Actually I believe there are, but very small. Marked the ships with red, docks/dock-buildings with pink and the blue one is what I believe is a loading crane.

I disagree, I think they're buildings. But I mean actual ports or dockyards. Dodge Island is the largest passenger port in the world. Considering how they incorporated the docks into a heist in GTA V, I find it highly suspicious they wouldn't use the docks in GTA VI. It'd absolutely be tied into drug smuggling or weapons trading somehow.

Smaller, personal docks are likely in that map. They're all over the place in Miami.

I just don't get why whoever made it didn't include the docks. You'd think that'd be a dead giveaway.

What if the dockyard will be in this location underneath the city. And it isnt finished yet.

Too far away from the city. That'd be like the Los Santos docks being in Sandy Shores.

Link has to end in .jpg, .png, etc, then hit enter.

As someone I would say is an expert on map creating and photoshopping, I can see some strong signs that this map was most likely made in photoshop. The biggest givaway would be the evenness of the beach around the island.

Not often do islands have perfect beaches all around them. As well as there being almost no depth to the island through the water surface. The water it's self also looks like just a cloud filter.  I've studied many islands recently because of Guarma and can say that I'm more positive that this is fan made rather than legit. I could be wrong, but that's just my feeling.

I gotta confess, I was wondering when you'd pop in here. You're among my favorite users discussing map features, details, and design after the RDR II map began to be heavily analyzed. You raise a strong point about that beach that I wasn't quite sure about on the one island. After staring at Guarma long enough, I see some design choices that suggest that the GTA VI island is fanmade, especially the water surface.

We've seen how Rockstar do their concept/development maps before. They use clear grids, with landmark names so developers can know what is what. They've used grids since GTA SA, and in that case, each part of the grid was assigned to an artist or team - likely the same with RDR2. This doesn't look like a development map at all, and given we have so many talented artists who've made great concept maps before, it could be just another one, made to look like some fake leak.

In the end, you think that this map is real or just fake ?

At the start of it, I thought there was a 45% chance it was real, but the following several pages have put me into believing a 5% chance it's real. So for the most part, no I don't believe it's real.

Sorry in advance for my bad English.

I find one particully odd thing about this map. Im far away for saying it's real, but the thing is if I was gonna do a fake map of Vice City, I probably made map far more resemble to the real Miami - long and narrow. But this map, this is oddly specific. It's somehow look like Miami but only because of the Miami Beach, but other than that? Im gonna say - not so much. It's feel very Rockstar-ish, like something Rockstar would do. But I don't know. I feel it in my guts it's somehow real (maybe I want to belive it's real), and if I feel so, I'm pretty much rarely wrong.

And the second island. It's far away from the Vice island, and from 'normal' dev point of view, the water surrounding it is nonsense. But if you look at this, from different perspective, then You notice that R* want to somehow 'block' this island, like They did with Guarma. It's must be somewhere in the world but they can't put it close to the 'main' island. If You know what im mean. 😅

And funny thing is, that one year before R* announce GTA V, I started getting more involved in the forum about GTA in my country. And Im doing it again this time around. My guess is: 2021 announcement and 2023 release, but after being postponed like 2 times 😅

I’m calling fake on this one folks.

For me the creator is trying too hard to replicate the look of a finished map that we’d find in the case of a GTA game.

Realistically, we just have to look at the RDR2 leak to see how a Rockstar world looks when the game is in development.

In-engine view, super basic geometry, grids and block colours, information valuable to those working on the game. For me it just would never look like someone has just exported it from Photoshop. Because that asset wouldn’t even exist yet.

It also just isn’t possible to have half the map just plain colour. There would be terrain there and it would be detailed, even if it wasn’t populated yet. Developers don’t lay down a green colour for grass haha. Not how it works at all.

That part of Miami is more than likely modelled on this, IF it's a legit map that seeks to mimic Miami in a GTA world. It's a shoreline full of high-rise condos and hotels and resorts. (And as an urban landscape to translate into a game, it's dull as f*ck.) The docks are totally somewhere else, another island.

We're reading far too much into all this. If you step back and try to be objective, then unfortunately very little suggests that this is a real deal.

We're contorting findings to glean anything at all to show that it might maybe just about be legit. The burden of proof must be much more robust - and that's nothing personal against anyone here at all.  It's good to see everyone working together with the best of intentions.

Plus, if VC was modern  PortMiami is a pretty big deal and not something they wouldn't parody:

The more I look at the OP of this thread and where we are, maybe the real GTA VI map is the friendship we made along the way :)

Unless if you factor in that if true, this is likely a render.

Article was written about this thread lol

https://www.inverse.com/gaming/gta-6-map-leak-project-americas-vice-city

I ended up reading it, kinda happy with the citations they did, then I read this paragraph:

Quote

"The Mainland is about 5-7 [kilometers] long from West to East, expanding as it goes north," wrote Arthur Bull.

I feel like a total idiot, I only went back to the nicktestbranch thing to be funny, but if it is true I have to wait a while to rename my profile, what a bummer. Given how much truth I actually tell on this forum compared to my tons of sh*tposts, renaming myself to Arthur Bull would have been a privilege. Maybe next go round.

If this is legit a fake map, imagine what GTA VII fake leaks gonna looks like. With such determination and efforts put into a fake concept....

Effort? Really? Like I said, I think this looks like a 3-4/10 photoshop fake. I can't believe this thread already has 9 pages.

I can see why it got 9 pages, many were quick to defend a fake map since there's little else to talk about. There is another map I am going to put in here soon for analysis anyway, to see how it corroborates with any other "leaks" that are going on. I, again, do not believe any maps posted in here are real, but I LOVE the discussion, and frankly some of the fan art based on these fake maps.

Well, anyways, let's just hope Rockstar won't create such a crappy Vice City.

Just to give my opinion, I believe the city is too dense for a videogame like GTA, even for 2020 (or 2018) standards, and that's not even mentioning the size of the map. Can Rockstar add enough content in the game to justify that size and density? The game would not only have to be huge in terms of story, but also have a huge plethora of side content and activities so the map can be used efficiently. Now judging by the content in RDR2, that wouldn't be a big problem, however no previous Rockstar game has seemed to have a city as dense as this, which would require the content to be handled in a different way. Due to this reason alone, and without analyzing the map in detail which would certainly reveal other problems, I'm inclined to believe it is a fake leak.
