Ain't nobody knowing a November announcement date in... April. This sorta applies to release dates too, it's a bit too early for date/month depending on the project.

 

isnt it true that R* did sth like ~100 possible trailers (for rdr2?) and its a tough process to get a final trailer out of this? (i think it was an interview with them for the rdr2 release)

 

 

i also think there are two options that make most sense (for marketing and economy aspects)

1) R* will announce the existence of a gta 6 in 2021 (probably second half of the year) ... then we wont hear anything about it until they fully release gta online e&e

or

2) we will hear nothing at all about gta 6 until they released gta online e&e, but then the time period between announcing gta 6 and releasing it could be smaller

 

imo 2) is more likely, we live in different times than back when gta 5 was about to get released, R* will want to make sure they have a release date that is set in stone (not like cdpr), and nowadays there is no real need for R* to announce a next gta title years before, gta online is running well money-wise, they have gta online e&e in their pipeline, ps5 and xsx still have distribution problems (most likely not fixed until the end of 2021 or even 2022), and announcing gta 6 after gta online e&e (so maybe in the second half of 2022 ? ) with a guaranteed release in 2023 will be no problem ("guerilla marketing", short but intense marketing period)

 

obviously no one really knows what will happen but thats my best guess

You always make a lot of videos during game dev whether to show during meetings (how a certain feature is working, to show story beats to writers, etc etc) and for many other reasons, but fully fledged trailers there's no way there were 100 lol.

I really-really need the next nextgen PS5 show and I really want to replay GTA5 with 21st century graphics. Microsoft is apparently ready, Sony should follow suit.

i guess 100 in the meaning of "trailer-concepts", not fully scripted trailers we get to see in the end

Well it's pretty much confirmed because when PC port of RDR2 released refrences to the codename Americas were found in the game files

GTA VI campaign is almost done. A little team still work on it to polish some details.

 

Most of the team moving towards GTA:Online 2. Aiming to have a « little » playing content. Less than GTA:Online in 2013. No heist. R* aiming the QoL first. A lot of little DLC (missions, cars, weapons) scheduled for the first year.

 

Currently scheduled for Fall 2022 in the offices. Might be push to early 2023 depending of others projects.

Surprisingly more "reasonable" than many other "theories" out there for sure. GTA campaigns are never fully FULLY done until the later stages of development but still. Also disagree about the GTAO part. It's gonna have quite a lot to do like GTAO 2013 imo.

Everytime Rockstar releases the first trailer we see an unfinished build of the game - a lot can change in one year, not to mention two years. 

 

So... I don't think they would be "polishing small details" by now.

And work from home has had such a big impact, with studios being closed for like a year now.
