Zelnick rolled out this line again on Wednesday when asked during the Morgan Stanley conference if he could provide an update of when Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released.
 

“So, Rockstar hasn’t announced any new titles for the market and when there’s an announcement to be made, it will come from Rockstar, so I’ll probably leave you there, and I don’t think you would have expected anything different from me”, he said.

Back when v came out i thought that we would hear about gta 6 in 2019 at the latest.

 

i just can't believe it.

RDR was still a fairly hot ticket throughout most of 2019.  3 years after its release and 5 years since its announcement seems like the prime time to drop the GTA VI bomb.

Hey, there's some hope in that though. At least he said "when there's an announcement to be made..." and not "if"

Who wants after GTA VI R*'s games to be smaller!!!
North and san diego and others should be working on their own games!  just like old good days!!
This R* studios thing means all of them will work on 1-2 very big games every 10 years!

In my opinion, its very likely that we see more games in a short span, because the last 10 years were rough for Rockstar. Leslie leaving, GTA online huge success, the 'unification' of Rockstar into Rockstar Studios. Probably they wanted to deliver other games, but both RDR2 and GTA VI consumed most of Rockstar's time and resources

I prefer to get 3 amazing games from Rockstar every decade than 5 or 6 average games, that we get from almost any other company. Quality takes time.
