GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 5]

Bashing YouTubers and making the topic about it (or any other kind of antagonism) will net you a warning for derailing the topic.

Please use some common sense too while discussing subjects, don't delve too deep into speculating about people's personal lives (e.g. Houser departure from R*, Rockstar developers, etc.) as they deserve privacy and not a raging fan forum to make up things about them. Needless to say, any hate will be quickly nipped in the bud.

Did Mafia 1's world increase? Vice City's old map would be way too small.

Well, as much as i love Vice City, i don't want to play a HD remake of it (same with other 3D-era games), It is less interesting to explore stories and characters that we're already know.

apart from that, R* doesn't do that.

The use of Taxi for Rockstar Games, and the Police car for North, then the ambulance for Leeds.

Along with the amazing music which gives me goosebumps for a game I've never played. Then the whole style and art of the intro. Simply amazing. the guy who made this should have gotten a raise.

Rockstar sure as sh*t knows how to make great music and intros. And also spends their marketing money right. GTA VI marketing is gonna be amazing.

I'll be kinda pissed off if GTA VI doesn't have this sort of intro tbh.

U haven't played it? It was pretty good. Tho VCS had waaay better story. And pretty cool intro as well:

I honestly wouldn't mind a remake of the story. Tommy Vercetti was my favorite protagonist. But I do agree that they would have to add A LOT to it. In a similar way they expended RDR2 map compered to RDR1.

Make the map bigger, add new locations, new islands, new side missions, new activities and expend the storyline.

In other words, If VC = The main story, VCS = Prequel, Than maybe GTA VI = Extended HD remake of the main story + prologue + sequel?

I would be up for that. As long as Tommy dosn't end up with AIDS and dies at the end...

I'm a big fan of well-made remakes, but when it comes to the GTA series there is absolutely no need for that. Remakes make sense when there is a need to revitalize a game series or you have a long-lasting series where the storyline is interconnected between all the games, like Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Yakuza etc. So that if I picked up the latest Yakuza and liked the story, I don't have to buy a goddamn PS2 and play the first game to find out how it all started. Mafia is more of an exception to the rule. The remake was unnecessary, but Hangar 13 had to make up to the fans for the third game and it was certainly the best way to do it.

True, 100%. There is no need for a remake of any Grand Theft Auto game. What we need is new Grand Theft Auto games. The old ones are good and remakes would be just... lousy. I mean, what do you want them to remaster? Graphics? Come on, these games are perceived as good because they are what they are. 3D Era Grand Theft Auto games would be lousy when remade.

When it comes to MAFIA, though... well that game was special and better than most games released even nowadays, so a remake was a nice touch.

After checking out Watch Dogs: Legion and Cyberpunk 2077 and see their level of details, I’m actually glad that GTA 6 is delayed and seemingly not gonna be released any time soon. Those two games’ attention to detail are already amazing. Imagine that GTA 6 somehow has to surpass their level...R* should definitely refine GTA 6 during development and hopefully wait for even more advanced hardware to debut. I can imagine that GTA 6 will be played for a long time.

A key issue is that GTA 6 needs to be a game that is worth >7 years of wait.

Rockstar is the studio that had the best snow mechanics and let's not forget small details like shrinking horse balls or the fact that you actually see yourself skinning animals instead doing press e to loot bullsh*t Ubisoft in their games usually does. Regarding attention to details I am sure that shouldn't be a concern at all.

Agreed. I suppose the details you mentioned must be from RDR2. Good to hear.

People don't think too much when they come up with "pie in the sky" gameplay features.

Every npc being a individual that can be killed and not respawn means you can easily decimate cities and turn the map into some apocalyptic hellhole(cool idea for a pc mod terrible for single player campaign)

Its like letting every building be destructible, cool idea for a few minutes then a few moments later the map will be ruined forever

Since rockstar isn't a bunch of nutjobs they made sure that npcs had depth but still were just npcs(you can kill valentine's sheriff but he respawns),red dead 2 is a great example of arcade/realism world simulation.

I can't stand the fact that people want such games. I mean, I guess these games are cool, and all that, but... in my opinion so many resources are wasted because of that...

All I want is a game set in realistic environment...not some futuristic crap... come on, dudes.

That's a fair point tho.

Why remake something if you have even better story to tell?

oh sh*t my prediction summoned the preacher lmao, but hasn't Rockstar lost their imagination??????? Leslie Benzies is on his own sh*t now, with freedom of imagination.... I swear if The Preacher's actually here just to promote EVRYWHER3 someday XD

That's what I'm saying, but maybe his point is that Rockstar HAS lost their imagination, with the leaders of the most groundbreaking games gone...

It honestly doesn't feel beyond them to cash in on everyone's nostalgia.

guys I ain't saying I like it or would want it. I'm just saying I could see the 2020 R* (that has been updating Online for 7 years and is releasing GTA V to PS5) 100% cashing in as much as they can on Vice City. Cuz nostalgia.

I'm sure they can pull off a good remake of the 3d games, but they'd have to spend a lot of time, resources and manpower. Why bother investing all that in refining something we've already seen if you can do something new?

A properly remade San Andreas would rival most open world games today and it's a fact.

I also agree but they have the manpower to do both remakes and new things at once or they can hire someone like Bluepoint to do it for them, although that'll be very non-Rockstar-y.

At the end of the day if it takes 5 years for something like RDR2 then so be it. I can wait.

Though I'm pretty sure R* said the reason they didn't bring elements from san andreas (like weight gain) over to the hd universe was them being too difficult to implement with the new engine.

You're right, it had something to do with Euphoria.

They did incorporate similar weight gain/loss mechanics in RDR2, albeit not as exaggerated as San Andreas, so they could bring gym back in GTA6.

Remakes should be for older games and games that haven't had a new game for while. Remakes can be good and a test to see if people are interested in it and to see if an old/dead franchise or a cult classic has potential for it to come back.

Made yet another GTA VI logo. Dedicated to the biggest gangster of them all...Father Time.

gta_vi_logo_t_by_gregers07_de8h8rs-fullview.jpg?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOiIsImlzcyI6InVybjphcHA6Iiwib2JqIjpbW3siaGVpZ2h0IjoiPD02NTgiLCJwYXRoIjoiXC9mXC8wNDE4ZTgzYS1kOTUwLTQ3NjMtYjEwYS0wNzRlZjRlMzQ2OTlcL2RlOGg4cnMtN2FjNzFiMTgtODEyZi00ZmIxLTg4NzAtMjdhZDNhNDlkYTc5LmpwZyIsIndpZHRoIjoiPD04MDAifV1dLCJhdWQiOlsidXJuOnNlcnZpY2U6aW1hZ2Uub3BlcmF0aW9ucyJdfQ.2RsIL8pnRb9P8YgwzHvjM5FecjZLAnaBwDAf9P1yoe8

If the main theme of GTAV was the pursuit of the almighty dollar. I think the theme of VI could be the power of time, and all the inevitable changes it brings.

GTAV: Three Protagonists.

GTAVI: Three Eras?
