Maybe because it's their game and they can actually you know unload Los Santos and load whatever we're going to, it's been like this for decades there's no like magic involved it's optimization

Maybe...it's just the ultimate version of orbital cannon MK VI to launch player back and forth  between the island and san andreas,not runaway for airport,this would make some sense for the teleport process.

Let's face it. The PS4 and Xbox One were garbage consoles. They may have had some great games, but the hardware was poor even at launch. It's been a theory of mine for the past 2 or 3 years that part of the reason we've seen fewer games from developers is because they're too limited by the consoles. Don't get me wrong, the overwhelmingly biggest reason is dev times increasing. But the CPU's on those machines were just crap. I wouldn't be surprised if developers were happy to release fewer games and wait for next-gen where possible. 

 

Naughty Dog only made 2 games, and Rockstar only released one. Again, not a great example. And I'm not convinced, either. Just a thought.

I actually think I'll end up wrong. COVID-19 just muddied everything. But yeah, GTA V next-gen just having a broad 'second half of 2021' window is odd. If it were scheduled for fall... why not just say fall? makes it seem like they want it out ASAP. Which I guess is kinda' obvious lol. But still.

About equal size I would say. At least I think the island would be as long as Sandy Shores, obviously with less stuff on it.

 

What I can't make out is whether there's a settlement near the coast. There seem to be more roads than the ones highlighted with red lines.

Providing it's Apparently is easier to develop games for next gen and the hardware is good. I hope we will have more than one game from Rockstar. Maybe a smaller game.
