VI, highly unlikely IMO. I fully expect that GTA VI will be the base foundations of GTAO2, map, vehicles, mechanics, etc etc.

I will also be hella shocked if they don't sell GTA VI and GTAO2 as just one package day 1 with no option to buy them individually initially as combined they create a lot of value for the price of the box which is potentially even more important due the cost of AAA titles going up this generation. Value for money has always been a driving force behind sales of Rockstar's biggest games, people knowing they will get their monies worth and all that.

Unless they allow character transfers again I really hope there isn't a "2". I could see them still releasing gta vi, but then just updating the new Online they're going to be releasing in 2021. I have a feeling that the new updated version of Online coming in 2021 will be laying the foundation. It could create a blank slate if you will, with cleaner code and a more planned approach to updates that won't f*ck up the game with new bugs since they now know that Online mode is popular and isn't going away. How cool would it be if when VI comes out, that map just gets added into the current online world? Eventually the Online portion of the game will just become a massive GTA continent comprised of the V map and anything released going forward as one big explorable space (I'd assume the number of players in one session would be bumped up as well so it doesn't feel empty).

No

Expect nothing at the game awards. Geoff Keighley makes 1 big reveal like the Xbox series X reveal but that's about it whatever the big reveal this year is it's not going to be GTA.

Rumours all pointing to Elden Ring.

why didnt they do the same to GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas, rereleased them with improved graphics for each platform just like they keep doing with GTA5.

The 3D era games don’t compare favourably to modern open world games. They have weird mechanics and controls, a lot of asset repetition and tiny maps. If you played them at the time that stuff won’t bother you but to update them into modern feeling games is a lot more work than porting GTAV. Also you can’t sell shark cards in them.

I replied in the other thread but I'll put it here too. I agree on the GTA V: 2.0. A modern setting again would be a mistake. If they do that it will start to feel like Saints Row, to me.

Regarding VC being similar to LS? I disagree. If that's the case we could never do Chicago as it'd be too similar to NYC. It has been done to death on here but LA is Mediterranean and mountainous. It is a huge, flat expanse whereas Miami is tropical, flat and built on islands. Miami has a greater connection to the Caribbean and criminal-wise, a greater connection to NY than LA does (in the sense of they're used to being a sizeable Mafia presence in Miami there while the LA family was much smaller). My argument is that, while 2002's VC was amazing, it wasn't done justice (it was done in just one year). Rockstar argued they wanted to do LC justice in IV (after III) and I reckon they'll argue the same for VC. Rockstar has never really focused much on Latin American crime and, after wasting this chance in V, the next best place is VC. Plus, the success of Narcos, has, to me, showed another story that could be set there that hasn't been focused on. I'll keep on saying it but for me, a Vice City set in 1989 or even 1990 as the power shifts from Colombia to Mexico will give us the grounded "GTA IV" meets Vice City that I think would be a winner.

Rockstar should make Las Venturas and San fierro games as expansion dlc's on Gta V 2.0 (after a small gta 6 tease) , This will profit on both reputation and sales
