On consoles RT won't make RDRII run worse than it does now. GPU in PS5 is easily 2x faster than the one in Xbox One X.

Well technically there have been 16 GTA games released so that means that GTA VI already came out years ago. What we're really waiting for is GTA 17.

Holy sh*t, nice. RDR2 with Ray Tracing is basically a next gen game. I'm planning on building a PC with RTX 2060 so it's gonna be great ;)

why 2060? when will be RTX 3070,3080,3090?

I never played LCS but man, they took "Demolition man" mission from Vice City to a whole new level.

(+ more concerned how this will affect VI)

It would be like how Spider-Man Miles Morales handles it, performance mode with 4k60 and Fidelity mode with 4k30 and ray tracing. Both next gen consoles can perfectly handle 4k60 unless they use the max settings from PC and don't optimise it well enough.

I'm lucky I'm even buying a 2060, was planning on buying 1660 super at first, lol. And 2060 is the cheapest RTX card so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If they will release RDRII for next-gen consoles I hope, that they will make sure, that it makes use of PS5 architecture capabilities. Don't get me wrong, RDRII load screens are just beautiful but watching them for 40 seconds every single time you want to play this game is far from being fun.

Spoiler

Or Grand Theft Auto Vice City if you include the London mission packs as games, rather than DLC/Expansions.

Yea. I love the loading screen music. Only it wasn't that loud... I had to turn the volume all the way up lol.

I feel like many people will be sad when they realize that past is not as profitable as modern day era for R*.

You can be rest assured that Vice City nostalgia would pay the electricity bills for Rockstar.

34 million people who bought RDRII don't agree with you.

He's more than likely 100% correct.

The majority of the modern day GTA crowd isn't made up by people who played Vice City and a modern day setting allows them to have a much better variety of equipment, vehicles, homes, etc etc. GTA VI set in 80's Vice City would sell bucket loads but GTAO2 set in 80's Vice City would do worse than a modern day GTAO2, and GTAO2 is where the real money is at.

I will be very, very surprised if GTA VI is set in anything other than the modern day personally.

Do they even need to make GTAO2? Kids are literally flooding T2 with their pocket money and they probably wouldn't stop even in 10 years. Not to mention, that GTA Online has become some kind of GTA + Saints Row bucket. On one side you have cool things like trafficking, empire management, lowriders, heists and so on and on and on but on the other hand you have...alien survivals, oppressor and who knows what else...

Still of the opinion:

GTA VI Storymode = past (80's)

GTA Online =  through the years will turn to modern day (feasible way to do multiple eras)

You forgot to count Gta Los Santos, Gta Mount Chilliad, Gta San Fierro, Gta Bone County, and Gta Viva Las Venturras.

Oh totally forgot Gta Los Santos II Payback.

I got tired of people saying that GTA Online set in 80s wouldn't be profitable. And also tired of writing the same thing over and over explaining why it's really not a problem, in fact it's actually more fitting to the 80s in a way.

Just read this, people. Please don't say the same "Modern day online would be bad because they can't add flying bikes" sh*t again please.

If flying bikes in 80s isn't realisitic, tell me this, Is it realisitic to have Flying bikes in Present day? Online is meant to be Arcadey. Doesn't matter if it's set in the past.

GTA Online already feels like someone was watching a lot of 80s movies/tv series and decided to put all of this into GTA Online, the game is just not set in 80s.

In my opinion VI should have more RPG games elements! R* needs to stop making games like Hollywood movies!
R* knows how to make great games with their old formula... but they need to try new things!
Imagine if RDR2 had several storylines and you could change story! + deeper interaction with NPCs and Characters!

For online they should have a more flexible version of RAGE ....imagine if it was possible to have your own island!
For example if 40 players are in server....their islands will spawn in sea in random places near main city!
Or ability to make friends in NPCs or make enemies! next time you join online they will remember you!
And things like this!

That would be very bad idea, I think. For me RDRII story is part of a story of Arthur Morgan life, outlaw who died in 1899. It's very deep, personal, emotional. It's really, really hard to achieve all of this when the story is more "open".

I do, however, agree with deeper interactions with NPCs. But the multiple storylines and changing the story? Nah, that's like Cyberpunk. Rockstar always makes games that are like watching a movie, heck RDR2 is even better than Hollywood movies nowadays(I'm talking about those superhero/action movies).

But maybe like RDR2, there should be more than one endings of choice. Otherwise it would lose the value of a great story if the story is not something that's fixed in a certain way to evoke your emotions, if that makes sense lol.

There are still at least couple years of time to add all the rest of things exclusive to present day to GTA Online

if they go the way of advancing VI Online time period through the years, then by the time they would reach modern day (how Online is now) would be time for the next game's release (VII)

also economy changes they do (inflation etc.) would be more understandable

Or at least changing minor things that will effect on main cutscenes will be cool for VI! I mean when you play for second time or third time you don't want to feel you saw everything you want to try new things and see new things! They need to work on it!
