Personally i love the Viber/zoom meetings.

I don't have to drive 1-2 hours just for a "pitching" meeting that MIGHT land the gig (and almost all of the digital ones have been successful)

Some guys are old school though and don't accept the new medium/want a faceoff.

Even though it's fake, the description of the protagonists is honestly how I imagine them to be. That is if we get a male-female dynamic.

You all know Rockstars history with big time celebrities...

They would never cast celebs as main characters i can bet ya money on this.

Heres a couple of reasons:

1. Egos. They already had issues with Vice City. Different times sure but still, egos could pose a big problem.

2. Payments. The bigger the star=more money. Logical.

3. Gta has the power to create stars. Usually they cast celebs to ensure that the project will have as much exposure as possible. Gta IS the star. Having a celeb would be redundant.

4. That might be my personal opinion but having established actors as main characters makes me ... Uneasy and is kinda "alienating" if i could use that word.

When you got a not so established actor as a main character, you "connect" his likeless to the game. 

It's like hes/shes clean slate. 

Imagine having Ryan Gosling as a main character...

That would be problematic since he is known from multiple projects so you won't necessarily think of Gta everyone you see him

 

5.edit: forgot the most important one: schedule. Lol good luck getting an A star on these mocaps shoots when he has to shoot a couple of movies. It ain't like they use them for 3 months. We are talking about 3-5 years!! (With pauses between sure but still it's a lot)

but now R*  has a way different image. Everybody knows them, if you look at interviews back then, many actors said they were not interested at first. Now, Games make more Money and are more sold than Movies and Series.
I can even imagine that some Actors want to be in a R* Game and reached out to them.

And now, actors are all pussys, back then Actors said and did what they wanted. They had there own difficult Character in Real-Life.
