help with last mission

I can't finish "the last enemy that shall be destroyed" mission, i keep dying during the duel in the barn. how do i kill them all?

I have to say it is evil the way they set the ending up making it look like it was just going to be the ultimate shootout/test of your deadeye skills though. Especially after already catching you out with the mission itself, setting it up meeting Jack in the barn like it's just going to be another calm ranching mission and suprising you with a f*cking army coming after you out of nowhere. I knew the ending before I played it but it must've tricked some people the first time they played. They could've just made the whole going out of the barn and getting shot a cutscene but they thought outside the box and made it a hundred times more devastating, very clever.
