Natural Motion Endorphin isn't an asset Rockstar created? Renderware Engine back in the day wasn't an asset Rockstar created?

Whatever, I apologize for getting off track, but my skill set, talents and my brilliant mind cannot be denied. 😂😭

For me a crime theme (similar to GTA) alone would have to be paired with R* level of quality to be enjoyable.

This is the issue with the industry, is that no one else has produced an open world experience with the detail level of R✪'s games other than R✪ themselves. I agree with you on this.

You're correct, neither are assets Rockstar created. One was developed by Criterion and the other was developed by Natural Motion.

Man, if you knew the amount of stuff that is necessary to get (for example) assets approved into a triple A game... From meetings about the work that was done today in a specific area and how close it is to milestones, or about a specific art style, to making new assets based off of concept art (that itself may need to be redone) to reviewing your assets because they may not be to the production's standards, to ensuring there aren't any legal issues with textures...

Not to mention, for the tools and build people, who need to ensure everything is imported into the game correctly (especially when you "roll your own" engine, where you use all custom asset export/importers, file parsers and generators, etc.), having to manage version control and CI pipelines for everything to be imported into the game automatically and for things to be tested and to be looked into in-engine properly, etc. etc. etc.

Game dev has so many layers to things that seem simple to the common "gamer" that many times it's impossible to explain them, even when the explanations come from actual devs (yeah many "gamers" out there who refuse any explanation from even actual game devs) lmao. Now imagine this at very large scale, when making a large city, complex AI programming, complex scripting, trying to follow a specific project target that may change at any time during early-mid development (and sometimes even late!).

AAA isn't your indie dev starting out (and very well, it's very valid!) with pre-made assets (asset flipping) or simple things they made in 3D Studio Max and import into Unreal or Unity with pre-made tools and readily available scripts and call it a day. Scripting also isn't grabbing something like UE3's Kismet and connecting dots, again, especially if you "roll your own". Some engines have that ability, but it had to be made by someone - why there's departments for game tools, dev tools, art tools, etc. and they're VERY important for any game dev as otherwise not a lot could be done without their toolsets! (Those #map, clip, etc. files you see in RAGE? All generated by tools that had to be programmed themselves!)

You could go on all day about actual game dev, and I recommend everyone a very VERY deep read of this blog who was recommended to me by someone:

https://askagamedev.tumblr.com/post/150314247111/frequently-asked-questions

BTW: It's NaturalMotion Euphoria, and Rockstar worked with them on a custom build of it for games starting with GTA IV. It's not made by Rockstar and that's called middleware. RenderWare is also middleware and was the renderer, not engine for the classic III-era games. The engine (game logic, script, audio, etc.) was fully custom by Rockstar North, which is why you find remnants of GTA SA files in GTA IV, basically when a lot of the logic was merged into San Diego's then Frankenstein version of RAGE.

Ok guys I'm sorry for getting the topic off track. I'm a big loser and just wanted to feel important for a split second. None of my projects will ever amount to success and I will never work for Rockstar Games. I will leave you guys be for a while.

Also to maybe add the obvious, that we're "only" talking about the technical side of development here. There's also the vast and expensive creative side that can't be bought off the shelf either, it's created by real people.

Scriptwriting

Acting

Mocap

Sound effects

Background music

Scouting and research

Environmental mapping

Vehicle design

Clothing design

Animation

Editing

Lighting

Etc...

3-5 second google search. Also every game dev isn't on the same level of expertise but I wouldn't expect everyone on here to know the difference and also I'm pretty sure I know a lot more about game developement, more connections to developers and have more opportunities in the industry than quite a few in here. Whether you like it or not, felt offend or insecure it's your problem. Pretty sure I worked for AAA gaming companies before, know more people at Rockstar Games than you and currently get paid to make and teach games whether you like it or not I am that dude, confidently.

What game are you currently working on? What companies have you worked for in the past? Just curious.

What this Grand Theft Auto V clone needs is a bus. Just add a bus and you have a Bus Simulator 2022 ready to go.

I think, that for many people it's simply impossible to understand how complex games has become. Current AAA game development has positions that didn't even exist 10 years ago.

Or a mission like this where they kill all the protagonists from other games. In this mission they killed the protagonists from Driver, True Crime Streets of LA, and The Getaway.

Who do you think they might kill if they do this again in VI? Defintely Aiden Pearce, Marcus Holloway, V, Geralt, and maybe The Boss lmaoo.

I'm curious to see how they deal with physics now that they have powerful hardware available to work with. Then again the online portion might make them tone it down...

Euphoria in rdr2 is pretty low , what if they lower it in gta VI too ? ragdolling physics won't be cool then or what if they just come with another level of RAGE Euphoria 🤔

Also, if 7-11 is a legit clue, it just specify the day and month, not year.

Imagine scheduling a date for an announcement many months prior without even knowing how the build of the game is ~1 month or so before that supposed date. GTA V's first trailer was made not long before it released, probably because devs had to work on a special build stable enough for each planned trailer scene (working on Blaine County? nope, please fix these things in LS so we can show them in the trailer first)

Ain't nobody knowing a November announcement date in... April. This sorta applies to release dates too, it's a bit too early for date/month depending on the project.

Why is that a clue now all of a sudden? Where's it from?

I assume it's from that Gonnae video. That was just a truth video for his Cayo Perico hints uploaded last year before the update. The orignal video was a recording of a ship with 3 7's on it. In the truth video, he shows that he was hinting at the logo when flipping it upside down. Each 7 on the ship represents a line behind the 7. So because there was 3 7's in total, there was 3 lines behind the 7, which makes the logo, if you know what i mean.

It has nothing to do with a GTA 6 date.
