My prediction: The next pinned tweet (or the next one after this) is going to be about the GTA Trilogy Remaster/Remake which it's going to be announced in the end of April or during May, but most probably May.

I am watching the Miami Vice movie atm. Paused it just to post these 2 facts

1. If Miami Vice the tv series is the reason i love the 80s, miami, drug dealing games/series/movies then Miami Vice the movie can be the reason i could despise all of the above (not that its possible just saying).

Literally one of the worst remakes of all time. Characters have no personality they just share the same names, that's where the similarities end

 

2. The villain is literally Sam Houser. LITERALLY looks like his clone.

 

Anyway hope Rockstar steers away from the movie when it comes to references/research for Vi.

Oh yeah the Miami Vice movie is just terrible.

 

That was the point where Michael Mann's career just went south. Miami Vice and every movie after that he made were just bad.

Man i knew it was bad but how can could he possibly f$#k it up so hard?? I mean seriously its like he deliberately thought:

 

"'well let's see. Original Miami Vice had vibrant cinematography, humor, interesting characters with their personal arcs, action driven by narrative and not the other way around. Nah sounds redundant.

Oh but they also had Sonny, Tubs, Trudy etc. As names. Yeah let's keep them names! Its gonna be a HIT. Also let's shoot the movie with a Camcorder who needs cine cameras? "

The funny part is that the movie was based on this episode of Miami Vice. The show did it much much better. He probably could have picked a different episode to base it on or try to tie the old show into it somehow looking back though it's a good thing he didn't try to tie the show into it because it would have ruined the show.

 

The movie hardly even takes place in Miami. They also had issues the ending had to be rewritten because Jamie Foxx left during filming and never came back lmao.
