Stupid GTA questions

Recommended Posts

- Not trying to be homophobic or anything, but how was Freddy (the gang member who had *sexual* relations with OG Loc in prison) still accepted in the Vagos? I thought homosexuality was looked down upon in gang culture, especially in the 90s.

- How did Trevor know where Michael's casket was buried in "Bury The Hatchet" if he never went to Michael's funeral? Does Ludendorff have only one cemetery and Trevor looked there first or did someone tell him where it was located prior to the events of GTA V?

- How did Claude put up with a psycho wench like Catalina for 9 years? In fact, how can a relationship go for so long when one party doesn't even speak to the other?

- Was Niko an illegal immigrant? Did he sneak into America onboard the Platypus or does he have some sort of passport that I missed being mentioned in-game?

- CJ enters Area 69, guns down numerous soldiers, steals a jetpack worth 69 milly, and gets no wanted level. But visiting this same location in freemode or any other mission gives you an instant 5-star wanted level. What kind of logic is that?

I have always assumed he was based on how he arrived, Platypus didn't look all legit either.

Your previous question about Claude is kinda funny, I guess Catalina thought he was an extremely good and thoughtful listener  :prismkek:

-In the 3D era when the protagonists come across a locked convertible why don’t they just jump over the door to get in instead of pulling on the door handle like an idiot?

-What was Michael doing in the backseat of Jimmy’s SUV?

-What happened to the briefcase Niko had when he first met up with Roman?

-Why doesn’t Michael ever seem to lock his front door?

Either he was hiding from the noise and chaos of his family, or more likely he heard Frank sneaking around and as an experienced criminal, knew about the dealership's scheme

Burned during "Roman's Sorrow".

Speaking of suitcase, I like the case with CJ in San Andreas. Tenpenny steals his briefcase on the first mission, and uses it to collect money on the last mission.

I'm not from the Rural US but many small "townships" that tread the line between being a big village and a small city, in fact, tend to have just one cemetery where I am. I don't see what's odd about it, honestly. But it is kind of odd that Michael was buried there and not had his body transferred to his home state or hometown or anything like that. I know he probably didn't have any family members advocating for it but the people of Ludendorff definitely would have been against burying the man responsible for killing their family members in the same patch as them. I guess this is the part where we have to say: It's just a game.

Niko is definitely an illegal immigrant but he appeared to have touched ULP's heart or some such so he probably intervened and kept him from being deported, might have even officiated a citizenship for him with his connections.

What on earth does this line mean? Did he hang for 17 seconds on some bar in the prison gym or what?

I think the hang refers to pull-ups or bench lifting.  17s means muscle size

Sounds reasonable. Now I just wonder how doing that in prison made it real. I mean, I know he romanticizes prison and everything, but that's like saying he had never had real lunch until he ate one in prison.

Remember how Big Smoke says "Time to return the favor, baby. Get on!" in Just Business? Up until now I have always thought he meant that sarcastically as in we will return the "favor" to the Russians by gunning them down. But now I've been thinking, is he referencing Wrong Side of the Tracks? Did he mean he is returning CJ the favor by driving the bike this time around instead of having CJ do it? Or did he mean that it's time for CJ to return the favor for Smoke by being the gunner this time around?

I always thought CJ running in to save Smoke when they started shooting at him at the start of the mission was the favor being returned in that case, which is funny because we still have to cover his ass and gun down a dozen ruskies and do allthe heavy work to keep him safe.

- How on Earth does Trevor manage to become completely invulnerable by just merely getting mad? Does he trigger his rage ability every single time he gets really angry in general? Is this the actual reason why people are terrified of him? Because they know that they won't be able to fight back against him when he's like that?

- If Niko was convinced to go to Liberty City because Roman convinced him that he has a mansion with prostitutes in it, why did he never think to ask his cousin to send pictures of him in this supposed mansion with one of his letters? It's established from the start that Niko is aware of Roman's big stories and lies, so surely he would've asked his cousin for some form of "proof" before believing him on this, right?

We gotta remember that visiting Roman is not Niko's primary objective in LC. He's hunting down the traitor (Darko) to America, and it's a coincidence that Roman is living there. Niko probably have seen the red flags and been careful about it, but he knows that Roman is his only valuable contact in America.

Does anyone know what's the real life equivalent of these buildings? I have always been fascinated with these because they look a bit Middle Eastern or even a bit like Afghan villages, but what were they based on?

It's just a silly video game mechanic. Don't think Rockstar thought deeply about that

What was the point of Deconstruction? It's pointless in the grand scheme of things, you don't get money for it, respect for it, nothing.

Most likely the aborted property development "minigame" that never made it past the cutting room floor.

Did 9/11 happen in the GTA universe?

I don't think 9/11 has occurred in the GTA universe, 2D 3D or HD, although an incident has happened that's on the same level as 9/11.

Bringing the House Down from Liberty City Stories, which takes place in 1998, is the GTA equivalent to 9/11 imo

Something definitely happened in the HD universe as a "tragic event" is mentioned during John Hunter's commercial in IV. It's not an overly specific reference but considering the state of the city and the numerous references to terrorism in the game I think it's definitely meant to be a reference or something akin to 9/11.

I think these are based on Spanish architecture, which borrows quite a bit of oriental (especially North African) culture.

Unrelated to the question being asked, but I find this picture a bit odd since I don't think I've ever seen a Camper spawn in this neighborhood, and I played GTA SA to death so I must have known about it otherwise, did anybody else have this car spawn in that area?
