My point is the game is tiny. The world of VC made in 2002 was fine for the time but we have a lot better technology now. A new GTA game based in Vice City with all of this new tech means the world can be massive with a much bigger, much more detailed map to explore and build a story around. Better gameplay, a better map, more to do, and a better free roam experience do make a game better.

I'm sorry, but there are old games, which aged perfectly. Even Grand Theft Auto III aged better than Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

GTAVC had a lot of cool ideas scrapped and cut content, I wouldn't mind if rockstar explored them in GTA VI. Even if we already had two games set in VC in the 80's
 I believe the setting still has a lot of potential.

Both GTA III and GTA Vice City aged perfectly but let's not pretend, that it's impossible to make better games 20 years and 3 generations of consoles later. It's something called progress.

To be honest, and this will get a lot of "KEKW" reactions, but I believe in Project Americas. I believe that it's the only real big leak we've gotten so far.

what has changed that drastically since 2013 that would make the game not feel any different to GTA V other then a new engine?

Leslie Benzies himself said it would be strange to visit Miami [Vice City] if it was not in the 80s.

I sort of agree.

the stuff that was mentioned in that leak such as being heavily based around Narcos and the "younger Madrazo" intrigues me since the Cayo Perico DLC features both that.

as well as the whole "Americas" codename appearing in RDR2 files.

The "leak" you're referring to was debunked. The OP of that list used a fake rockstar employee and a former Kotaku employee as their source, both which were debunked.

 

This is the original project americas leak.

I'm worried about Dan Houser (and Lazlow to a lesser extent) leaving GTA. They were a vital part of the franchise. Dan Houser wrote all the stories, even if you prefer some over the others they were always memorable.

Here's the thing, while Dan Houser is, and always will be a great writer, He didn't singlehandedly carry the franchise on his back, that's impossible for a game that huge, he has his writing team whom I think will deliver a great story, perhaps a little better than Dan... If anything, I'm exited for how future Rockstar stories are going to be without Dan, Maybe it would feel fresh in a way.

I was just playing it the other day and the atmosphere is still f*cking awesome, The radio is better than GTA V, Not to mention Billie jean playing the first time we drive the car, it's just purely magical and makes me feel nostalgic for a decade I don't have the chance to experience. This is why it should be in the 80s, immerse yourself in a magical era instead of a real life simulator set in boring modern times that I can experience by walking outside lmao.

Tbh, I bet Rockstar wants to do their "Yet Another Game Company" or w/e thing again at some point given how aggressive T2 is becoming with all their labels. When Benzies was around they had a plan to secede from T2 IIRC.

Problem is these games take a lot of work. So let's say best case scenario Vi releases in 23. And then Rockstar manages to escape take twos control.

 

They would have to create an entire new game from scratch. New city, maybe even a new name? 

 

That will take time. Combine this with the fact that Dan Houser is a perfectionist and you are looking at the very least 10 - 12 years.... From the day Vi releases that is. 2035 or something? That don't mean much...

 

Vi is going to be the game we all want and expect. The vice city drug dealing adventure we all need.

 

So seriously I don't really care what happens after that. I just want Vi to be the best game possible and if the Preachers post is anything to believe (most of the times he is bs but not always) then i am really worried about Vi.....

They can't just leave like that. Rockstar Games is wholly owned by Take Two. People may leave but brands most likely still belong to T2.
