Things like animations for gear shifting, detailed car interiors, multiple cities, and so much more man.

I am highly excited and looking forward to this game after seeing RDR 2.

Ohh the possibilities because of ps5's i/o ssd etc. :D

Also many electric vehicles as well in modern times.

How do you even come up with that?

I agree with him to some extent. I love RDR2 and think it's a masterpiece, but after you finish it it's just downright boring. If I wasn't a Rockstar fanboy I wouldn't have even bothered.

After you finish RDR2 it becomes extremely boring. And it's not because there's not much to do, GTA IV and GTA V suffer from the same fate. Yet I always return to GTA IV and GTA V to goof off but not RDR2. People like interacting with modern-ish societies (80's counts) more than the old west or stone age era. It's the cold truth. I can easily relate to these modern things, I can't really relate to cowboys.

Yeah, Rockstar added some details to Grand Theft Auto V, but didn't add those you mentioned, and also working wipers, indicators and so on...

There are many things Grand Theft Auto games lack (I'm not talking about 3D Era Grand Theft Auto games, because these games lack absolutely everything) and I'm sure they will add them in Grand Theft Auto VII.

That's true for me too. For the same reason I wouldn't like a Grand Theft Auto game set anywhere else than the United States of America.

The car interiors in V are a real afterthought, I think we can all agree on that.

But in VI, they will be included from the beginning. So I guess they will be much better and much more unique for each vehicle.

As for 80s or not ... yes, please. Another game set in modern times would be a real turn-off for me. I wouldn't be nearly as hyped as with the 80s. But it's all about the atmosphere. GTA V isn't atmospheric at all. RDR2 is. Which is why I can still play that, despite it's online mode having nothing to offer. It's just relaxing to play and beautiful to look at.

And yes, I think they should focus more on RPG ... for online only. Online is where I am really looking for these elements, it's what keeps me playing.

Offline, I don't need it. I'm mostly done with the story mode as soon as the story is over. I'll move on and focus on online, my online character and his story. Also I am not a fan of this "your actions change the course of the game"-stuff, always makes me feel bad lol

Do they even need to make GTAO2?

Yea. Clean slate brings new reasons to get people to invest into the game with both time and money, a clean slate also means they can take advantage of new technology MUCH easier and implement and do things that they can't in current GTAO due to technical limitations. Fancy new stuff = exciting for players = more players = more money.

Best clean slate = setting it in the past

Still of the opinion:

GTA VI Storymode = past (80's)

GTA Online =  through the years will turn to modern day (feasible way to do multiple eras)

For GTA O, that’s if Rockstar changes the fact that currently 1 real year in gta o is 1 real year in real life.

If online relating to VI is set in the 1980’s then it will always be set 40 years in the past.

If 1 real year is 2/3 gta o years in VI’s online, then in about 15 real years it would be modern day. Then we could go into the future pretty fast.

For me I actually like constantly playing “in the past” as it will be always nolgastic. So 1 real year should still be 1 gta o year.

Let's be real guys, new GTA is gonna come out eventually, it's gonna blow our minds, for a second we won't think of all the issues regarding the company, regarding the GTA Online fiasco, regarding everything wrong with the gaming industry today.

Then the dust will settle for the drought that will fall upon us waiting for the new info, every piece of info is going to be reviewed extensively and then we get new info and so on and so on. The game releases and we finally play what we waited for almost a decade (if we see it in the next 3 years) and finally comes the part where we fall into depression realizing this isn't the Rockstar we loved so much. We are moving on and so are they.

To be quite honest the best part for me will be the ride until release, when we get our first info and we dig into it. I was here when this happened for GTA V and it was something amazing. However I must express my hope that we get something soon because, well it's almost 10 years ffs.

The majority of the modern day GTA crowd isn't made up by people who played Vice City and a modern day setting allows them to have a much better variety of equipment, vehicles, homes, etc etc. GTA VI set in 80's Vice City would sell bucket loads but GTAO2 set in 80's Vice City would do worse than a modern day GTAO2, and GTAO2 is where the real money is at.

GTA VI and O2 should be two separate games from the start. this way single player could be set in the 80s and to play it safe Online 2 would be set in the present. it's the only logical way forward for GTA

Gta5 released in 2013 and released on ps5 6 years with a 1 year delay in 2020

Leak debunked and Gta 6 was never being worked on, cause the gta devs no longer work for Rockstargames!

I will be very, very surprised if GTA VI is set in anything other than the modern day personally.

I subscribe to the notion that from now on Online is going to be entirely separate from MP. Hell, aren't they doing that with the next-gen release of V?

Separate in the sense that the installs are separate for the benefits this brings plus the ability to sell them individually, yes.

Separate in the sense that GTAO2 will have zero to do with GTA VI, highly unlikely IMO. I fully expect that GTA VI will be the base foundations of GTAO2, map, vehicles, mechanics, etc etc.

I will also be hella shocked if they don't sell GTA VI and GTAO2 as just one package day 1 with no option to buy them individually initially as combined they create a lot of value for the price of the box which is potentially even more important due the cost of AAA titles going up this generation. Value for money has always been a driving force behind sales of Rockstar's biggest games, people knowing they will get their monies worth and all that.

How important to GTA Online’s success is the time period that it takes in place in?

Assuming the game is set in the past, do you guys think that Rockstar is willing to bet that the general player will be as interested in Online if it lacks modern technology?

Day 1? Probably not but beyond? They would have to convince people, that VI SP alone is worth more than V SP and Online was before. It would be awfully hard to do this after GTA V.

FOMO

Fear of missing out. A lot of kids play GTA Online if they see their friends all playing GTA Online they will want to play it too. What Rockstar has to do is give it a lot of activities and support it and avoid the mistakes they made with Red Dead Online where they pretty much abandoned it.

There's a significantly larger chance of GTA VI materializing in front of you though alien technology, via UFO's hovering above your house, piloted by small blue aliens wearing santa costumes.

We've been through this the past 6 years.

No

Expect nothing at the game awards. Geoff Keighley makes 1 big reveal like the Xbox series X reveal but that's about it whatever the big reveal this year is it's not going to be GTA.

Oh definitely has turned into a money cow, They still have a lot of milk left from this current gta online to suck on before moving on. Gta5 is due to land on the ps5 late 2021 my friends

Thats the only confirmed information we have.

Edit: why didnt they do the same to GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas, rereleased them with improved graphics for each platform just like they keep doing with GTA5.

It will be (obviously) better than RDR2. They'll once again push the limits of consoles for the snow physics and animations.
