Can't we just let that Story Mode DLC thing go?

I don't want to be like "just get over it" ... but get over it.

I think, that people will eventually get over it once GTA VI will be released.

well i still have a hope for an undead part 2 , lets see if it will ever happen or not 🤞

Why would some people want so much Rockstar to make Undead Nightmare v2? Do you seriously want them to quote themselves?

The epilogue in RDR2 could easily have been story dlc but they bundled that in with the game.

Did you even play that game? It couldn't be. I really don't get that obsession with "story DLCs". It's like some people "need" story DLC no matter how long and great game is. If GTA VI will get as much love as RDR II then I couldn't care less about some DLCs...

I'm glad it came with the game and not as dlc, what are you moaning about?

It's funny people sh*t on other companies for having a "season pass" and story mode DLCs because they claim it's cut content that should have been in the main game but was cut and later sold as DLC but have double standards and now want Rockstar to do the same thing that they complain about.

Rockstar should only do a DLC if it's planned and the story calls for it. If it doesn't well then don't do it. V didn't really need a SP DLC I didn't like the story but they did what they set out to do.

right? this thing is going since 2015, when Rockstar cancelled the DLC, and until this day people are still bitter towards Rockstar because of that

I still believe that they never claimed SP DLC they said story mode "updates" not DLC and I'm sticking with that.

Probably because it wouldn't work as a dlc. The transition from Arthur's to John's story is seamless and they complement each other. Arthur's final mission doesn't quite resolves everything, and the rest is resolved in John's part. Usually expansions in games like let's say Witcher 3 are maybe the size of RDR2's epilogue but they mostly work as standalone games. RDR2's epilogue is closely tied to the Arthur's story, without the epilogue the game would feel incomplete and as if it ended abruptly.

And I don't even mind their focus on online.

For me to really care about a story, the rest of the game (like free roam) has to add up aswell. V lacked so many things in terms of free roam and activities, the missions were the only thing you could really do.

RDR2 on the other hand was fantastic. I wanted to play the missions to progress in the story, to find out what happens next. I cared about the characters, I loved free roaming with Arthur and to just get lost in the atmosphere of the game.

I hope VI has that as well. That feeling of actually wanting to take care of your character and explore the world with him.

To be honest, since GTA IV it has been "one step forward and two steps back".

GTA SA had it all. A fun story, big map, many things to do, good atmosphere.

GTA IV lacked the big map, but had probably the best story so far. You could still do some activities, but character customization was almost completely gone. So was car tuning, buying properties and some other stuff.

GTA V once again had a big map, businesses to buy and some new activities and customization options. But it lacked the good story, likeable characters, enterable buildings and things like eating. Buying real estate still hasn't made acomeback.

So for every cool nice thing we got, we had to lose some cool nice feature from the previous game.

I really really really hope that VI will be the ultimate GTA. No cuts. Everything in it and much more new stuff. And with 8 years and an entire console generation between games, I expect nothing less.

For me, San Andreas is a much more memorable map and game than V. I remember the feeling of wonder that you felt in the countryside on the first mission you saw it. Or the long drive to San Fierro for the first time through the tunnel in the pouring rain. Los Santos should have been more their own version of an LA style city and not just a compressed version of actual LA.

This might be a bit of an unpopular statement, but I really hope they don't do another game inbetween GTA6 and 7 (Or whatever they're gonna be called), because then it would probably only be around 5-6 years between games. As much as I love RDR2, I do love GTA more (not V, though) and I couldn't even really tell you why. Maybe they could make smaller games inbetween, but really I just don't want to wait 10 years between GTAs. I remember thinking, as a kid, of how many more GTAs I would get to play in my life. Well, if they keep this pace up the answer is about 5.

It's a matter of how long the game will stay relevant and lucrative.  GTA VI, just like GTA Online, will most likely be treated as a service, providing new content indefinitely, but there's no guarantee that they will be able to milk it as successfully.

One of my favorite things about GTA and open world games in general is exploring the map, getting to know it. I can't do that for 10 years.

Yea. Exploring a new GTA for the first time is the best feeling in gaming.

And i'll stay bitter about it, how can you drive past the casino in the single player game only to see it closed while it's open in the online portion of the game and not be annoyed.  It better be open in the remaster because there's no f*cking way i'm buying the game again unless some of the online assets are allowed into the single player game, i want to see the casino and some of the businesses from online made available to M, T and F.

I dont bother about things added to online that are not on story mode because I already accepted the fact that GTA V was dropped on 2015, and Rockstar focused in Online. And there are people that enjoy online, and dont get annoyed by that. Staying bitter because of that is just sad at this point. And I wouldnt hold my breath for any updates to Story Mode on E&E.

The new casino, the exclusive vehicles to the online mode, they haven't even bothered to put the new stations in SP

If it weren't for RDR2, my image of this company would be much worse than it is now.

It's almost as if 2015-2020 didn't exist. Why are people all of a sudden, in 2021, begging for a SP DLC?

I think someone just made a joke about it, then someone started complaining about people complaining about the lack of single player dlc, and then people started actually complaining about the lack of singleplayer DLC.

GTA 6 is going to be the game to pull me back into console life.

I haven't owned PS4 since 5+ years ago. I simply play counterstrike 1.6 on my laptop for my gaming fix.

But when GTA 6 comes out I just gotta geet it. Yeeah

I wasn't really begging for DLC, i just said that i wouldn't buy GTAV for the 4th time unless they allowed the casino to open in the single player game, i have zero interest in Online so the more stuff they make available on the single player side of things, the better chance they have of me coughing up some more cash.

I don't really think it's too big of an ask for some of the cars, radio stations, casino and possibly some of the online businesses to make their way over.  The businesses would probably be a tall order but the other stuff wouldn't be a big deal.

i don't mind if the casino isn't included - I'm not really into high-rolling money bets, flaunting cash or poppin bottles in "da club"

More missions with kewl interiors on the other hand though please 🥺

i was hoping for 2 dlc's only , like expansions of San Fierro and LV with two new protagonists ,
haha i was badly wrong (Sp was abandoned after 2014)

Wow, now that would be some huge DLC.

Maybe Grand Theft Auto V should have been Grand Theft Auto: Los Santos followed by Grand Theft Auto: San Fierro and now we would be getting some real Grand Theft Auto V.

I think R* promised too much to a small studio and didn't hold up.

They have a small team and triple A titles are demanding projects, that's all.
