More i think about it,moderate size game release might be due to game wouldn't have as many vehicles or weapons as GTA V/Online for example.Which is fine for me because most of the guns in GTA V is bunch of reskins with little characteristics,i'm fine with vehicles too if they meant to prioritize og vehicles in the series.

I hope they implement a navigation / GPS route system like Watchdogs so you don't need to look at the map or radar constantly to drive to your destination. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't mind it as an option. In GTA Online some of the color combinations made nearly impossible for me to see the route on the minimap.

although this is quite interesting, i don't know how you would upscale/ sharpen the texture that much unless you redid it.

You know I would thought they would be a tad bit more aggressive on the GTA styled games on the Google Play store that uses their assets.

Which ones uses their assets?

Something less handholdy, but yes every game that traditionally uses minimaps dearly needs to design against making the minimap so overly useful that you're better off spending most of your time staring at the minimap than the game in front of you - I don't care if that's how GPS navigation "realistically" works, there's more to game design than just aimlessly tending to realism. I'm sure Rockstar can come up with something that feels more natural than the big obtrusive racing line arrows most games go with...those definitely would be out of place.

I wouldn't want a mini map at all.

I would prefer a meet X by the Y bar on Z street. Let me enjoy the city this way, get distracted by a nice easter egg on my way, interact with the environment. I think that would be neat.

I don't use waypoints in Open Worlds. I try my best to memorize it or understand the roads. But still, I would prefer it if they stick to it being on the minimap rather than the road. Kinda ruins immersion if you ask me.

I think minimap-only GPS actually ruins immersion way more because you'll constantly be looking at the corner of your screen instead of the actual game. Maybe they could do a subtler approach like the Mafia games have, where there's just little signs on the side of the road telling you when to turn. And/or bring back the GPS voice from IV

EDIT: Another games that comes to mind is Far Cry 2, which would highlight the actual road signs you need to follow. Don't think it would work well with the kind of speeds you're going in GTA, though.

Well, it would be a good idea, once I thought the same, but I think it would not be immersive, when you look the map it is as if you were in the car looking at the GPS.
Although after a few hours of play you will know the map 100%, perhaps in the missions there may be a gps with voice and thus make it more immersive.

I think they will take one more step in this that you comment, surely they will improve it.

See, I don't like the GPS route being visible on the road. Just feels too arcadey, for me. Call it 'immersion breaking'. I don't know. Besides, after a couple of days, I know the map like the back of my hand anyway. The GPS usually just keeps me on course, but I don't require it.

That's what I think.
Seems to slap the word ReMaSteR/CJ garage door and act like he's part of a certain team.
OR..you know. But I doubt it.

I know there's a lot of mods that 'remaster' textures for games. I also know sometimes people let things slip in their online portfolios.

But I just had to ask, I wasn't sure how much you knew about it. 99% likely it's just fan work.

Why would a legit artist use OpenIV when they have Maya, 3D Studio Max, etc. at Rockstar?:lol::lol:  Come on guys, just another low effort fake of someone who wants to seem important.

In other news, @nicktestbranch you're useful again! https://steamdb.info/app/271590/history/?changeid=10699488

Also, they seem to be one of those guys who use AI to upscale textures from classic games, it's very common and it might very well be stolen from this forum. Just check out our own modding showroom for very similar HD texture mods using upscaling.

Edit: Actually looking at their other projects, they call themselves a remaster artist in the sense that they're modding stuff, so errr... GTAF misreading things and the guy putting fancy names at the same time once again.

Not today tho'

i like the OG radar on old Gta's , i would love to see a option in gta VI to turn off GPS route , Gta IV's GPS narrators were annoying

you can just turn off the hud to remove the minimap , but it also removes the stats and other things on the screen

It also makes missions unplayable with no way of knowing where to go. Although I suppose you could give the main menu map a quick check.

The only way I will be able to accept that is if we are able to turn it off.

I don't mind the GPS route because I follow it but not to the T most times. In a modern-era game I think it can stay, but should be toggleable for those who want to not use it (see RDR2 or Cyberpunk for granular HUD choices). I'd argue more that a game like RDR2 shouldn't have a route, but then again even The Witcher 3 (which apparently is many people's "gold standard") has it...

GTA VI only has to have a minimap when entering more modern cars with GPS, in old cars only if we equip it through customization, If you are walking around it might be nice to have a app on the phone just so you don't have to pause the game to see the map

Yeah I think playing without a mini map is a lot more immersive but It would be cool if there was a one touch feature where you could just toggle the mini map on/off with the press of a button, just so you could quickly check if you're heading in the right direction.

I bet that many didn’t know or forgot that you can change the minimap in RDR2 by pressing down on the d-pad. You can make the minimap big, normal or small, you can change it to a compass or you can remove it altogether

Should be. And the jacket looks... not that good to be honest. Mafia 2 jacket is on par with that remaster and that is 2010 game that was developed even earlier.

Seriously, clothing in that game was SO good that it's even better than modern day GTA Online crap that R* keeps pushing down our throat.

Spoiler

Something similar is available in RDR 2 and it will definitely make the way to GTA VI.

if that patent thing was legit , then we will have to play gta VI (singleplayer) with internet , so what about a companion app like gta v and rdr2 as a radar / map for mobile devices?

I don't like this idea of depending on another device, I prefer to be 100% immersed looking at the TV

There's a reason stuff like Smartglass and the WiiU failed. Relying on an external device for anything in a game is just asking for trouble.
