I was actually thinking about this recently.

With V we've had the casting call and a lot of websites stating that Rockstar will announce V soon (a couple of months before announcement)

 

With Vi we got a location scouting document and a podcast basically confirming its validity but then... Nothing.

 

Even Jason Schrier said that the game is ij early development so we've got a long road ahead of us.

 

Tez and Yan also stated the game is 80 percent done but where exactly did they get that figure?

 

Idk i don't want to piss on past leaks that turned out to be legit and the hard working data mining process but if the trilogy ain't a thing after all ( tez pretty much said that it's legit ) then even those trusted people will start losing credibility... Too many red flags.

 

Jason speculated a 2022, 2023 release which is not as far out as many make it out to be. I really can't see them going past 9-10 years between games. RDR2 went way past schedule, and I can't see them going over that again. Most likely COVID has pushed them back a bit, but Take Two asserts not much disruption to workflow. If anything I could see them cutting content to meet deadlines as a more likely scenario.

I do expect a 2024 release date due to covid. It's still 3 years away though!

Or maybe we could see the game earlier in an episodic form like he said in the article.

I don't think that will happen though.

Anyone remember that famous tinsletown rumor article back around mid 2012 before the summer reveal of that first screen shot of  LS. The casting call characters and the possible location of the game..  Same thing now with the location scout paper for Florida’s location.  I’m trying to figure out if they used a NY casting agency or a LA one. I think they used a LA one with the relation to the Mexican, that usually had work in Florida, under telemundo or Univision.

The casting leak was March 2011, right after the domain name leak. I don't remember any major leaks in 2012, like those.

If I'm gonna guess, it's something about his persona again. A new project or something like that. He did the same on Oct 26 last year, where he showed everything that he got right withRDR2 back in 2017. March 26 last year was all about that too, where he started the whole board and apostles thing. And besides looking at history for hints, I don't imagine he'd be keen on just giving people a date like it's nothing after all the work he puts into his riddles. That's just my opinion
