Except when the alternative is likely to be even worse. The cautionary tale of Cyberpunk illustrates what happens to a huge and hyped AAA title if you get it out way before it's ready. Rockstar and T2 can survive and thrive if the next GTA takes years more to come out, especially if they release other titles in the meantime. Their future might be much more precarious if they launch a premature GTA6 that turns into a reputational and financial disaster.

This is exactly the reason not to anounce. it would be dumb to anounce a title with a minimum chance of delay, after the Cyberpunk situation.

You can be rest assured that you would have seen something from Gonnae like StOrM Is CoMiNg. As he didn't post his regular gibberish prior to 25th of March, there won't be anything.

On 25th March 2020 the Scottish dude trolled this entire forum about the GTA VI announcement. So... it's 1 year anniversary I guess. A special date for some people to remember how much of a fool they were.
