It reminds of the days when trolls would spam on the Rockstar Games Newswire. It’s kind of pathetic to be honest. Rockstar tweets something about support for a good cause for children’s hospitals and here come the trolls begging for the the next GTA or even the ones who are either incredibly dumb or trolling hard about RDR3 (that one makes no sense so it’s obvious trolling). No wonder Rockstar deactivated comments back in the day on the Newswire because of childish stuff like that. These merry band of morons don’t know how Rockstar operate. I stay as far away from that rubbish heap called Twitter because I've heard it gets really nasty at times. But that just sounds ridiculous, and I cannot even fathom how people could be so crude. Like, how sad their lives must be to air their grievances over the good someone else is trying to do. Maybe it's because I'm a mother and find R* willingness to support children's hospitals to be admirable no matter how frustrated I may be with their ways. 3 hours ago, Pocket Fox said: I think the real issue is one of communication. R* is one of the worst companies when it comes to communicating and interacting with their customers, and this in turn creates a lot of opportunity for speculation and sh*tposting. Yeah R* really fails in this department. TheOriginalGunslinger, kcole4001 and DentureDynamite
StyxTx
Well, I'll get jumped on about this but personally I have more respect for those who give to charities or whatever without announcing it. Ok, so you're giving to charity. What do you want from me, a pat on the back? I kind of feel it's a bit shady when companies announce they're giving a percentage of their sales to some charity. It's more of a sales gimmick in my view. They are attempting to increasing sales/profit by promoting their charitible donations. To me, it's not charitible if you're making money off the deal. Instead of paying $60 for a game for the game company to donate a few dollars, I'd rather skip the middleman and give the 60 to the charity myself, but that's the way I think and I'm sure I'm in the minority. I don't know if that's what R* said on Twitter since I don't have it but I'm talking about any company that does that. "Oh, I am giving $100 dollars to some homeless person and buying them a lunch" f*ck off, you absolute bellend. You are going to make ten, a hundred times that off youtube ads and begging for stuff like Patron or what ever it's called. TheOriginalGunslinger
As for the YouTubers go that someone mentioned a few posts above... I didn’t know some people still watched the GTA YouTubers. I stopped watching some of those guys long ago. Are y’all talking about those cheating/exploiting ones? Don’t even get me started with the ones that put fake thumbnails of a 12 year old like GTA style cover art. That sh*t is hilarious. Some of the videos are extreme clickbait and it’s sad to be honest so I can definitely see where y’all are coming from talking about those type of YouTubers. Also, sorry @Jason for turning this thread into a completely off-topic discussion. Won’t happen again. Correct. Also, Rockstar do a lot for their local charities that they don't talk about publicly. Rockstar are many things, but they are genuine when it comes to being charitable. These charities are things I would assume most people have heard of. Who doesn't know children's hospitals are out there? Or cancer? Or child abuse, etc, etc, etc. Unless there are a lot more people hiding under a rock than I think there is. 1 hour ago, Jason said: Correct. Unfortunately most people are aware these charities exist, but until it is brought to their attention it is an after thought, if it is even thought of at all. These personalities bring it to their viewers who will usually donate because they want to feel involved with said company/youtuber/celebrity. Last night something strange happened with Pooh bear, he had me and my daughter standing on a rockface. She was right behind my character and I was shooting him, anyways I literally watched as he ran straight past me and after my daughter who was running away from us both. I haven't gotten past rank 50 in th pass because I can't bring myself to play more than 15-20 minutes at a go if I sign in 1-2 times a week. So I will be spending gold just to complete it.
